Chapter 256: Easy to Slash

What followed was a one-sided massacre. Ed, without lifting a single finger, killed everyone in front of him. How did he do it? Well, it was rather simple actually. Ed's companions were the ones to enact the attacks. All Ed had to do was redirect their attacks towards the enemies. Ice, Lightning, Shadow, Poison, Fire, Blood, Sword Slashes, Light…thousands of attacks, in the span of a couple of seconds, and Ed managed to follow each and every one of them.

The Space magic portals that appeared in the sky numbered more than the attacks themselves. Ed's concentration was never better. The attacks rained down, and Ed's companions moved into the enemy lines. No one ran, no one hurried their steps. They walked like kings. Fear had set into the hearts of the enemies, and no one dared to approach them. Of course, this was the case of foot soldiers, whose duty was simply to gauge the strength of Ed's group. The true enemies lay behind the army.

Ed and the others stood behind the enemies, and in front of their leaders. A large man moved in front of them. He was filled with muscles and had so little neck, he looked like a turtle. His body looked like a normal human's, except for one thing. His veins were purplish and black. It gave him a sinister look, much like a demon's.

"So this little pipsqueak is the one challenging our sect," he said, with a voice as deep as his neck was thick. "How you've fallen, O' great Sword sect!"

"Those words…The one you sent last time said those same words," Ed looked at the man, who was right in front of him, straight in the eyes. "Do you know what happened to him? He became a splattered mess on our luxurious sect rug. I had to burn it in order to get rid of filth like him. Such a shame…it was such a good rug."

"You…" The man's lips curved into a frown as he raised his hand. His hand looked like a mountain, slowly descending as it approached Ed's face, who continued to make eye contact with the man.

However, something happened that made the leaders behind the man frown. The man's fist continued to slow down, instead of picking up speed. And, at the same rate of slowness, his yellow skin was covered by a white-blue layer of frost. The man's fist stopped short of Ed's face before his whole body became frozen.

"He was frozen?!" a woman, one of the leaders, shouted as if she couldn't believe her eyes. "Who could have done such a thing?! Not even the Ice Empress is capable of such a thing!!"

"Oh, it's not the Ice Empress. It's the one that inherited the weapon, the spirit, and the life of that Empress…Edmund," Ed said, as he looked at Edmund who approached him. "Make this ice sculpture a bit more…fitting."

"As you wish!" Edmund brandished his jet black spear. Like a hungry python or a multi-headed Hydra, the spear struck dozens of times in a single second. Bits and pieces of the man flew into the sky, as his jet black flood, which was frozen, turned into a decoration in front of Ed. Edmund transformed the entire man into ice shavings.

"You people enjoy poison, don't you?" Ed said as he raised his hand and put it in front of him. "Enjoy this, then." He released a wave of wind that sent the obviously poisonous blood towards the twenty…nineteen leaders of Poison sect which remained. All of them jumped away in order to dodge the man's remains. All except one.

"I see," the master of Poison sect remained still, with a glass filled with a purple liquid, seemingly poison. "The little girl that couldn't lift a single finger when I killed her mother, chose to bare her fangs at me today…HAHAHA, how fitting!" The incoming ice particles melted into nothing before coming into contact with the man, Sarin.

One of the leaders switched direction and flew towards Ed. However, someone else stood in front of him and blocked him from his target.

"You can't get to our master so easily," Asem said as he knocked the man away using his Katana, which was previously Alexander's.

"Tch!" The leader grunted as he re-established his balance.

"Suika, go with him," Ed said, to which Suika replied, "Suu!" as she transformed into her ball form and hung on Asem's shoulder.

"Everyone, choose your opponents however you see fit. None of them are stronger than Immortal Establishment level 5. The strongest one is their leader, and he is level 10," Ed said as he grabbed his Shusui. Every one of his companions turned to look at him, as they were worried after hearing the cultivation level of Sarin. Ed smiled, and said, "Leave him to me!"

"And me as well," Emilia interrupted Ed's step in. "It is my duty to fight him. You won't say no, right?" Emilia smiled with her sword giving off a visible chilly air, which remained after freezing the man from before.

"Of course not. Then, I hope you'll support me from behind!"

"I'd be glad to!"

"Uhm," Goburou's blood clone came from behind Ed, tapped him on his shoulder, and said, "You two can flirt later, but you should fight for now."

"Hahaha! What a funny group. It would be a shame to kill you all," Sarin said as he gulped down the liquid inside his glass in one go. "Now, shall we begin?!"

"Certainly!" Ed blasted his KI, by activating 'Berserk', to Immortal Establishment level 7. Just as the gust of wind, which erupted from his body, cleared remains of the poison ice particles, he activated his Ren. His aura became so concentrated, that even those with no Nen, were almost able to see it.

He crouched down and held Shusui with both hands near his waist. He stepped in toward Sarin, and with an immense power, slashed at him. However, Sarin reacted normally, as if it was a normal day for him, and withdrew his sword. After which he simply…blocked Ed's katana.

"I'm not so easy to slash, young Avalon," he claimed.

"I see…Then allow to try it once more," Ed said with a smile on his face. He teleported away, back to his original spot and took the same stance once again. Ed's companions, and Sarin's companions. Both of them remained fixated at the two, forgetting their own fight.

Then, as if repeating the same thing as before, Sarin blocked Ed's katana…or so he thought. The katana disappeared from Ed's hand for a moment, the moment where it would have been blocked, and reappeared after passing the sword. Ed slashed Sarin's abdomen and drew blood.

"Indeed, you're not easy to slash."

Chapter 257: Poison

"Hahaha! Indeed you're an interesting brat," Sarin said, disregarding the wound on his stomach. His clothes didn't matter to him at all, as he wore a long coat, with an open shirt under it. "But, you're not good enough."

A sudden burst of energy forced Ed's knee to hit the ground. He felt suffocated and couldn't draw his breath. He was subjugated to so much force, that his organs shifted out of their place, his ears started to ring, and his nose bled. However, Ed didn't yield, instead, he turned his aura to the maximum and countered the attack.

"Oh, you didn't turn into a splatter," Sarin said in a disappointed tone as Ed backed away. "Too bad, you would have made quite the art piece."

"Unfortunately for you, I've never been a fan of art." Once again, Ed rushed towards his enemy, slashing dozens of times per second. Yet, each slash was met with an equally powerful parry and block…sometimes, a counterattack was mixed inside.

As the two crossed swords, Ed ducked down out of nowhere, surprising the Poison sect's master. His surprise turned into a sense of foreboding danger, as he felt harm coming his way. Then, as if answering his senses, dozens of icicles targeted his head. If not for his quick thinking, he would have sustained unwanted injuries, but he managed to break all of them by using a QI wave.

"Little girl, I know you are impatient, but you should know what a duel between men is, right?" he said as he gave Emilia a condescending look. "You should wait for your turn, it'll come soon, I promise."

"Who said anything about a duel of men?" Ed said. "This is a slaughter, there is nothing worth respecting about you people."

"A slaughter you say, eh? Then, allow me to humor you and your 'slaughter'!" Sarin's eyes flashed as his QI rose to its maximum. An unfathomable feeling took over Ed's group, as it was the first time they felt such an enormous QI. This caused them to react slowly to incoming attacks from Poison sect's members.

"What now? Don't tell me your spirit broke with just that?" Sarin said as he appeared behind as astonished Emilia, who turned around slowly once she heard the voice. Her eyes opened wide, as shock took over her mind. How should I react? How can I avoid him? Should I run away instead of turning around? Am I dead?

Countless questions popped in her mind, but as she was turning her head around, she caught the peaceful face of Ed who was exhaling. A smile crept on her face, and she stopped. Sarin, who didn't care about anything going on, slashed. Blood spurted everywhere, and a pained grunt was heard.

"I thought you said you weren't easy to slash?" Ed said as a new sword appeared on his hand. It was a green katana with black patterns all over its blade. The back of the sword was covered with green scales, making the katana look as sturdy as a dragon. It was only normal, as the sword had been enhanced with the parts of a dragon. A mythical dragon.

Sarin's eyebrows furrowed as he looked at the hand that held his sword. Blood dripping from it, as a slash had hit him. But, he didn't see anything. How could something hit him? Well, it was rather simple actually.

"Sword slashes are nothing but air compressed under high pressure. The stronger the wielder, the stronger the attack. But, even the sword plays a rather important role," ED said as he raised his new mythical sword, Ame-No-Murakumo (v2.0). "And what better sword is there, than a wind sword forged from the scales of a mythical dragon?"

Ed's words didn't manage to reach Sarin's ears. 'How was I hit?' the question plagued his mind and didn't allow for his brain to compute anything else. Little by little, he gathered information regarding Ed. From the rumors surrounding him to the abilities, he displayed in front of him. A certain memory surfaced, and a smile appeared on his face. The wounds on his stomach and hand had already healed, and Emilia was nowhere near him.

"Hahaha, Space magic, isn't it? You pesky space users don't know when to stop…" the smile turned into a frown as he spoke. "But, no need for more playing. You're all going to die anyway, so why not now?"

Ed withdrew Muramasa, the only one of his swords still at Legendary quality. He started to use his Three-Sword Style as he realized he needed to use as many weapons as he could. Emilia held her rapier, which was raring to go at Sarin.

Sarin, whose hands ignited into purple flames, discarded his sword and rushed towards Ed. He slashed at him with his hands, which resembled a tiger's paw, but was blocked by an invisible 'something'. However, Ed slashed all three swords at him, and all of them managed to hit their target. Again, Sarin stood there dumbfounded but didn't dwell on it. 'If something is blocking me, I just need to break it!'

With such a simple thought, Sarin started to claw away at the invisible 'something'. In reality, the wall that stopped Sarin was Ed's Telekinesis threads. He surrounded himself with them, which formed a cocoon harder than any armor. However, even this cocoon couldn't hold on under the assault of Sarin. His purple flames burned through it like paper.

Ed noticed the near limit of his cocoon and chose to retreat, but Sarin was quick to give chase. He dodged continuously but was grazed by one of Sarin's claw-like finger on his right arm.

[You're poisoned, do something about it!]

Ed heard the system and immediately looked at his arm, which started to become discolored already. Without a second thought, he teleported dozens of meters away and squeezed all the muscles of his right arm.

"Not so fast, kid!" Sarin threw tens of purple needles. All of them were poisonous, but Ed didn't pay them any attention. After all, they never got close to him, as they were frozen midair by Emilia.

Meanwhile, Ed had cut his hand with his own katana in order to get rid of the poison. It was the best solution he could think of, as the poison was too strong for one potion to get rid of. Thus, he chose to drink the potion in order to cure the new wound on his right arm.

"I see, so you aren't immune to poison after all," Sarin said as he started to walk towards Ed. "Then, tell me something. What is that creatures, happily eating away my sect's poison as if it was midday snack?" Sarin pointed at Suika, who was still on Asem's shoulder, eating all the poison attacks thrown at the both of them.

"That would be Suika, a Nephilim slime."
