Chapter 65: Chapter 178 : The Start of Forever
Three weeks later.
John wiped his nonexistent tears as he tried to fix Yi Fei's dress.
"My honey is married now. I am the only one left" John sat on the floor like a heartbroken maiden while he tried to straighten the long tail of the wedding dress. He looked so pitiful as if nobody cares about him in the whole world.
"Johnny, is it okay if I don't wear such a long tail? What if someone stepped on it and I fall? Isn't it bad for me?" Yi Fei did not want to use such a long tail, but upon seeing how John looked so sad on the floor, she did not have the heart to ask him to remove the tail.
At first, Yi Fei suggested a double wedding with NaNa, but Wu Chen insisted on having a separate wedding so that Yi Fei could shine alone during their wedding day. NaNa agreed with Wu Chen's suggestion. That's why Yi Fei was having her wedding on Saturday and NaNa will have her the next day on Sunday.
The door opened, and Wu Chen came into the room. Yi Fei was adamant about having John prepared her wedding dress because she promised John since their university days. John was so secretive about it that even Yi Fei was not allowed to look at the dress before today.
This would be the first time for Wu Chen to see Yi Fei in her secret wedding gown. He stopped in his track as he saw his wife in the wedding dress. Time seemed to stop as Wu Chen stared at his wife and his heart stopped beating for a fraction of a second.
There are a lot of beautiful things in life, and Yi Fei is one of them. And he was so damn lucky to have her.
The memories of him and Yi Fei came to him like a crashing wave. He forgot which one came first; Yi Fei or the dream of forever.
"Chen Chen" Yi Fei smiled at Wu Chen who looked as if he was in a trance. "John is going all out for this dress. Do you like it?" Yi Fei tried walking towards Wu Chen slowly as the wedding dress was heavy and it seemed to drag her down.
"No wonder those brides in the movies sauntered. It's because this dress is so heavy. I thought they were being nostalgic and purposely walking slow to reminisce their lovely time" Yi Fei took Wu Chen's hand. "Let's go".
Wu Chen jolted out from his trance and looked at the beautiful bride beside him. Then, he kissed her without any warning.
"Arghhh, makeup! Makeup! You are going to ruin my masterpiece." John was shouting while still sitting on the floor. He tried to stand up, but his leg gave away as he has been sitting for quite sometimes.
John fell pathetically, and that stopped Wu Chen from kissing the bride.
"What's wrong with him?" Wu Chen just realised that someone else was in the room with them. He was too preoccupied with his beautiful wife that he failed to notice other people in the room.
"He is brokenhearted because NaNa and I got married. He feels like we leave him behind". Yi Fei helped John to stand up. "Don't worry Johnny; this sister will throw the bouquet of flower to your direction. Make sure you catch it okay."
Yi Fei patted John's shoulder and took Wu Chen's hand. Both of them walked out together to the reception room.
The day after Wu Chen and Yi Fei did the deed, Wu Chen brought Yi Fei to register their marriage. So they only had the marriage reception today to celebrate their new life as husband and wife.
As Wu Chen and Yi Fei stood near the entrance while waiting for the master of ceremony to announce their arrival, Wu Chen squeezed Yi Fei's hand and looked her in the eyes.
"Shen Yi Fei, I love you".
Yi Fei smiled because she knew.
"Let's grow old together". Wu Chen kissed the back of her hand.
As if on cue, the light shined upon both of them as the master of ceremony announced the arrival of Mr and Mrs Shen.

I am a bit sad as I am writing the end of IIL.
For those who didn't know, IIL is my first work (my precious baby). After contemplating for a few years, I started writing IIL in 2018.
This story is not perfect. My first language is not English, so do forgive the grammatical mistakes here and there.
I have been delaying on writing this story because I am not willing to accept the fact that it reaches the end. I fell in love with Yi Fei, Wu Chen, NaNa and Jun Liu, not to forget John, while writing this book.
I am now in the middle of writing my second story - Not At First Sight. Do give it a chance.
Despite the irregular update, I want to thank everyone who read IIL. As of March, I am trying to update as much as I could since I am not so busy starting March.
Just so you know, all the comments and reviews you all left/write to me (good or bad), I read all of them even though I didn't reply to everyone. I'll take the compliments and criticism to improve more on my writing as I have no training in writing. (I am only writing for fun).
As I have much to say to everyone, I'm afraid that I couldn't find the word close enough to say what's on my mind.
