Chapter 6: Rick Jones POV
Finally, Dr. Sullivan comes and pick her back, I feel relieved. Well, don't blame me for that. It's not my ignorance but I really can't disturb by unclear things. The murder in the hotel room case already makes my head dizzy, please don't add more headache.
But God seems not hear my pray. Several minutes later, Sam phone ringing, it's Dr. Sullivan who called him. Of course I can his conversation because i sit in front of him. After a little pleasantry, Dr. Sullivan inform us that girl was missing. Oh my God! Is gone missing is her hobbies? Furthermore she is missing in woods area near hospital. C'mon, did she want to search the dead body alone? Didn't she worried if the murderer also still there? What a reckless girl! I grab my car keys and rush to parking lot
"Sam hurry up, we got to find her"
Sam hurriedly picks her coat and follows me. We are speeding to get in the woods as soon as possible. When we arrive there, we see Dr. Sullivan standing near empty car on roadside.
After getting information from Dr. Sullivan, I told him to stay there. Well, we deal with a murderer and I can't let any civilian become collateral damage.
Sam, who examine the ground near the empty car show me a track
"Partner, look there. It seems like a heavy object being dragged from here"
"This must be the body's trace if what she said is true"
"You still doubt her?"
"Don't discuss that now. Let's follow this track"
We follow the track into the middle of the woods. When we arrive there, I saw a man holding a shovel and raise it high, want to hit a girl lying in the ground. Without thinking anything else, I charge to that man while shouting "You bastard! What are you doing to her"
He seems surprised with our arrival and can't react on time. I've managed to hit him down with one punch. After he goes down, I immediately check the girl condition. Thank God, although she seems to get hit nothing serious happen to her, still I can't understand what she said. I ask her about her condition, she answer it with talk about mumbo-jumbo spirit things.
Anyways, the man I hit before seems not surrender yet. He tries to stand and hold his shovel as a weapon. Maybe a warning shot will make him realize that resistance is futile. Crap! When I try to pull my gun from my waist, it's not there! I forget to take it from my desk when going here. Ah well, that doesn't mean I will lose just with barehanded. I readied my fist to face him when she suddenly stands up and said weird things. I don't understand what she said, but that man suddenly frightening. He drops his shovel and crawling to me asking for help. He also confesses about what he has done to the woman.
She still said some confusing words about the spirit which make me more confused. Until Sam, who found the dead woman body confirm there's murder case here. So I handcuffed the man and bring him out from the woods. I also ask backup and ambulance from police station.
