Woah, woah, chill. No bad news here.
It seems I've botched the timeline a bit. With Michael and his classmates being 13, I wanted to spread out the events over the course of years. However, I now realize that made the story too slow.
I started out with familiar to me, Russian education system. Our middle school starts with grade 5 (10-11 years) up to grade 11. I'm rewriting the story very slightly right now. Literally right now. If you're reading this, that means I'm making changes.
Here's what I will insert somewhere in the story: EIS employs a 2-stage system, often seen in many countries. It breaks down into primary and secondary school. EIS provides secondary education only. Meaning there are 6 years, from grade 7 to grade 12. 7th-graders are 12-13 years old.
Michael died at 34 and is now 14. He enrolls in grade 9. His classmates are also 14 and will turn 15 during the school year. Effectively, the kids are a year older.
What does this mean for my loyal readers? Not much, really. Everyone's character and behavior is the same, even Anna's shyness. Words "kids" and "children" will be used less in favor of "teenagers" and "youths".
On the plus side, this saves us all useless drivel and allows us to cross over to some grown-up stuff sooner. To the fights, blood, love, money, everything you came here for.
Sorry for the inconvenience. I will delete this announcement in a few days to keep the chapter list clean.
