Chapter 80: Silva Mona the 'Hidden'

'What did Alexander just do?' Lexa looked with narrowed eyes at the incredible sight before her. She didn't know what, but she felt that when Alexander had put his hand on that man's head, something bizarre occurred and Alexander seemed to learn something from the act even from his words afterwords. 'Did he... Are Sky Magician's so powerful?...'

Meanwhile, Alexander seemed to still be in a daze as he processed the image of the lanky person in his mind, struggling to put a name to the familiar countenance. But as the seconds pass as he continues to linger on this thought with no answer coming to him, Alexander soon shook himself of these wayward thoughts from his mind. Instead, his eyes narrow in concentration as his head whips around to face the shocked still group of thugs that had yet to face the blade of his spear.

"Your not needed." His simple words sent a frigid chill down each one of their spines, some even tumbling to the ground and fumbling helplessly as they try to fly up and flee. But no matter how much they fight, their weak strength would never be enough to fight back against the pressure pressing down on each and every one of them. Alexander was not giving them even the slightest of chances of retreat.

Anguish cries rang out in chorus as blood sprayed like rain, drenching the dirt below a crimson colour. The thud of several corpses collapsing resounded as several people struggled with their final breaths until eventually, no sound was whispered, painting the scene in an eerie silence.

Lexa drew in a large breath before letting out a sigh.

'Dozens killed with one casual slice...' Despite the gory sight, Lexa couldn't help but admire Alexander's strength. The power to defeat multiple opponents with a casual flick of his weapon. It was rather desirable.

Looking down, she saw the resting Andria and Lexa finally let a feeling of relief wash over her. It was over and they were safe.

However, things weren't as over as they seemed and Lexa looked on with confusion as Alexander began to walk a few steps in a certain direction, a look of anger flashing in the dark, cold eyes behind his glasses.

At the same time, Lexa began to hear the distant footsteps of several people behind her and an uneasy feeling began to take root. Only to lessen when she turned to find it was the footsteps of the Wilderwolf Soldier's. It seemed that a majority of them had arrived and she could tell a few must have stayed behind at the encampment, most likely to protect the people of Crow Academy.

When Lexa turned back to look at Alexander, she was puzzled to see the same enraged expression and couldn't but help wonder what was angering him so. Were their more of these thugs somewhere or something?...

"Men, protect my daughter with your lives!!" Alexander commanded, his words demanding attention and respect.

"YES SIR!!" Came the soldier's immediate response.

A second later, Alexander vanished with a single step, no longer in the sight of his men or of Lexa's as well. She could only wonder what was happening as the soldier's took on a protective formation around her, and more importantly around Andria. A few soldier's who was rather medically inclined also gave a quick study of Andria's wounds, making sure their was nothing serious wrong with her. Which thankfully there was not.

The lanky man and the man by his side opened their eyes wide in surprise as they saw the distant figure of Alexander suddenly take a massive leap in their direction. Soon, Alexander was enveloped by an azure glow as he flew between the Rising Earth Thistle's at a terrific speed.

"Whatever Magical Item that is allowing him to see through my rune formations is rather powerful... Perhaps a Pulsing Ranked Item even!..." The lanky man muttered. "We should go."

"Hmm. It is not time yet." The man by his side nodded his head in agreement, his weary eyes taking in the sight of Alexander's cold eyes as his form grew clearer and clearer as he threatened to reach them any second.

With a flick of his wrist, the lanky man pulled out a familiar scroll which one could recognize as having the same runes as a Void Teleportation Scroll.

"Not this time!!" Alexander booming voice shouted in a animalistic growl, reaching their ears at the same time that his body suddenly flashed out of sight.

The lanky man didn't have time to activate the magical scroll before it was savagely ripped apart, quickly followed by the sight of Alexander by side, his free hand descending on his shocked face.

While shaken, the lanky man snapped out of his daze just in time to cover his face in a thick, magical barrier. But this turned futile when Alexander's right hand burst into a blue flame that instead of releasing a wave of heat, did pretty much the opposite.

The lanky man's face caved in as the hand slammed into his face and one could see a quick growth of frost spreading from that place of contact, extending down to his lower neck before his head was struck brutally into the leaf below. The leaf didn't hold the weight of the clash for even a second before the lanky man was sent flying downwards towards the earth below like a cannon ball.

BANG!!

Alexander stood tall above on the leaf, looking coldly through the newly formed gap down into the depths of the forest below. Their, the results of his enemies clash into the ground was currently shrouded in mystery as a dust cloud hid his visage. But with a flick of his finger, that cloud of dust was vanquished away, revealing a large, several feet wide crater. At the center of that crater, Alexander saw the lanky figure stretched out on the ground, unmoving.

His whole head had been blasted into frozen pieces.

Despite his attack having been clearly successful however, Alexander's brow's furrowed at the sight at he concentrated his eyes as he studied the sight in more detail, only to notice something that shot his eyes open wide in shock.

"A clone..." Alexander spoke awkwardly, finding it rather difficult to believe.

In conjunction to this revelation, the still and decapitated body below suddenly stirred, its hands shakily pushing its upper body up before turning him around so that if he had a head, he would be looking upwards, likely at the stunned Alexander.

It was then that Alexander finally remembered where he had seen the man before him. He was a famous Sky Magician known far and wide for his skills as a Rune Master. He was especially known for his works on his innovation, the Rune Clone.

His Sky Magician moniker was the 'Hidden' Magician and his real name was Silva Mona. The reason he was called the 'Hidden' Magician, was that no one had seen his true body in decades, only his many clones that always took after his own looks. Or at least what he used to look like before he went into hiding.

Chapter 81: Frigid Wolf Vs Hidden

Alexander's eyes suddenly narrowed in apprehension before suddenly his upper body twisted back oddly, just in time to avoid a flying spear as it pierced through an afterimage of his moving form. Alexander took hold of his spear with quick reflexes as it fought in his hands to escape.

Squinting his eyes, Alexander looked in the direction where this surprise attack originated from to find a familiar man standing there, the lanky man, complete with his head. As if Alexander hadn't decapitated him earlier.

Peering downwards, Alexander could see the other lanky man still there struggling onto his feet, his head still missing.

"It would seem my hypothesis was correct." Alexander muttered under his heavy breath before he growled at the two lanky men, which were both clones of the Sky Magician, 'Hidden'. "Silva Mona, what has our family done so that you attack us so!"

"You will find out in time!" Shockingly, this voice erupted from right behind Alexander.

Instinctively, Alexander raised his Crying Night and brutally swung it behind himself, only to cut air as the third clone swiftly dodged the attack, the slightest of grins on his pale face as he fixed the bowler hat on his head.

Before he knew it, Alexander was surrounded by nearly a dozen identical men resembling this man called Silva Mona. With trepidation, Alexander assumed a neutral stance as he stood straight and tall in the middle of them all, the blade of his spear 'Crying Night' resting harmlessly on the earth but his grip on its long pole strong and tense.

"You will not be leaving here." Alexander suddenly spoke as his eyes suddenly darted towards the other man aside Silva Mona, the jittery man who had always been by his side. Being called out, his shoulders made a start as his motion froze in its spot. In his hand was another Void Teleportation Scroll. In this moment of hesitation Alexander's free hand suddenly reached into the Magic Pocket hanging by his waist before unveiling a golden spherical object in his hands.

Both the jittery man and every single one of the Silva Mona clones' eyes opened in recognition of this object.

"A Rune Gem!" There was a hint of disbelief in one of the Silva Mona's clones' voice as it spoke.

A second after those words escaped his lips, Alexander's form suddenly vanished from its place. Below the headless Silva Mona clone watched as Alexander darted straight in his direction. But he knew that his target was not himself but the earth below, which he would need to activate the ability of this Rune Gem.

'Things will become difficult if I let him use this Rune Gem. From his words, this Rune Gem clearly contains some sort of magic that prevents the use of teleportation spells... That would make our escape ten times harder... And it is not time to kill Frigid Wolf yet... It would bring too much trouble...' These thoughts passed quickly in Silva Mona's collective mind.

The headless Silva Mona clone's body suddenly shattered, revealing his innards which was made up of several mechanical objects covered intricately in runes, drawn at a minuscule level. The intricacy of these clones could be seen at a glance of these several, interconnected parts. A second later however, nothing of the clone could be seen as it was evaporated in an expanding explosion that originated at its centre.

Above, Alexander was forced to manoeuvre around this explosion that reached several dozen meters in length. The delay was short, but enough for the encroaching clones who had begun to chase after the darting figure of Alexander.

Flying at full speed, the several clones all moved in conjunction as they extend their two hands forward, palm raised upward so the flat of it was facing the retreating Alexander. Several small soft click noises sounded before the centre of their palms suddenly opened to reveal a small hole before something quick and silver shot out of each of these holes, leaving a silver afterimage in their wake.

Alexander peaked behind him to find several small projectiles flying in his direction like small arrows. At closer look, they all seemed to be metallic poles only a few inches long with a pointed end and intricate runes down its full length.

Singing a quick chant, an azure glow formed a barrier behind him midair, shaped in the form of a large shield. The initial several dozen bolts crashed explosively against this shield, throwing out sparks and cracking deeply the surface of the shield before losing momentum and falling. But the second half of bolts managed to pierce through the then damaged shield without losing too much momentum and chasing after Alexander's shadow.

These bolts were incredibly fast and caught up to Alexander while he was still only several dozen meters from the earth below. But with a massive and guttural swipe from his spear, glacial wind swept the closest of the incoming bolts and sent them flying into the earth and thistle trees around him.

Finally, Alexander reached the ground, singing a quick chant another azure shield appeared and blocked off the remaining bolts, ending the chase. Alexander didn't stop there though as he chanted once more and a glacial cold wind began to form before him, large and encompassing and so cold that icicles began to form in the turbulent and freezing winds.

With a large growl, Alexander swept his Crying Night in an upwards arc and sent the glacial wind blasting towards the incoming clones, who were forced to stop and react to the raging winds threatening their very existence.

Five of the clones shot in front of the rest and interlinked their fingers as an azure barrier began to form in front of them and expand at an incredible rate, just in time to meet the brunt of the incoming attack which raged forward like a powerful storm, threatening to blast apart their growing barrier at any minute.

As the wind raged on and the barrier held strong, the two sides were locked in a stalemate as below, Alexander sung out in his longest chant yet before finally crushing the golden sphere in his hand against the cold ground below, its form smashing into glittering gold dust that merged with the earth upon eventual contact.

"We were too late." A Silva Mona clone clenched its teeth and fixed the bowler hat on its head haphazardly, its frustration palpable.

With the area of impact of the golden sphere at its centre, golden runes began to expand in a disc shape, covering the ground quickly, its length even vanishing in the distance.

This massive, expanding rune only completed when it reached a radius of two miles!

Alexander let out a heavy breath as he stood from his crouching position and gazed resolutely upwards, his sight transcending the turbulent gales of his own spell and the azure barrier holding it back and at the sight of several clones looking back at him similarly.

He was not going to give his attacker any chance of escape. Even if there was the possibility that they were all just clones, they could still hold a clue to the people that were threatening the livelihood of his family.
