So she almost joined and even brought Iesha on a whim only to have a chance of getting crippled here as she wasn't truly intent on pushing over Tanya to gain the inheritance? She wondered if she should lower her self-esteem in order to be careful, but she then shook her head.

Just because the Frostcloud Sword Empress said that she would save them from the fate of being crippled doesn't necessarily mean that she would be crippled.
