After equipping the Phantom Lightning Boots, Daniel exited Stealth Mode.
The black-robed character was surprised when he sensed Phantom God coming out of Stealth Mode. The player behind the black-robed character cursed, thinking that Phantom God equipped his equipment.
Anyone who can beat a Mecha Rex like that without any equipment must be a Ranker in the Arena of Titans.
But he was elated when he saw that Phantom God was still wearing jeans and a white t-shirt. He didn't notice that Phantom God was already wearing new boots.
Of course, all this time, the black-robed character didn't know that he was facing the legendary Phantom God.
Daniel made his character move towards the 'hunter.'
Now it was time for the hunter to be hunted.
With the highest movement and speed stat in the whole game, Daniel's character's speed could only be described as a blur.
He executed Sudden Sprint, a movement technique that can be unlocked using AP at level 10 after gaining 7 movement stat. At max level, its cooldown was only 30 seconds, and its duration is 15 seconds. The Sudden Sprint grants a speed buff of 50%, paired with Phantom God's already monstrous speed, it was overkill.
But hey, in Steel Tempest, one shouldn't underestimate their opponents unless they actually know what or who they're dealing with. If they're hunting and they did underestimate their opponents, it's highly likely that the situation will be reversed, and the predator will become the prey.
For example, the current situation.
The intelligence of the player playing the black-robed character was actually pretty stupid. How? He didn't even deduce that someone who was hunting a Level 480 Mecha Rex without equipment on was possibly a high-level player much higher than his skill level.
If I were that guy, and I saw someone destroying something that high-level without any equipment on, I would have been scared sh*tless and ran the opposite direction already.
Daniel's hands were flashing around the keyboard, and the display on the screen was a sight to behold.
The screen was flashing in different directions, at a speed that someone whose eyes and thinking aren't fast enough would only see 'a blur.' Also, passersby would only be able to see a blur in the computer screen.
It was definitely the legendary Speed Demon, Phantom God.
In game, the black-robed character was utterly surprised at the speed Phantom God was going at.
Of course, at Phantom God's level, he maximized his Pistol Mastery Ability, and all the Movement Abilities, giving him extremely high mobility.
Phantom God did something unexpected after that.
The character actually stepped on thin air! Furthermore, multiple times, and it even walked on it!
Actually, this isn't such a rare sight in the world of Steel Tempest, as this technique is called the Air Walk unlocked at level 75 at a certain movement stat.
In an instant, Phantom God was in front of the black-robed character!
The player using the black-robed character reacted very fast and made his character take out a black pistol.
'Huh. Average.' Daniel thought to himself while using the correct combination of keys to execute a front flip.
Actually, the player that was controlling the black robed character's skill level is actually pretty high, and his reflexes are actually pretty fast. But in the face of a god-level player? Of course that would look like child's play!
Some might become angry that Daniel is too arrogant, but isn't being humble at that skill level make you look like an idiot or too gullible and easy to trick. Or he will give off the feeling that Daniel is hiding something behind that humble 'mask' of his.
This is just the pride of a god-level hardcore gamer!
Regardless, the situation at hand doesn't involve any other human than Daniel, so nobody will know his arrogant nature, and, of course, Daniel's face look as calm as still water, and there's no sign of arrogance whatsoever, just pure serenity.
In-game.
Phantom God shot two simultaneous pistol shots. Even with the black-robed character's defenses, Daniel's Dark Destroyer's bullets penetrated through such a defense.
The black-robed character was sent back because of the power of the shots, but he instantly used Recover, and did an Aero-Version Back Flip, which allowed him to land safely.
But, as he looked in front of him, Phantom God was already gone.
What happened is that after shooting the guy, Daniel used Phantom Shift, which allows one to teleport in a short position in an instant, and at any position, to reposition himself.
He then used Sudden Burst, which is like Phantom Shift, but more of an instant movement than a teleportation, to run to the guy. But when he was in close proximity, he used a Back Flip, and was now directly on top of the guy.
He then shot his two pistols. Two guns resounded on Daniel's headphones, and a critical shot, as well as two head shot sounds reverberated.
The black-robed character vanished, and dropped his equipment.
Daniel took all of the equipment. It wouldn't hurt to take the equipment, right? He then used a Spatial Transporter to send the equipment to his storage.
After everything, he went back to hunting like no attack happened. He kept his Phantom Lightning Boots though so as to not encounter any danger, however, he turned off its effects for the time being.
...
"Ahhh...." Daniel let out a relieved sound. He was hunting... No, actually, he was harassing monsters all this while, even Level 490 monsters can't touch a hair of his because of his absurdly powerful pistols.
Of course, in Steel Tempest, one should know that power not just relies on the gun, and equipment, but the player him/herself as well. Actually, it mostly relies on skill!
Well, unless you put all your SP into your Physique, and Endurance stat, you wouldn't need skill to dodge them, but you'll be seen as a blockhead who uses their SP advantage on Physique and Endurance stat to go and fight!
There are still people who uses this stratagems, but it certainly numbers less than ten thousands!
Against a god-level player like Daniel, those blockheads cannot even touch a hair of Phantom God, much less killing him!
If a Level 500 player of Steel Tempest watched how Daniel was hunting... Err.... harassing Level 490 monsters like that, they would surely cough out a mouthful of blood!
"I'll stop for now, this is getting boring..." Daniel sighed ruefully.
Just then, an alert popped up in his screen!
"~Ding~ A Towering Giant has spawned in your vicinity! Would you like to seal off the area, or let other players in?"
This message was the typical Wild Boss challenge on Steel Tempest. One can either seal off an area that is 1 kilometer in radius, and anyone, except the characters who are included in the party leader's party, within that radius will be forcefully teleported out back to their respective spawn points, and no one will be able to enter that area. The downside is that the player (Or party) should die, or the Wild Boss. And if the player (Or party) didn't die and they tried to escape the Wild Boss while using this choice, they wouldn't escape until the 1-hour timer goes off. And after that 1-hour timer goes off, they would be teleported to their spawn points, and they would be forcefully logged out of the game, ban for a day, to a month, depending on how many Wild Bosses one avoided. One should know that other than the current player, and party that is currently in the vicinity, no one would be able to get in, and if one of your party member dies, they wouldn't respawn until the Wild Boss is dead, the party is wiped out, or the 1-hour timer runs out. However, the good side is that one wouldn't drop any equipment upon dying, and doesn't lose any level.
Or unseal the area, and let other players in. This is actually the safest choice, but the risk is that if you are only one player, and you are unsure if you can handle the Wild Boss or not, and actually chose this option, and in the end, actually almost killed the boss. But then, someone steals the last hit at the very last second, that would be bad right? Plus, other players can contend with you and your party if you choose this option. The good side is that after a party member dies, they would be able to rejoin the fight, and they wouldn't need to wait for timers and whatnot.
And, unsurprisingly, Daniel chose the first option!
"You have 2 minutes before the Wild Boss spawns." A robotic can be heard on Daniel's headphones, as well as a notification on screen.
...
Also, I didn't mention the class system of Steel Tempest. I wouldn't elaborate on this because of the explanation shit, and you know that I would not focus on this game for long as Daniel would hop around other games. But there will certainly be arcs where Daniel plays this again, and that again, so don't worry. As I said, a player who is a god at only one game isn't a Gaming God, but only a *Game Name* God, only a player who can player countless different games can only be considered a true Gaming God!
Also, about the releases. I'm sure you're upset with me because of unstable releases, but it's just the way I am. Writing is, after all, only my hobby. Although I have free time on my hands, I mainly use it for other stuff, I wouldn't let you know because of personal stuff. I also study on my free time, so yeah. That's just it, sorry for the unstable releases, and I don't see a future of stable releases any time soon. HOWEVER, during special events, such as Christmas, and Halloween (And the time during there are no classes), this novel, would of course have stable releases, every day. I'm just not certain about the time of release, it can be spread, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, or even 11:30 PM! Also, you must say that I'm free during weekends. No, I am not. Family bonding, and school work occupies it. Yes, school work. You've heard it, school work. I rarely have school work during Sundays, but on Saturdays, yes, I have myriads of school work on my shoulder. As for the time I have on Sunday, I use it to bond with my family. So yeah, please understand, and again, sorry for the unstable releases.
