Chapter 11: Chapter 11 A day in 1808
The timeline that they were in was not like the one they were from the word was so old fashioned no proper vehicles for them to travel in so they had to use horse carriages. Jack was waiting inside one as Ava came out of the mansion after preparing for today. Jack yawned as Ava got into the carriage "Clothing from the Georgian era is quite fancy and the stuff we have is quite comforting but I do miss modern style clothing" said Jack as tried making sure his collar was straight. "It's not all bad i quite like being known as a lady of a noble household in this era" Ava replied as she looked in the mirror to make sure she was adequate enough for today. "Driver take us to town is you please" Jack said to the driver "Very well young master Jack off we go" the driver replied in a positive mood.
"Jack did you forget your gloves, you can't just go into town and let people see your injury" Ava angrily told Jack. "Don't worry" replied Jack, suddenly stellar matter from Jack's gauntlets materialized into gloves "A little trick Jonathan taught me, he wants me to keep the matter with me at all times in case of a Shinigami attack. Ava sighed as the carriage set off, both of them looked out of the window to see a bright peaceful world it was hard to imagine that Shinigami even existed it was a good thing that the alliance was holding it at bay even in this timeline. "Well then plan for today is for us to firstly head off town there were going to do some shopping as well as that grab some lunch, after lunch we will go to the opera house for a while then we can go swimming down at the lake and finish the day with a stroll through the countryside. How does that sound Jack?" Ava asked with excitement only to find Jack sitting down completely asleep. Flustered with anger she went to punch him but then the driver spoke up.
"Ho ho, listen lass it' be best if you let him him sleep the second you wake him up he's gonna think you're in a bad mood all day young couples shouldn't be fighting for no reason just wake him up once we arrive he will have much more energy for your date and trust me you'd rather he be fully awake for it than have him falling asleep halfway through." said the driver as he chuckled at them both. "Young c-c-couple… d-d-date, no were not like that were just friends" replied Ava as her face went red. "Listen you may as well accept it you have feelings for him and you will find them one day, but for now heed my advice and let him sleep it will be much better if he gets it now" replied the driver as he sighed at Ava's denial. "Feelings for Jack" Ava quietly muttered to herself as she looked at a sleeping Jack.
The carriage slowly came to a halt as the driver told Ava "Were here you can wake the young master up now i'll be waiting for the both of here at 8, also have a good time madam". Ava woke Jack up and they both stepped out of the carriage, the two of them started to walk through town, Ava suddenly held Jack's arm as they approached the shop. "Why are you grabbing onto me like that?" Jack asked confused at what she was doing "I just don't want you to go wander off and what's wrong with holding your arm it been forever since the two of us went out" Ava replied as she got even closer to Jack. The both of them approached the shopping centre in town.
Upon arrival they firstly headed to a jewelry shop where the both of them decided to buy each other gifts and give them to each other later on. After that they headed down to a clothes shop where Jack decided to purchase some suits for him, Theo and Jonathan but as well as that he noticed an armor set which he found quite peculiar seeing as this was a clothes shop. The store clerk came up to him and said "That there is a quite the find young master, though it may be in a clothes shop that armor is actually rumored to be the last of the armors the knights of the roundtable used legend has it was used by Sir Arthur himself. Of course this legend is just old folk tale however the armor is quite strong if you are interested". Jack thinking that this would be nice to have at the mansion decided to buy it. Ava suddenly came out of the dressing room wearing a black dress with silver silk highlights she approached Jack and in a seductive manner asked "How do I look?". Jack stood their admiring her beauty this may have been the first time he actually saw her as a woman as he replied "B-beautiful" Ava then said "I'll take this then" as she went back to the dressing room. "So that be your lady?" asked the clerk "Yes she is" Jack replied still hypnotized by the sight of her, suddenly realising what he said he quickly changed his answer to "No, not in that way I mean we're just friends". The clerk quietly laughed at Jack as he packed their items and they left.
Whilst wondering where to eat Jack noticed a small dining establishment, it looked very familiar to him only then he realised that back in the original timeline that this was one of his favourite places to eat. The fact was this place had been opened from the time in which they currently resided and stood the way it does in the present day. He looked at Ava carrying a load of bags full of clothes, he grabbed them for her and then directed the way to lunch.
"I remember this place back in the present day isn't this where you would always go to get lunch when you were out in town" Ava said as she noticed the resemblance of the building. "Hopefully they have food in this time that's just as good as the food we have in our time." replied Jack as he grabbed and menu and directed a waiter to them. Both of them ordered briefly, the food arrived to the table shortly after they ordered it turned out the restaurant in this time was very similar to what they would typically order in their time. Jack had ordered some chicken plated in a vegetable salad whilst Ava ordered a vegetable salad and a mushroom pie. The two of them looked at each other remembering when they and their friends would come out here to get a meal together and realised it would be some time before they could return to that life they once lived.
Soon after eating the pair of them made their way to the opera house, seeing as they were high members of society they had very ample seating. Though they both enjoyed the showing Ava had fell asleep onto Jack's shoulder, he decided to not disturb her and continued watching and listening to the show. Soon it was time to leave the opera house, however Jack noticed that Ava was still sleeping. He decided to carry her to the lake where they had planned to go swimming, though it was not easy carrying her, all the luggage and a set of armor he miraculously managed. Once he got there he put Ava down to rest and stipped down into his swimming suit, he looked at a sleeping Ava and smiled. Suddenly he jumped into the water at full power splashing Ava in water forcing her to wake up.
"You idiot what do you think you're doing!!!" Ava screamed as she was covered in water. Jack started laughing and said "Well don't fall asleep for so long". Ava suddenly remembered how Jack had decided to fall asleep in the carriage earlier and got an angered grin on her face. She stripped down to her swimming suit and in retaliation jumped into the water and splashed it over Jack. "I guess we're even now" she replied whilst laughing her head off at Jack's annoyance of being covered in water. "You've done it now" Jack casually replied. Jack started throwing water onto Ava as she retaliated the same way. For the rest of the time they continued to mess around in the lake until they realised the time.
With whatever time was left they decided to walk through the countryside holding each other arm in arm. Both of the approached the carriage tired from the long day, they set off back to the mansion. They had thought this was a nice little outing they had for today as they sat together, being tired they decided to lean and each other and get some shut eye. The driver suddenly said "Forgive me". He grew blackened wings, fear arose in both of their eyes it was a Shinigami spy sent to kill them. Jack materialized his blades as he pierced one of the wings, but it was too late. The Shinigami jumped off the carriage leaving them to in it, suddenly the carriage went off road and fell down a cliff....
