Chapter 221: Broken Wall

A few kilometers separated the royal capital of the Beastmen kingdom and Ellie's army. They hid in a forest, concealing themselves from the prying eyes of the guards. They wanted to strike while the capital was off-guard. Ellie, riding on her horse, looked at her army and started to speak to them.

"It is time for us to take down the Beastmen royal family. They have ruled over this kingdom, bringing down its people's dignity! Their rules exist only for themselves, and not for their people! I have always felt shame to be called a noble of their despicable kingdom, so, today, I ask of you to help me end their tyrannical reign!" Although Ellie delivered a speech, the soldiers didn't shout. They knew not to do such a stupid thing when they were trying to be hiding.

"I know that you are all tired from the journey to this place, but know that it was a necessary step." The soldiers had run all the way to the capital during one night. The only rest time they got was from the moment they arrived, a couple of hours past dawn, until noon.

"I'll take this chance to remind you that we are to fight in a war! This is a real war! In war, there is no such a thing as completely decimating your enemy! In war, both sides kill, and both sides are killed! Let me take this chance to remind you, that winning the Bloody war doesn't guarantee anything. So, entering the war with the mindset of winning from the start is foolish!!" The words of Ellie penetrated deep within the hearts of her soldiers. They hung their heads, reflecting upon their naïve ideas. They were indeed underestimating war.

"But, know that our target right now is the king and only the king. Once the king falls, the war is won. That is my target, and I plan to achieve it before nightfall. So, in order to live, make sure you give it your all!" Ellie turned around to face the capital, with its domineering walls. "My soldiers. MAKE SURE TO SURVIVE!" Ellie, with her shout, started the rush towards the capital of the Beastmen.

As one would expect, her army quickly caught the attention of the guards. A bell started to ring, with its special tone; it managed to notify the soldiers of an attack. In the few minutes it took Ellie's army to reach the walls, an equally impressive army stood in their way.

"Everyone, disperse and surround the capital!" Ellie gave her order and her army complied. The 40.000 soldiers split into four equal parts, each choosing one wall to attack. In an instant, the leaders of each small army started engaging the enemy. Ellie knew from the last war that she wasn't good at fighting while mounting a horse. Thus, she chose to wield a spear.

Her way of handling the spear was rather clumsy, as she was only taught the basics by Edmund. Still, she was overwhelming with her martial prowess. Many enemies targeted her horse in order to dismount but failed. She managed to react to everyone within time and stopped the attack in their tracks.

Her target was not to kill the enemies but to reach the wall. They needed to get the gates open from the inside, or they couldn't enter the city. But, scaling the walls was much harder to do. The archers positioned themselves and rained arrows upon them. But, they had to be careful not to injure their own comrades, so their pressure was little.

On the southern wall, Becky was having a hard time. Not against an opponent, but in following the battlefield. She often found herself lost in the midst of the enemies, with none of her allies near her. This caused her to engage, and disengage many times consecutively. But, her learning ability was nothing to scoff at. She was learning as she was fighting. And, from her learning, she managed to get stronger.

Audun and Eric weren't having a hard time. Instead, they were focusing entirely on getting to the walls. Their soldiers were also fully committed to following their orders. The slaves, which everyone was wary of, gave it their all as well. They believed that they would gain their freedom if they were to fight for five years. They also didn't want to lose their lives for no reason.

An hour had passed, with no way for the soldiers to reach the walls. Ellie changed the fighting soldiers with the ones at the back in order to get them to rest. But, she couldn't hide her displeasure. They were losing time, and she didn't like it.

"Enough, I'm taking things into my own hands…" She muttered to herself as she turned around to look at her soldiers. It was extremely dangerous to do such a thing in the middle of the battlefield, yet she did it anyway.

"Men, I'll leave this spot to you. Make sure not to let the soldiers follow after me! And you can ask for help from the other three armies!" after saying so, Ellie flew into the sky. Some Heavenly Establishment cultivators tried to stop her, but they were no match.

As she closed in on the walls, a hail of arrows targeted her. But, they couldn't hurt her even though they managed to make contact with her body. She was coating her entire body with a dense layer of QI, making her immune to such feeble attacks. She descended near the wall and stored her spear. Out of her spatial ring, her personal gauntlets popped out. As she equipped them, she noticed some soldiers coming after her from behind, while archers targeted her from the back.

"Haaaah!" She screamed as she released a massive wave of QI in all directions. The soldiers behind her were blown away, with no way of recovering. Then, her QI started going into one of her fists.

*BOOM*

With only one attack, Ellie opened up a hole in the wall of the capital. She went through it, finally entering the city of her enemy.

Chapter 222: Royal Guards

As the citizens looked in horror at the scene, the soldiers inside the city went into a panic. The capital was invaded. They ended up reacting a bit too late, as Ellie had already made her way deep into the city.

"DO NOT LET HER GET AWAY!" one of the army leaders, stationed inside the city, shouted as he realized the peril they were in. But, it was too late. One thing that the Beastmen army had done badly, was to leave the strong ones out of the loop. Only low ranking cultivators headed to intercept Ellie's army, while the strong ones were stationed elsewhere.

"As if you can catch up!" Ellie turned around and made a funny face towards the soldier, as he pulled on her lower eyelid and stuck her tongue out. She flew a bit higher and increased her flight speed, leaving a sonic boom after her. Her target was the castle build on a high ground in the middle of the capital. Ellie failed to notice the group of eyes locked on her. They weren't enemies but simply a gallery of people gazing at her familiar figure. Some of them had tears in their eyes. They were the citizens of the capital. And they all recognized the boisterous problem child, Ellie.

"Wait for me, Gazef!" Ellie mumbled to herself as she let a trail of QI behind her.

The soldiers outside of the city didn't know what to do. They were able to hold on for so long, only because the enemies couldn't reach the wall. But now, Ellie passed all of them, and they couldn't do anything. Also, because of Becky's unprecedented growth during the war, she started to pressure them even more. None of the Beastmen soldiers were able to pressure their enemy. The difference in morale and goals was far greater than they could handle.

"Elder Audun, I will follow after Ellie now. I'm certain that other enemies are inside, so she'll need all the help she can get." Eric joined up with Audun's army and told him his plan.

"I understand. I'll take care of both armies and take down the soldiers here. I'll join you if I can later, so just focus on your goal for now." Just as Audun finished speaking, Eric left his horse to one of the soldiers as he flew up in the sky.

"Shoot him! Don't let anyone else get inside the walls!" Seeing Eric's movements, many soldiers and archers switched their focus to him.

"Are you sure you can spare me your attention? I'm quite strong you know? You will need a whole army to stop me from entering!" The soldiers shrunk back as they heard Eric's confident claim. In fact, they had seen him smash and slash through their allies since the war began.

Some Beastmen that could fly hurried up and tried to block Eric's way. However, a single swing of his sword was enough to put them to rest. Eric flew over the walls, sending those that saw his act into panic once again. The citizens this time weren't as calm, as the person that invaded them this time was not familiar. However, they were astonished as Eric ignored them, and didn't even try to kill anyone of them.

He spotted Ellie's figure, currently engaged in combat with five figures.

'I knew it…' Eric thought to himself as he flew at maximum speed. The soldiers following after him were blown away by the force generated by his accelerations. He closed in on Ellie's position and the ones fighting her noticed him and backed away.

"Are you okay?" Eric asked Ellie as he studied her state. He couldn't see any wounds on her body, but it was better to ask.

"Yeah, I barely started to fight them after all."

"Who are they?" Eric asked as he checked his opponents. The five of them seemed to be on the older side, and they all carried themselves with dignity. On top of that, their cultivation ranged from Heavenly Establishment level 10 to Immortal level 4.

Starting from the left, Eric could see a beastman whose features looked similar to a mole. His long nails and pointy nose seemed especially like one. The one next to him had wolf ears and a bushy grey tail. His canines were grinding against each other as he looked at Ellie and Eric. The central one was the strongest out of them, and he looked like a bulky leopard, with a spotted skin and a thin long tail. He had a calm look in his face as if he was undisturbed by the things happening near the capital.

The next person was a lady with eagle wings and bright yellow eyes. She seemed to follow every movement happening in her surroundings, going as far as reading the lips of Ellie and Eric. The last one was a gorilla beastman. He looked no different from a regular gorilla, except the fact that his face resembled humans.

"They are the five royal guards. I was wondering where they were, but it turns out that they never left the castle. I guess the king didn't allow them to leave his side, as he was afraid of us." Ellie explained.

"I guess it's their existence that convinced Blood sect to ally with them," Eric mumbled as he looked at the five of them. "Anyway, no need to waste time. You go ahead and I'll handle them. Don't be annoying and say that you will stay here to fight them, go and kill that king." Eric told Ellie as he brandished his sword.

"I'll leave it to you then." Ellie rushed away in a hurry towards the castle under them. The eagle lady flapped her wings, and in an instant, she was next to Ellie. Yet, Ellie didn't even look at her.

"You're too arrogant, little girl!" She said as she slashed with her razor-sharp wings.

.

"Weren't you reading out lips? Didn't you see me say that I will handle all of you? Isn't that reason enough for her not to pay you any heed?" Eric dropped three consecutive questions as he threw the eagle lady away after clashing with her. The eagle lady was quite fast, and yet Eric was able to catch up to her. This alone caused the five guardians to put their guard up.

"Five opponents…Same as Ed last time. Let me show you the tradition of the Avalon princes!" Eric said as his QI blew out of his body.
