Chapter 30: Chapter 30 - Learning Magic! (1)
Gosu took out a mini notebook that had red cover from his side pouch. It seems to be handmade as he browsed through the pages. Pointing his finger to one of the pages, he began to explain.
"The Inventor's Guild is the Kalderan Empire's official guild for research, development and innovation center!"
"There are around 10 lead innovators known as 'Proxima' and their current leader, Alphonse, is the Grand Proxima!"
"Their range of work is to produce contraptions, which is made up of little things that work in tandem with each other to do one or many particular jobs at once! In terms, 'contraptions' is something similar to my Lord's 'machines'."
Showing his notebook to Theo, he gestured for the latter to come closer as the picture he draw is a little bit small.
"Here my Lord, take a look at these drawings that I made, these are some of their most groundbreaking contraptions that were renowned throughout the empire!"
Theo leaned closer as he analyzed the detailed drawn picture with his fingers on his chin. Instead of drawings, this might even be suitable to be called as blueprints! He was amazed by the little details with side notes on them. Perhaps this Gosu fella is quite talented indeed.
After a series of flipping the pages, Theo's brows furrowed a little bit as he came to a rough understanding of what contraptions actually is.
"These contraptions... It seems to be from the early days of human scientific innovation.." he remarked in his mind.
This is because what he could see is that there were presence of gears, shafts, axles, bearings, and mechanisms such as the belt lines to linkages. They are activated through the many traditional control components made up from a series of connecting levers.
Although most of them requires manual labour through human or animal input to produce energy to work, there are some which harnesses the power of wind and hydro.
"Hmm.. this is interesting. But it still couldn't compare to my machines. After all, back in my world, these sorts of technology has been outdated for several centuries already!" said Theo casually.
Hearing this, the Village Head, the butler and Gosu gleamed with anticipation. After all, who wouldn't love advanced mechanism that could do wonders that people haven't thought of before? Gosu especially, was looking at Theo with awe and veneration!
His look was like that of viewing a treasure trove undiscovered for millennia. He was then immediately slapped on the back of his head with a loud 'pa' by the Village Head.
"You fool! Watch that face of yours! How shameless! Hmph!" reprimanded the Village Head.
"Eeeyy eeyyy what is wrong with you! You senile old man! Don't tell me that you don't get excited too with the things our Lord could take out from his world? Hmph! You are the shameless one!" replied Gosu with a cold harrumphed.
He thought how this old man was thoroughly acting like a good old fella. He had already caught a glimpse of that deranged smile on this old fool's face for awhile before disappearing in an instant when their Lord made the statement. Did he think the great observant eyes of Gosu would be fooled by his poor acting?
'Chak!' 'piuuuuuuu... Plop!'
The sounds of a walking stick that was thrown into the air and plunged into the nearby pond sounded.
"YOU DAMNED YOUNG BRUTE! HOW DARE YOU DO THIS TO YOUR ELDERLY!"
The Village Head was thoroughly incensed by this Gosu fella now. How dare he stole his walking cane stick and even had the guts to throw it far away! He needed to teach this young man a lesson!
Lifting up his right palm in front of him, the Village Head spoke a sentence:
"Fireball!"
ZOOSHHH!
A goblet of flames flew through the air after it formed out of nothing in front of his palm in but an instant.
PSSHHH!!
"HAHA! you senile old fool! You can't even aim properly! Your fireball spell is too slow!" Gosu jeered on the Village Head with his tongue sticking out.
"YOUU!! COME HERE THIS INSTANT!"
....
As the Village Head and Gosu were busy in their shameful scuffle, Theo was abit dazed. His brains was mind-blowned as of right now.
"Magic! HAHA! I've witnessed real magic!"
Theo was thoroughly overjoyed right now. He knew that in this world there exist magic as the system has a description on it on some of his abilities. But looking at it the first time, he couldn't help but to feel agitated with happiness!
Everyone in his old world before were eager to use magic, but alas, everything was just a fantasy there. But now? Theo could experience what others could not!
Coughing dryly, he threw a side glance towards his butler.
"Sebastian, does this village have a library where it contain books about spells and magic and how to use them?" Theo asked with a casual tone.
"No my Lord... But in my study rooms, I do have several spell books in my collection, although most of them are but low grade." pondered the butler before asking:
"Why do you ask my Lord?" seemingly curious.
Based on his Lord's status, Sebastian had long made a conjecture that this Lord of his should have plenty of strong magic spell in his arsenal. Furthermore, His experience of the unlocking sounds of high tier seals in his head before by Theo had solidified that perception in his head to be as firm as a rock.
Thus, he was puzzled as to why the Lord would suddenly be interested in magic spells before cooking some random wild thoughts.
"Its nothing, I just wanted to browse the level of this world's understanding in the field of magic. Looking through several spell books would do fine. Lead me to your collections now." replied Theo casually, seemingly to meant what he said.
In his mind, he was gleeing how this butler of his would give him free access to spell books for his system to copy and let him learn them. He was truly a genius. Or so he praised himself as.
Hearing this, the butler seemed to reach an epiphany that indeed what he thought was right. His Lord perhaps needed to analyze his magic skills and custom it a little bit to be similar to that of this world. Otherwise, he would get found out as someone from another world which might complicate things for various reasons.
The butler bowed as he lead the way, leaving the two fools alone in their petty struggles.

_Ram_ Heyyyaa fellow daoist and readerss wazzuppp! So I split this chapter into two. I figured that I would spend at least one whole chapter for Theo to learn the magic and get used to it in the next chapter. Look forward to it! :)
