Chapter 75: The Pit Part Five
I'm unsure of how long we've been down here now but I'm pretty sure it's been a day or two... Or at least it feels that way. After closing my eyes I drift off to sleep and only wake up when I hear a familiar clicking noise. I wake Fig up and he quickly crawls up to my shoulder to hide in my stiff hair. I find that all the blood and goo was now dry and had created a semi hard sticky mess that smelt horrible.
I didn't move not wanting to let the thing know I was here but was surprised when I saw it backing away after smelling the air. I frown but sigh in relief. Either it was just too stinky for the creepy thing or the smell of the larger creature was enough to keep it away in fear. I didn't have enough energy to care. I find myself curling into a ball as my eye lids grow heavier. I'm so tired.. Rune..

Stuff flies through the air as Rune throws his entire desk at the shadow guards. "Why can't you find them!?" Rune yells as he paces back and forth. He hadn't slept since she was taken and was currently using every resource he has to look for her but they still couldn't find her.. none of them. It doesn't make sense!
He runs his hands through his long hair as he tries to make sense of everything. How could they take her from within my territory? How!? And how was it they could completely disappear without a trace. It was like back in the day with... Rune comes to a stop as he starts connecting the dots. No.. it couldn't be.. they were no longer around.. but it would explain everything.
It would be stupid to think it was impossible for witches to survive.. They were the only ones who could disappear without a trace.. block everything.. control magic in ways that no other fae can. His face is one of shock and horror as he slowly sits down. "Witch.. it's a witch. Ryder has a witch and they now have Syn..."
Ren sucks in as his eyes flash. Everyone in the room knew what this means as they all feel a sense of helplessness come over them. "Contact the mages in the north.. Tell them I will give them anything they want if they can assist us in finding Syn.." Rune says in a low voice. Ren nods and shifts away. Rune lowers his head into his hands as he hopes with everything in him that she's okay.. She has to be. He can still feel her fingers on his as his mind slips back to the moment she was taken. He clenches his fist cracking his knuckles in the process. I'm coming for you love..
Chapter 76: The Pit Part Six
I jerk awake when I here laughter from a child and I quickly realize I'm still in the pit. I sigh and shake my head.. It must have been a dream but when I look down I see Fig sitting straight up looking down the long dark hall. Did he hear the laugh? Was it not in my head?
"Fig... Did you hear the laughter?" I whisper and he moves closer to me and nods his head saying "Yes... Unfortunately.." I swallow hard and pull myself up. I decide to head away from the laughter knowing there wouldn't be children down here and if there was... they wouldn't be laughing.
I slowly walk down the long dark hallway until it opens up to a large open area. It was too dark to see everything clearly but I could tell it was large. I walk further into the dark room and find myself hoping and praying I don't run into another creature of some kind but my hopes and prayers aren't answered as I hear the child's laughter again but right behind us.
I spin around but see nothing. Fig digs his little claws into my shoulder as the room begins to feel colder. The laughter begins to echo around the large room making it impossible to find where it's coming from. "Come and play with me.. hehehe." The child like voice says and I grit my teeth. I will never be able to go to haunted houses ever again..
"Play with the child..." Says a raspy voice from behind us and I jump. I spin around and see nothing as the laughter breaks out again. Only this time the laughter of the child and the raspy voice joined as one overlapping each other. I shiver as I realize the voices are coming from the same creature. It was toying with us...
I slowly start walking backwards while listening for the creature but step on something in the process. It's squishy.. I gasp and jump back as hundreds of cockroaches run from the mound on the ground. I'm pretty sure I do a little shimmy dance batting the roaches off me with shaky hands. I HATE this place!!!
The laughter picks up and echoes around Fig and I as I snap "Shut up!" The laughter cuts off and silence surrounds us and suddenly I regret telling it to shut up... I start hearing whispers and there are different voices.. too many to count but all coming from the same creature making my skin crawl. The air around Fig and I had become so cold we start shivering.
