Chapter 95: Meeting with a bunch of crazy people Part 1

Linri spent last night crafting his heist. This way his first time planning a break in so he was not sure if his plan was good or not but at least he was sure that he had accounted for every possibility. Still, he also gave himself some leeway. I mean no plan in the world was 'perfect' so he only had to create a general outline to follow and plan for the worst.

In the morning he got up, as usual, had his breakfast and trained with his father. There still weren't any improvements on his Fire stance but martial arts wasn't something that you learnt in a single day, so he was not really disappointed. I mean he was but that had to do with his ego.

Think about it, he was like a main character from those light novels he read. He transmigrated to a handsome body, a beautiful girl was by his side and he had god given powers which also came with their own difficulties that he had to solve. Isn't every generic main character just like this? The answer was yes they were exactly like that. So he couldn't help but be hopeful that he would have talent in martial arts and learn everything in a single day but the reality was not as sugar-coated as that.

At 8 pm Linri left home to 'meet' his friends. He was a little bit nervous but there was nothing he could do about it. Anyone in his position would be nervous like him. Maybe nervous wasn't the right word. Maybe he was a little expectant towards this meeting.

Linri arrived at the location that Hayato informed him. It was a house located in the suburbs. The neighbourhood looked dodgy so I guess it was the best place to be if you wanted to lay low. There were no lights coming from the house so he was not sure if this was really the right place. It was times like these that Linri wished that his thermal vision. Actually does thermal vision really let you see through walls with the discrepancy of different heat signatures? He was not sure but at least in the RP club, it was accepted so it should work the same in here right?

Linri walked up and rang the doorbell. There was no answer so he rang the doorbell again. Seeing that there wasn't any answer yet again he decided to ring the bell one last time and if no one opens it he was going to leave and call Hayato.

When he rang it for the last time the door suddenly opened and a hand popped out of the darkness and grabbed him. Even with his 1.5 Above-average agility, Linri did not have time to react to it because of the surprise factor so the hand successfully grabbed him by the throat and pulled him inside immediately closing the door behind him.

The owner of the hand slammed Linri towards the wall. Because of the darkness inside the corridor, Linri could not see the assailant's face but through the partial light, he could see his arm. It was covered in tattoos so Linri figured out who it was.

The hand kept strangling Linri's throat but there was no expression of Pain on his face, only curiosity.

"Selim! WHAT THE FUCK do you think you are doing?!! LET HIM GO!"

A girl with scarlet red hair appeared on the corridor and shouted at his assailant whose name was Selim. Her hair was long and wavy it extended to his waist. It almost looked like a mane. She also had the right curves in the right places. Maybe the only thing lacking would be her breast area which could be called a B cup at most. Her fashion sense was also a little weird. She was dressed in a leather jacket that didn't cover her belly button and jet black pants. In the middle of summer, she was actually wearing boots covered with spikes. The only thing missing was probably tattoos.

I mean sure she looked like your general metal head but the weird thing was she dressed in these clothes in summer. Linri was pretty sure that the metal heads had their own dress-codes for summer. She seemed like she was trying too hard to seem like a bad girl and that was actually a pretty good description of her.

"SHUT THE FUCK UP LESLIE! I want to see if this pig squeals"

Yeah, the girl with scarlet hair's name was Leslie. She was another one of Diego's characters. She was also a member of the deal with the devil situation but this time it was not her that made the deal. It was her parents. They were devout believers of Satan, in other words, they were the so-called Satanists. So Leslie grew up in a cult but because she did not believe in Satan her parents sacrificed her to the devils. Leslie did not know what happened in the ritual but once she regained her consciousness she found out that her chest was not ripped open any more and her parents along with everyone in the cult was dead. She had also gained the powers of demons. She could transform part of her body to gain attributes. This kind of transformation abilities was called fake attribute holders. Arkady was also in this category. Those in this category were not as strong as pure attribute holders but they were more versatile as they could add points to the necessary attributes when they needed them.

"I SAID STOP!" Leslie's arm started to wriggle and transform into something. Her whole arm became black and there were bulges all over it. Also, she had 3 fingers instead of 3. She was getting ready to punch Selim in the face when she was stopped by someone. It was Hayato. Well, that was weird and unsettling.

Selim started to laugh maniacally and kept on strangling him. His face was starting to turn blue so it was starting to get annoying. Worst of all he was going to have bruises around his neck, it was going to be such a chore to explain them to his mom. Maybe he can sneak out some of that magical balm and apply it to his neck and hope that it heals before morning. Linri's vision started to fade to black. Oops, he wasted too much time thinking that he was about to suffocate.

So Linri with great effort grabbed the hand on his neck. To the onlookers, it seemed like a last ditch effort but he himself knew it was not. He was the natural counter to Selim's ability that was the whole reason why he had not panicked from the start.

Once Linri grabbed the arm and started to freeze it with both his hands. Selim shrieked in pain and immediately tried to let go but Linri had already encased both his hand and Selim's arm in ice. Following that he pulled Selim to himself and gave him a head butt. Linri's forehead started to bleed. Selim got disoriented but there was a slight smile on his face. This god-damn battle junkie was actually enjoying his current predicament. So Linri did what every man would do in his position. He kicked Selim in the groin.

Selim's face turned white and he grabbed his groin with his free hand. It was then that Linri manipulated the ice and freed his own hand.

"*Cough* *Cough* Well that was a dick move." Linri gasped for air while holding his own neck. He looked towards the Hayato who was watching from the sidelines.

"I needed to see what you were capable of and I can't say that I am impressed." Hayato said while shrugging.

"*Wheeze* Really now? Then let me see how you deal with a freak that is capable of phasing through stuff." Linri quipped back sarcastically.

That was Selim's power. Thanks to the tattoos on his arms and chests he could phase through inorganic matter. Sorta like the shadow cat from the R-men series. So if Linri had panicked and tried to impale Selim with his Icicle Strike it would have just phased through him and he would have wasted his prana for nothing.

Selim was from the shamanistic tribes of the middle-east. He had a Turkish descent and he was one of the prodigies of his tribe. However, he had one bad trait and that was his bloodthirst. From childhood, he always liked to kill animals. Eventually, during one of the sparring sessions, he accidentally killed his opponent. Actually, it couldn't really be called an accident since he was aware of what he was doing but whatever. The end result was he was exiled from his tribe but Selim saw that as being released from his cage so it did not take long for him to become a mercenary and get paid for killing people.

"Stop with the childish act. I thought we had things to talk about. So is this the guy?" Linri could not see the face behind the voice but he could see his eyes. They were ice blue so he could guess who it was. So Linri composed himself and straightened his back.

"Yeah, I am 'the guy'. The name is Linri Harclaw so let's get cooking shall we?"
