Chapter 10: Hard Mode
"Hard mode," Thrasher said and clicked on the dungeon wall.
"Seriously? What if they changed anything," Dream Knight responded to him.
"Eh, we'll just lose a level and have to wait an hour."
In the game, if you lost, you'd have to wait one hour to play again, and you'd lose half a level. This was not true if you were killed in town like Steel Lion, but in a dungeon the penalty existed.
"Hmm, well, let's go inside," Purple Monarch said looking back at the forest. "I feel that dwarfs little evil eyes on me!"
Corey nodded his head. "Alright… starting dungeon… Hard mode…!"
He clicked on the screen, and soon they were transported into the dungeon.
When they arrived, it looked almost the same as the original Grey Winter Dungeon. Except the graphic difference between the Virtual version, and the PC version was extremely noticeable. This was by far more realistic.
In the dungeon they immediately noticed a set of minitour still were where they remembered. Since this was the case, Corey without thinking ran ahead to get aggro. In the original game, a normal team would have the rangers aggro, however, Corey had the [air slash] attack from one of his hidden six pieces of equipment.
Air slash provided 20% boost to normal attack damage, and had a range of 10 meters. Soon, the air blade's rained into the pack of Minitours and White Foxes. However, since this was hard mode, and they were level 30. Corey had no choice but to tank.
"'I'm so frustrated right now! However, good work Thrasher!"
Thrasher was level 18 right now, and not only did he have to aggro, but he was also the main attacker. Luckily, he was now able to put on his level 18 epic armor, his first piece of legendary equipment, the Hell Emperor's gloves.
The Hell's Emperor's gloves had an added atta¬¬ck of 150, and increased his attack speed by 40. The armor also helped reduce the damage of the Minitours.
"Heh… I hope you guys saved your level 18 equipment," Thrasher said as he ran around in circles.
Every few seconds he'd send out an air blade, and his two friends could only watch their experience bar rise. At this time, with nothing better to do, they began talking to each other.
"Oh right, I saved my equipment… Did you Purple?"
Monarch nodded his head. "Yup… of course I did. Except I sold my favorite gauntlets to appease my wife…"
Dream Knight smiled. "Omg, you're married! I can't believe it!"
Purple Monarch grinned. "Yup, she's much shorter than me…"
Dream Knight rolled her eyes. "Obviously, she has to be… If she were as tall as you, I'd be afraid. However, does she play the game?"
"Yup! She's a lifestyle player! I told her I'd level her up once I maxed out this account."
Thrasher, finally, killed another level 30 minotaur.
"Hey… did I hear you correctly, someone married you monarch?" He quickly performed an areal maneuver and looked over at Purple Monarch.
"Yup! She's gorgeous, and not as tall!"
Thrasher smiled and then killed a snow fox that was coming up to him.
"Congrats!"
Purple Monarch blushed and then walked over to help clean up. In the ten minutes they were here, he leveled up to level 10 already.
"Well, its just what happens when you're tall. It's hard for the girls to not notice you standing above the crowd."
Thrasher nodded his head. "Yes, I totally understand… I was in a dream where I was tall, and the ladies loved me."
Dream Knight once again rolled her eyes. "Ugh, this is what I get for being in a group of men! However, is it me, or did we forget about something?"
Thrasher turns around and looks at the walls.
He soon sends out an air blade before a flock of bats fly over to them. If they didn't aggro these bats, they would've hit them when they crossed the bridge to the maze.
"Ah… yup, there you go," Purple Monarch said. "Now that daddy is level 10. He's going to join the fun!" He soon pulled out an epic hammer for a level 10 player. He had also imbued it with the move [Macy's seismic stars].
Even when he was level 20, he would still prefer this weapon because of this skill!
"Woohoo! Time to go down you, bats"
Purple Monarch stood in front of the crowd and soon sent out hundreds of star slashes. In just a moment, all the bats were aggroed, and Thrasher and him together slayed the bats.
Dream Knight just casting basic heal as she thought about Purple Monarch's wife. "Did someone really marry him?"
