Chapter 177: chapter 30

"Can someone tell me...what the hell just happened?" in the meeting room of the border town, there was a gathering of important officials, many of them were veterans from the previous war of the three kingdoms, and leading it all was Erik, Leonard own father himself.

He his face was currently pitched black and vein were popping up on his forehead as he lay eyes on the figure before him, of what somewhat look like his son, but his face was covered in a black tar like soot and his hairs was a complete mess.

"Erm...it just an experiment gone wrong, nothing to worry about...father." Leonard replied to him seeing that no one, especially the girls that was with him was actually saying anything.

"Experiment gone wrong...you mean that huge crater right outside of the town?" Vandal pointed out the window, as they all could see the huge crater caused by Leonard experimentation from the town hall itself.

"Erm...yes, it is that one…" Leonard smiled awkwardly as he slowly wiped his face with a wet cloth brought to him by the servant, the courtesy from his brother Vandal himself, to make him look more...presentable.

"..." Vandal couldn't help but shudder at the sheer power of the blast that could cause a crater of that size, in the end of it, Leonard only came out with a face covered in soot and other weird substances on the ground.

"Well...enough of that now, we're here on important business, I'm sure you know what I am talking about right?" Vandal quickly changed topic and brought them back to what they were here for in the first place.

"Yeah, something about the Republic officially declaring war on us? Does that sound like an excuse for us to take more land for ourself?" he shrugged at as he took the liberty to answer Vandal about today important meeting.

That was indeed the case, as from the letter that Leonard had managed to preserved just before that unfortunate field experimentation accident where he almost got himself killed in the process.

Messing around with a miniature sun/ volatile mass of energy has it downside.

"That's indeed the case, they just declared to the world that they're going to wage a war on us for the reason of provoking and justice for their people." Vandal continued to read out the long list in his hand, most of the reason was ...absurd to say the least.

"Here is what I'm curious about, my little brother, Leonard...what exactly did you write to them that made them so…"angry" at you to the point of outright declaring war instead of waiting for that one month time payment?" Vandal asked Leonard as his eyes narrowed.

"Did I already told you, brother? I wrote them a letter of apology…" Leonard smirked.

"Apology my ass! What the hell is this?! For a moment I thought they sent us another bill! Just look at this?! Emotional Distress! Lack of sleep?!" Vandal pulled out a letter from below and pointed out for all to see.

"What? It's true! They did cause some of that to happen to me, I mean- I didn't get much sleep making that volatile zombie and stressed out quite a bit as well… look! I even get some gray hairs out of it!" Leonard argued back.

"... I gave up… *sigh… let just deal with whatever come at us… since they already mobilized their army, there's no point in moating about it all now, we need to once again bring our troop to the battlefield…" Vandal gave a long sigh as he gave up on arguing with his brother.

"Don't be like that brother, I mean- war can be a good thing, especially for us." Leonard reassured his brother.

"What do you mean by that, young master Leonard?" an official asked him out of curiosity.

"We could use this chance to expand our border once more, let just wait for them to arrive at our doorstep like the Rosen and the Church, after that we will destroy all their force and pushed into their territory." Leonard explained in the simplest term.

"It's a good decision, however- don't depend too much on it, the Republic is different from the Rosen and the Church...they implement mages and other magic casters into their army...that's going to be a pain to deal with." his father spoke up this time.

"Talking about mages and magic casters of the Republic... I think you also forget they also secretly employed Necromancer and other dark arts user into their army as well." Vandal then pulled up another report.

"I'm sure you all can see how devastated when those guys are involved in wars right?" Vandal glanced at the group of officials.

"We also had a powerful Necromancer on our side too right? I mean, this town was built for him after all, can't we just depend on him alone to deal with the enemy, just like the last time?" an old official asked.

"Once again, we will deal with it when they decide to show up." Leonard spoke up and interrupted them.

"Right now, we should ready our troops to meet them when they arrived." that was his answer.

The border between the Free City State Republic and the Evergreen kingdom.

An army was marching toward the border of the Evergreen kingdom from the Free City State Republic, leading them was a man in a dark robe, carrying a wooden staff mounted with a humanoid skull with a pair of horn and having a dark purplish energy stone in it mouth.

"Hmmm... I sense, another dark power beyond the horizon…" he mutter in an aged dry voice as he looks toward the horizon and then turned back to the "troops" that he was leading.

Revealing to the world that the troop was a legion of zombie, skeleton warriors and other undead being like skeletal rider, who are just basically undead skeleton riding an undead horse.

There was roughly ten thousand of these troops all together, one only had to imagine how much effort it had taken the Necromancer(s) and the amount of body that they had to piled up before starting the resurrection ritual to raise the undead for combat usage.

"Another dark power? How strong do you think that Necromancer from the enemy side is, teacher?" a young man who rode beside the old dark robe figure asked.

"I do not know, however- just base on the negative energy that had lingering around the moment we crossed the border? I say he's capable at his job…" the teacher replied to his student, this old man was none other than one of the Dark Guardian of the Republic, whose duty was to once safeguard the country itself, along with other experts- and as expected, this old man was a rank eight Necromancers who was on the verge of breaking through to the door of a rank nine expert.

"He's that strong?!" the young man, who was the old Necromancer apprentice asked with a tone filled with shock and surprise, for his teacher who was a rank eight half step rank nine, to call another Necromancer strong, and capable, that must be something.
