Chapter 4: Nightmare
Victor had been reading books for 2 weeks. He mostly read history books and stumbled upon a few helpful maps and got a better idea of the geography of the area. Every day Jessica would bring 3 meals to Victor and he would request more books to read. Jessica was astonished by how much he was reading and mumbled to herself, "His Highness never read any books for as long as I've been his maid. He always detested reading and only ever wanted to train and go out with his other noble friends".
Naturally over this course of time he had been resting and recovering. Because of his crazy stamina, he was almost completely recovered from what would have been a fatal injury to a normal person. "Hmm, guess I am almost done recovering. 'Status' bring up the status window" Victor commanded.

"I guess I will make a full recovery by tomorrow. I should ask father about the mysterious force backing the royal family, because no matter how many books I read, it is never discussed beyond mention", Victor muttered. Night time fell and Victor soon fell asleep.
Suddenly, Victor opened his eyes in fright. He looked around his room, but the darkness cloaked everything. He got up and tried to open his window but it wouldn't budge, even with twice the normal strength of a human. Victor, with beads of sweat dripping down his forehead slowly back towards his bed.
'Creeeeaaak' Out of nowhere the door to his room slowly opened. Victor could see blazing red eyes staring right at him, peering into his very soul and then 'Whoosh'. The eyes disappeared and a sudden burst of pain hit Victor's mind as collapsed. The pain was fiery and intense, like a flame, hell-bent on devouring him whole.
The pain made Victor scream out as loud as he could. When the pain reached a certain point and Victor felt like he was dying he suddenly woke up. Victor, drenched in cold sweat, got out of bed as fast as he could and looked around to see if anyone was around him. After clearing the room Victor sighed in relief, "That was a terrifying nightmare, but what were those red eyes. When I looked at them it felt like my soul was on fire".
Victor slowly climbed back into bed and after making sure the room was clear one last time fell asleep again, this time without any vicious nightmare. In another place in the castle in a deep room a man, in what appeared to be his 20's, with fiery red hair and blazing eyes looked a middle-aged man deeply and said, "Your two sons do not have the necessary talent, brother, however your daughter on the other hand has quite the high talent. She will do for this generation". "Oh thank you brother. Ever since you left I thought I'd never see you again. At least you're still alive, and you don't look like you aged a day over 20", the middle-aged man stated his a cheerful tone evident in his voice. "Well every since I embarked on this path, like those generations before me, we were destined to become different. You will stay and be the king while I and the others strive for greater things".
"Ha ha, brother I am glad for you. you were the one with the talent in out generation. Luckily it was Veronica with the talent and not Lawrence of perhaps this family would have a time of suffering". "Yes, it is quite lucky. Well it doesn't matter now. I will be in the hall tomorrow, so do make sure to introduce me to to your children. I'd love to see my nieces and nephews", the fiery man said. "Will do brother," the middle-aged man said while watching the other man leave the room, "What a shame that only Veronica had the talent. I was sure Victor would have had it too. Well it's too late now". The middle-aged man was in fact the king of Embrie and Victor's father. He walked out of the room and muttered, "If only I was blessed with the talent instead of brother, then I wouldn't be limited to being just a king. I could have become God himself". His eyes burned with raging fires of envy.
