Chapter 85: War
After suiting up I grab my blade and pour my power into it waking it up from it's slumber. "You will have lots of blood this time old friend." I say with a dark smile as I feel the blade answer with joy. I mount my dragon and ride out.
The troops are ready and waiting. Thousands of fae line up on their dragons making it a sight to see. We haven't had a war in hundreds of years so the men are itching to battle. The surrounding villages close their gates preparing for the upcoming battle not wanting to get caught up into it. They can feel the magic growing stronger and hear the cries of the dragons.
The mages stood towards the back but lined up making a long straight line behind the troops. They all lowered their hoods revealing their markings and their blue glowing eyes. Soon they began chanting. As Ryder's troops grow closer and closer it causes the ground to start shaking. Large powerful blast of pure energy shoot out from the mages and into Ryder's troops.
I lift an eyebrow and smirk.. that was a nice little trick. I raise my sword and the surrounding troops cry out ready to attack. When the enemies grow close enough I give the signal. Hundreds of fae take off colliding in battle. I stay back and look for Ryder. I find him sitting back and watching with a smirk. I grit my teeth and fly over avoiding the other battles happening.
"You have a lot of nerve to show up looking for war Ryder!" I say coming to a stop in front of him. "You took something that belongs to me, of course I'd come to take it back." Ryder says with a growl. "Yours? Hah! Syn in my woman Ryder.. you know this. Whatever you're trying to do won't work. But since you are begging for death I will give you just that!"
I shift away from my dragon as Ryder shifts meeting me in midair. The impact from us hitting causes a wave of power that knocks over the fae under us. I fly back and drop to the ground in shock.. Ryder drops down in front of me and gives me a dark smile that doesn't reach his black eyes. Black eyes... "What have you done Ryder?" I ask frowning.
"Me? I sold my soul.. it was a useless thing away. Now I have unlimited strength and can crush you and anyone else that gets in my way." Ryder says with a hollow laugh. I tighten my grip on my sword and activate my Runes causing my eyes to light up. "Hahaha!! Even that won't help you this time Rune. Face it, this is your end!" Ryder says and attacks.
I lift my sword and block the blow and feel myself flying backwards tearing up the ground in the process. I grit my teeth and stand my ground. "Even if you sell your soul.. it won't be enough to beat me." I say through gritted teeth sending a blast of power out hitting Ryder.
