Ryder looks like a cat who just caught a mouse as his smile grows. My intuition was telling me that this was worse.. worse than death. I take several steps back as Ryder comes closer. Amusement colors his face at my reaction and steps closer. I jump when I back into the wall and I try and pull at my power but nothing comes.
Ryder's smile grows and blocks me against the wall watching me in a creepy manner. His long finders reach out and gently traces my jaw and continues down to my exposed chest as he says "You can either help me willingly or I can make you.. I have ways of making you see things my way Syn.. So, what will it be?" He was now so close we looked as if we were an intimate couple.
My legs were about to give out but luckily my anger had given me a little bit of strength "There is nothing you can do or say that will have me "seeing things your way." I say standing my ground. He pauses looking into my eyes then gives me a look of awe. "You truly believe that.. You're so incredible naïve my dear.. I used to be the same way, until I saw things for how they truly are. I will show you Syn. I will show you the truth."
He leans in like he was going to kiss me and I quickly turn my head causing him to stop and laugh. It was low and dangerous. "I can smell him on you.. I can smell his mark on you but fear not, I will still have you as my own." He only waits another second or two before walking away and saying "I'll see you at dinner." He walks out of the room and only after the door closes do I loose what little strength I have and slide down to the floor fighting back my tears.
Fig jumps out from my hair and says "It's okay Syn, we'll find a way out of this I promise. If he had gotten any closer to kissing you I would have chewed his face off!!" His little body was all fluffed up and trembling. I scoop him up and hold him close saying "No Fig, If Ryder does do anything like that you must promise not to do anything.. I wouldn't be able to stop him from hurting you Fig. Please promise me." Fig doesn't say anything and I hold him tighter. I need to find a way out.
