Chapter 15: I will directly kidnap her
The whole room fell into silence even the light melody played by the pianist wasn't present anymore, I felt the gaze of every person in the room focus on me, but I wasn't flustered or even nervous about this proposal it was like an evidence, it was evident since the moment I realized that Jack Adler created all of this, I knew since that moment that he was going to propose.
Every single piece of the picture came into view and they slowly completed themselves in my brain but I didn't feel the happiness that I should feel when the man I love proposes to me, because of this uncomfortable aura of fake, acting.
Yes, acting, everything is an act. This didn't feel real, the feelings that he is currently showing aren't sincere, he is merely acting, the Jack Adler that I know and I love isn't someone like this, he is a mighty, cold and possesses an arrogance hidden deeply in his bone. He is someone that wouldn't even falter at the whole world going against him. He won't smile, he will be eternally cold, he will always have that terrifying calm.
He is not this character coming out of a romantic movie, he is not the f*cking male lead of a romantic movie, the one I love is the emperor commanding Adler Corps, the one who looks down on the whole world, the one at the top of the food chains.
The silence in the room continued, I was lightly staring at him, and he was returning that fake smile to me.
Mei Ling, Mei Ling aren't you the cold general? Why are you spacing out?
As I was about to answer to his proposal, everyone could hear the sound of a phone ring. 'This kind of timing', I took out the phone from my purse, the name Mei Li flashed on the screen and I answered to the call.
"Hello" my voice was faintly trembling.
"Little Mei, can you come back it's urgent" the phone wasn't really loud but it was loud enough for everyone in the silent hall to hear it.
"Yes, ma", I hung up as soon as the call finished.
Jack slowly got up, and slowly walked step by step toward the exit, Jack's cold voice was heard in the hall as he left the hall. "Mei Ling, you have seven days to answer"
As he left the hall, I didn't know why but I lightly signed, but it was more like a sigh of relief.

Richard was observing from the control room, and he lightly sighed at this unexpected ending, Eric kicked the table in frustration.
"We should have bought a scrambler",
Not far away, the manager was trembling with a pale face.
"is it a failure?" he asked still trembling while wiping out the sweat that accumulated like rain on his forehead.
"I didn't think that even Boss would have this type of love failure, Meh so there is a woman that doesn't like boss huh" Eric was continuing his rambling while ignoring the manager's question.
Richard lightly coughed: "Eric!" "Oh, come on this is the first time I saw boss failing at something"
"Eric, Boss told me that it was his second attempt"
"What?" Eric jumped
As Eric was about to follow up with a question, the sound of someone entering the room could be heard.
Eric immediately straightened himself up as he saw Jack entering the room even though the expression of Jack was still the same all-time cold he could feel that if he said something wrong he could get sent to Siberia to swim in the snow.
Jack sat on the main seat of the table and his voice that sent direct killing intent toward everyone was heard:
"What did I do wrong?"
Except Richard both, the manager and Eric were lightly trembling.
Even though Richard wasn't the most intelligent and the wisest in the room, he still had his fair share of romantic encounters so Richard immediately shared what he felt that was wrong in this 'date'.
"Sir, I think that it was a bit to fake"
"What?"
"You know everything was staged so, I don't think it felt sincere"
"Ah? But the most proposal was my best though"
"Sir, I never ever seen you smile like this, and you being like this is, it's already smelling plot from hundred miles away"
"but shouldn't I be happy since it's the day that should be one of the happiest days of my life" his cold expression didn't change but the atmosphere was unnaturally heavy.
"Sir, even though you should be happy, how to say it? You were too happy, may be happy for you will be more like the corner of your mouth slightly raising up" with a slight hesitation in his voice Richard continued talking.
An almost invisible frown was on Jack's forehead, the room atmosphere got heavier once again. Eric felt that he could surely swim in the air by now and if he couldn't, he should surely wait for Richard to rile up the boss a bit more.
"But don't worry, Sir, it feels like Miss Mei isn't against the marriage with you it's just that she felt that you weren't sincere, maybe she thought that the 'love' you would show her will be a bit like this kind of love of today, I am pretty sure that's the reason for her hesitation" Richard continued with haste as he felt Jack being displeased.
The invisible atmosphere immediately lightened and the manager that held back is breath from the beginning could finally breathe a bit but Eric immediately cursed Richard because he brought his dream of swimming in the air down to the drain.
"So, if I do it once again it will work right?" Richard was beginning to sweat as his he heard Jack's question.

"Since it's so I don't want to propose again, I will directly kidnap her" with an icy cold overbearing tone Jack left the room with these words.
Eric and Richard stared toward each other, "It's bad right?" Richard asked with a trembling voice.

after the fog dissipated the young man begged for mercy: "Please, you can't do this, I am the author, I swear I will finish this I won't be late anymore"
