Chapter 8: Chapter 7 Sins of the past

After piercing her throat, Diana collapsed flying on her back in a pool of her own blood. Shinta's eye's widened in shock and despair, his world was shattered his life entirely ruined. Suddenly Shinta snapped "AHHHHHH!!!!" his fist's clenched as he howled in fury, his face darkens he was consumed by rage.

Shinta regained his focus and made his resolve he rushed through his home and packed whatever supplies he could find. In a hurry he took his father's short sword, arming himself than rushed off to the Crane clan's sacred grounds.

After several hours of running through the wilderness, Shinta finally arrived at the sacred grounds that held the tomb of his ancestors. Shinta paused here for some time to catch his breath, after 10 minutes of rest, he pressed on heading east to find the hidden shack his mother mentions before killing herself.

Eventually, he came across an old shack made of hai with a brown roof and black door, Shinta had reached his destination. After a moments pause, he slowly approached the black door, after probing his surroundings, he opened the door and walked inside.

What he saw was a black chest next to a table that had a stack of parchment and a chair, before opening the chest Shinta decided to look at them, so he had sat at the table and held the first page. However, after viewing the contents of this page, Shinta's eye's widened and then started to shed tears.

"To my beloved son Shinta if you are reading this, then my heart is broken, and I'm already dead. I prayed to the heavens that the day you read this would never come to pass. But alas, I must reveal to you the truth of my actions. The suffering and hardships that you are going through now and in the future. Long ago when I was but a young teenager and long before you were born the Crane clan, and my Eagle clan were always at war clashing with one another. My one soul upbringing was to train and the martial way, gain strength to one day destroy the Crane Clan. I do not know the cause of how this conflict started nor why it existed. For so long, when I asked my father Doris Eagle, your grandfather, he always said that the war began with our ancestors and the grudge never wavered till this day. Eventually, I grew tired of dwelling on old grudges and a meaningless conflict with another clan. As time went on, I tried to appeal to the elders and my father to end this needless conflicts and to let go of the hate that causes harm. No good came of it, my clan punished me for speaking out of turn and slandering the ancestors. 10 lashes by the whip the pain was unbearable. However, I still felt at peace from speaking my mind, and those lashes only served to strengthen my resolve to become stronger so that I could one day force my clan to change by force.

One day I felt my life change, a slave trader visited my clan to show his wares to the clan members.

The slavers first item for sale was a woman of ethnic origins. She was a princess of a desert tribe in the eastern lands, she had light brown skin a slender figure, long beautiful black hair and blue eyes, and her name was Cassandra. What I saw was no slave, but a goddess her gaze made my heart skip a beat I don't know what came over me, but I just had to have her, so I used my father's influence to purchase her. As time went by, Cassandra and I grew ever so closer, we ended up in an intimate relationship. I was so happy I felt that I have indeed found my soul mate a person I could spend the rest of my life with, you may be too young to understand what I'm talking about. Still, one day as you grow, you will understand my words. However, one day, my father and mother and the hole eagle clan found out about my relationship with Cassandra. And we were both scorned for it they said my love for Cassandra was a sin. If I didn't sever my ties with Cassandra, I would be disowned and cast out from eagle clan. I didn't care; I told them I would accept my exile. Still, they disregarded my word's and imprisoned me along with my lover Cassandra in the Eagle clan jails. I didn't mind too much because I was in the same cell as Cassandra. I felt that as long she and I were together, I didn't care about anything else. Then one day, my father came along with other elders and told me I was to marry your father. If I did not obey, they would give Cassandra a fate worse than death and have me watch as the clan torments her every day. Alas, I had no choice but to obey for the sake of the woman I loved. I had no opportunity but to comply with, there demands over the years. Even now I don't know if the Eagle clan held true to there words and kept Cassandra safe. Shinta I have failed you as a mother I never deserved your love, I will not be mad if you hate me for the rest of your life. I left you a bank card with my life's savings in the chest in front of you there is enough money there for you to live the rest of your life comfortably, its least I could do for you. Shinta I will always love you and hope that you live a carefree, happy life. However, I know you don't have any obligations to your mother's final request, but I hope one day if you become strong enough. Please save Cassandra and make sure she has a happy life, I know its selfish of me, but I pray that you fulfil your mother's dying wish, if not then so be it, I will always love you.

Your Mother Diana Crane.

Shinta trembled on the spot, his tears wouldn't stop flowing out. He fell to his knee's struggling to comprehend all that has happened and all that he has learned. As moments passed, Shinta realised the reason her mother did all this and killed herself was that she was forced by the eagle clan. His tear turned to pure fury, he stood up and march out of the Hut "Eagle Clan... Eagle clan I Swear to the Deathgod I will bath your clan In BLOOD!" he howled to the skies.

"Careful what you say, boy, such words can not be said likely." a voice in the air called out to him.

Shin unsheathed his sword hastily" Who is it!" he yelled

"I'm over here boy" the grew louder and came from a tree, Shinta looked up and saw a black crow with Red eyes staring at him, Shinta felt a chill down his spine " who are you!?" he gasped.

The crow flew down and landed a few feet in front Shinta than was engulfed in a Dark, sinister light. Suddenly a beautiful slender fair-skinned woman with long black hair and red eye's, in a long black dress made of black feathers appeared. Shinta was stunned at sight, he was struck the beauty of this being before him.

The woman smiled "my name is Crow, and I couldn't help but overhear you saying you'd swear to me that you would bath the Eagle clan in blood."

Shinta was taken aback "what are you talking about I swore to the death god of this world, not some bird who can turn into a human!?" he firmly retorted

The woman laughed "haha hahaha! Indeed you did swear to the death god" she said then snapped her finger's suddenly the surroundings of Shinta and the woman was engulfed into darkness.

Shinta was startled he began looking around his surrounding's. Noticing he was in a very dark space yet the Hutt was still behind him. "what happened!?" he yelled.

the woman smirked at him "there is no need to be frightened dear boy I transported you to my realm, of the death god."

Shinta couldn't stop shaking "you, you're the death, god?" he asked nervously.

"Indeed I am indeed the death god, but like I said my name is a crow," she said in a really cutesy voice. Shinta couldn't believe what was happening before him when he said he swore to the death god; it was only a figure of speech to vent how angry he was.

Crow stared at him profoundly "Shinta Crane is your name and... I see it's no wonder you had the qualifications to call out to me" she chuckled "this is good very good indeed" Crow couldn't stop smiling.

Shinta was puzzled "what.. How do you know my name and what do you mean qualification?" he asked sceptically.

Crow ignored his question. "boy becomes mine, and I will grant you power and knowledge that all mortals can only dream of attaining. Power and knowledge that will allow you to easily crush those who wronged you, what say you." she spoke sternly.

Hearing her word's was like a thunderclap to his ear's. He thought to himself 'I already lost my father and mother, my clan is in a dire state what more do I have to lose'. He gazed up at the goddess of death before him "I accept your offer!" he said with firm resolve.

Crows nodded in satisfaction "raise your hand Shinta" without any hesitation Shinta raised his right hand facing his palm to crow. Crow waved her hand. Suddenly Shinta felt a burning sensation on the palm of his hand "argh!" he cried out crow chuckled "don't worry its only a sting and only last's a moment."

The pain stopped, and Shinta looked at this palm and noticed a black mark in the shape of a crows head. Crow spoke " now you are mine both body and soul, now for the next 30 years you shall remain here in my realm well I train you In the power of both the sword and the pen." she said passively as to what she said was no big deal at all.

Shinta cried out " 30 years how do you expect me to wait 30 years for revenge. By the time I'm done training my revenge won't be justified, if I wait 30 years for it, people will laugh at me saying why did I wait so long. !? and I won't be able to refute them!?. The people I want revenge on will probably die from old age!?" he yelled frustratedly.

Crow giggled at him " don't worry 30 years in my realm is only a little over 3 years in the mortal world, so by the time we are done, you'll be 13 years old, after 30 years ill send you back to the mortal realm."

Shinta sighed in relief "thank god I was worried there for a moment."

Crow glared at him "What did you just say" she said while staring daggers at him

Shinta soon realised he had misspoken. " ahh thank the death god, I worried." he corrected himself.

Crown vanish than prepared crouched down in front of him holding him in her embrace." good boy I am the only god that you are allowed to worship you are mine. You belong to me, now sleep" after she finished her sentence Shinta lost consciousness and fell against crows shoulder resting his head.

Crow's eye's saddened for a moment " don't worry child rest today tomorrow your training will begin." with that Crow carried Shinta over her shoulder. Snapped her fingers, and both crow and the boy Shinta Vanished into thin air.
