The Valley in front of me looked less desolate, than the wilderness outside. I could see some trees growing. There were some patches of grass once in a while, and some common herbs were visible throughout the Valley. 'This place is much different compared to the outside. I wonder what type of animals live here' I thought and moved forwards. The Avians used this place not only as their food supply, but also a place that meant future for Avians.
The rare herbs seemed very useful, and even if they couldn't get that many of them to satisfy the whole swarm, it was still extraordinary amount. Of course, if what the female Avian said, was true. While I walked through the Valley, I noticed a lot of herbs growing around. These were the common type herbs and mostly not very useful to me. I decided to leave them by, and not collect them. At least for now.
Some more walking and exploring later, the view in front of me changed. I could now see an open area, which was surrounded by cliffs. That area, was much more green, compared to the Valley entrance. I could see some animals moving around in groups and living happily. 'This view is amazing. To find something like this in the North, must be very hard. There are loads of trees, shrubs and whatnot around. There are animals, that are not rotting, and even herbs growing in abundance. Why is this place so different, compared to the rest of Northern Wilderness?' I thought.
There must've been a reason. Either they had a method to change this place, into the paradise of the North, or the location in itself, was special. I didn't know which one it was. 'The King of Avians said to me, that they had special methods to grow those herb and rear animals. That doesn't mean, the place is not special as well' I thought.
I entered the open area of the Valley and encounter the first animal inside. It was some sort of bull or cow like creature, but it had 4 tails instead of one. It's colour was also weird, it was pale orange… just like the set of clothes, I received. 'So, that is how they got the colour then. No wonder they liked this colour. I mean, it's their source of food. Fortunately, that Avian took the set for redying' I thought. Besides the colour and tails, it's horns were also different than those of a bull. The horns were pointing towards the back of that creature, instead of the front. 'It's as if, the horns of that creature are just there as a fashion feature. They are useless as a weapon' I thought.
I approached the creature, which I decided to name Four Tailed Bull for now. The creature seemed startled but didn't run away. It looked at me with some curiosity. I wondered if that creature could speak as well, I asked "How are you?". I knew it was a stupid question but nevertheless, it was something. The Four Tailed Bull seemed confused but didn't answer anything. 'It can't talk probably. Not every creature can anyway. Normal Corpse Dogs couldn't talk, the only one that could, was their Leader' I thought.
I came close to the creature, that was about 1.5 size bigger than a bull, and looked at it. I wanted to study those creatures as well, in order to fill in my Beast Scriptures. The Four Tailed Bull stared at me but didn't do anything. After a while, it came closer and smelled me. 'Hmm, it seems to be friendly'. I reached out my hand on reflex to pat it on the head.
The Four Tailed Bull backed off and stared at me intensely. I said "I only wanted to pat your head, I meant no harm to you". Although I said that, I had no idea if it could understand me. The bull stared at me for a while, it noticed that I did no suspicious moves and tried to get closer again. I extended my hand forwards this time. The bull came closer and sniffed my hand. I said "I told you, I mean no harm to you. I just want to learn more about you".
The bull didn't really care about my words and sniffed my hand for a while. It then lifted its head up and… smiled? This time, it was my turn to be confused. I had no idea what that Four Tailed Bull was on about. It was scared at first, then smiled. It didn't make sense.
I tried to touch the bull and this time, it didn't back off but got closer. Its hide felt quite rough, as I patted its head and neck. "Moooo!" the bull seemed pleased, it made the same sound that a bull would do.
'Weird animal. It must be some sort of Variant, from the bull family. Besides, this is North. Nothing is normal here' I thought to myself. I check the bull from all sides and didn't notice anything out of ordinary. 'It has four tails and weird skin colour, but other than that… it's like any normal bull' I thought. I took out the Beast Scriptures and recorded the entry for the Four Tailed Bull inside. 'I will have to ask for the name of that creature later. I don't want to create more misunderstandings when talking with creatures here' I thought and closed the book.
I would have more chances to encounter those creatures again. I could always learn more, when that happened. I said "I'm off then, enjoy whatever you were doing" and moved towards the depths of the Valley. As I walked through a thin forest, admiring the views. I encountered another animal. It looked like a monkey, but it was red. It was also quite small and seemed very lazy. When it noticed me, it didn't even try to run or do anything. Just laid there on the tree, staring at something.
I came closer to the tree and studied the monkey like creature. With a more detailed look, I noticed that, there was a 3rd eye on its forehead. It was closed at that moment but the eyelid was visible. 'A monkey with 3 eyes? Who would have thought, such thing to be possible' I thought to myself and decided to call it Three Eyed Monkey. A name fitting its appearance. Of course that was only the provisional name, I would later ask Avians, about the real names of those creatures.
I entered all the details into my Beast Scriptures, then moved on. I soon encountered a small clearing in the forest. In the middle of that clearing, a lake… or rather, a pond. It was quite small, but it would be enough for the animals living here, to have a drink and stay hydrated. 'I wonder, where does all this water come from? It could be underground stream or something like that…. But here, in the North?' I thought.
I got closer to the pond and had a look. I hoped to see some fishes inside, but I didn't see any. The pond itself was quite deep. I placed my left hand inside and noticed that the temperature, was quite low. 'There is no sun, so the water has no way of warming up. This begs the question, how did all these plants grow?' I thought. This didn't seem to make sense. There was no sun in the sky, but the trees, shrubs and even herbs grew. The temperature was always the same, except when wind blew from time to time, then it got colder.
'The sun must still be there in the skies. Although the clouds cover the whole North, it's not dark in here. Maybe that is why the plants could grow' I thought. Before I could move on and explore more of that Valley, I noticed some movements inside the pond.
'Hmmm? Is something there after all?' I thought and focused on the pond. I saw no movements again, but I was sure that something moved inside. 'I'm not delusional, as far as I'm aware. I have loads of patience, we will wait and see, what is inside there' I thought and sat down.
