Ed took the initiative and rushed at Emilia and Ellie. His step-in was very fast, making them almost unable to react. He punched at Ellie, causing her to guard with both of her hands. Even then, she was forced a few steps to the back. Before Emilia could attack him, Ed already kicked at her. She was able to barely dodge, but Ed used Wind magic on her. It was a simple Wind ball rotating very fast in his hands. He didn't directly hit, but simply detonated it when his hand was close to her body.
This caused Emilia to be thrown away. Ellie saw this and jumped up trying to attack Ed. She used almost the same punch as before, the only difference being that she was in a Ten like state, making her defenses a bit better.
"If you can use QI to make punches stronger, then obviously you can make them defend better." Ed used KO on his hand. What followed was a repeat of what happened in their last spar. Ed stopped Ellie in her tracks, however this time; she followed with a kick to the stomach. The kick also had some QI in it thanks to her state of constantly being surrounded by QI; however, it wasn't even close to her punch. "You can also use QI on other body parts, not only hands and legs." Ed was teaching them as they were fighting. He focused his aura on his stomach making him stop it easily.
Emilia finally got back up and joined Ellie to back her up. Both of them had quite the reliable teamwork. Soon enough, they were putting pressure on Ed, even punching him in the face. But, Ellie couldn't keep it up for too long. She wasn't used to using her QI in such a way, so it quickly caught up to her. Ed noticed this and was planning to finish the match, however, Emilia turned aggressive.
Emilia's QI kept rising, it was now at the same level as a King Establishment level 4. 'It seems like I'm not the only one who's hiding their power.' It seemed like Ed's training awakened something in Emilia, making her turn serious. She approached Ellie and injected her with some QI, helping her last longer. Both Emilia and Ellie seemed to possess an incredible amount of QI. Their teamwork was putting even more pressure on Ed.
On Suika's side, she was doing very well. Suika was using Ken, maintaining a dense aura around her for defense, while she fought off Hayato and Stephanie. However, the latter two were faring much better than Emilie and Ellie. Mainly, thanks to Hayato. His use of magic was excellent, putting enough pressure of Suika from a distance, while Stephanie was trying to trap her with Earth magic. This is what caused Suika to use Ken, and simply, bulldoze her way through the barrage of magic. Suika was smart, so she targeted Stephanie, the weak link, first. She was able to knock her away with a simple punch and turned her attention towards Hayato. The two entered in a battle of hit and run, seemingly in a stalemate.
Suika was able to heal any injuries immediately with her Healing magic. Most of them were simple injuries. However, this along with Nen was eating at her energy very quickly. Hayato showed no signs of slowing down; even he had quite the amount of QI. Stephanie quickly tried to regain her composure from the punch and supported Hayato. Their teamwork irritated her, causing her to snap on them. She focused her entire aura in her hand with KO and punched the ground. She couldn't usually cause much damage even with KO, but with Stephanie constantly trying to trap her using Earth magic, the ground easily crumbled. All of them fell inside the hole.
Ed was startled by the appearance of a hole in the ground but still chose to continue his spar with Emilia and Ellie. He knew the three of them wouldn't get hurt by falling in such a hole.
Ed was under quite the assault from the two in front of him. Emilia used Fire magic and made four swords that constantly slashed at Ed, while she and Ellie physically attacked him. 'She can control the swords while fighting.' Ed was very impressed with Emilia. He also knew that if they continued this way, he might be getting the short end of the stick.
"Let's get a little more serious!" Ed shocked the two of them. They had been doing their best, and yet Ed was not even serious. Ed activated his Seikūken and started using magic more seriously. 'The Sharingan would be too much for them.' Ed decided not to go too far. He used Wind magic to blow away the swords constantly slashing at him while dodging the two. Dodging was not extremely easy.
Ed punched Emilia again, but she blocked with both of her hands in front of her face. As she was putting them back down, she lost sight of Ed. "Behind you!" Ellie also lost Ed but found him quickly. Ed used Shunpo to perform this quick movement. Before Emilia could react, Ed slapped his hands together as if clapping. He used KO on his hands, making the sound extremely loud. Even the ones who were simply watching the fight had to cover their ears. Ellie was now dazed, and Emilie who was the closest fell to her knees.
"Let's stop here for today." Ed decided not to continue anymore. There was no point in injuring the two of them in a simple spar. Ed was about to head out and check Suika and the others, but found that they were out of the hole, watching them fight. 'When did they get out…'
"Your powers are frightening Ed. Next time I'd like to fight you." Hayato's fighting spirit seemed to be burning after his fight with Suika and watching Ed's performance. Ed asked Suika to use her Healing magic on Ellie and Emilia to help them recover.
"Next time I won't lose!" Surprisingly, it wasn't Ellie who spoke. Emilia seemed as if she wanted to beat Ed more than anything. 'I'm somehow making them all want to fight me…' Ed was feeling lonely now, almost all of his friends wanted to get a piece of him.
"Try to train your QI control today, and maintain a QI infused form for as long as possible. Also, remember not to go overboard. We'll continue tomorrow." All of them left together, leaving the students who were watching them stunned. 'How can we compete with that?!' All of them were thinking the same thing.
Hello everyone! A battle only chapter since a while! Hope you enjoy!
Ed spent the rest of the time before the tournament training. During the day he would train along with his classmates and in the night with his monsters.
During the second day, Ed fought with Hayato and Emilia. The two of them gave Ed a lot of trouble, so much that he had to activate many of his skills to be able to win. All of them seemed to improve a lot faster in battle, rather than with cultivation.
As for Ed and his companions, they could now use Ken with ease. Their Ren training paid off. Ed and Raikou could hold En for about 10 minutes before feeling tired. Raikou and Ed had the greatest reserves of energy out of them, so it was only obvious. Suika and the others could use most of the advanced techniques, but still not at the level of Ed.
Ed also made weapons for Gobuta and the others. He made some prototypes with iron only to help them choose which weapon suited them the best. In the end, Gobuta chose a great sword, Goburou a rapier and Garu chose to use two double-edged swords.
After they chose the weapons, Ed spent about six hours every day on each one of the weapons. He made the weapons with conductivity in mind. They would be using Shu to coat the weapons, as well as magic, so the weapons had to be able to withstand the energy that would be flowing. Thankfully, the metals that Ed bought were perfect for the job.
The Great-Sword for Gobuta was a huge double-handed sword. It has a classical silver blade and a thin hilt. Ed used it to make sure it was not faulty and was impressed. The sword was made from Mythril, so it would get lighter the more energy was put into it. This allowed the user to forget about the weight of the sword when fighting, making it less of a burden. The hilt was golden in color, with the bottom of it looking like an eagle's claw.
Goburou's rapier was thinner than usual rapier, but it was much sturdier. It was made with speed in mind, but Ed didn't forget about durability. The blade was red with a black hilt that had a couple of ornamental rings that protected the hand of the user and served to store energy.
Garu now had two swords. Both swords were different in color, with one being red and the other blue. They also focused on damage and speed. The blue sword had a red hilt, while the red sword had a blue one. Gary had shown compatibility with Fire and Ice magic. He was the only one of the three who could use magic, so Ed decided to make him swords that enhanced these elements.
All the swords that Ed made have Epic quality. The reason being, he didn't want them to rely on the weapons too much. Ed would re-forge their weapons as soon as they become capable enough.
Raikou and Suika didn't need weapons so Ed didn't make anything for them. All of them now had a higher battle power compared to before.
The days went by and it was time for the tournament. Ed finally used his leather set after a long time. He had hunted for only two days, at most, during his time in the academy, so he didn't bother with protection much. Raikou decided to join him today, so he entered his shadow. Suika also sat on his shoulder while he was making his way to the class.
Ed met up with Emilia, Ellie, and Hayato first, and then Stephanie when they reached the classroom. Harry was also there and started speaking as soon as everyone was present.
"The king will be telling all the details of the tournament, so let's go and meet him. By the way, I put a bet on you guys winning to show my support, so make me proud!" It was the first time Harry had shown an emotion other than annoyance. 'Is it the money, or does he really believe in us' Ed couldn't help but think this way, but shrugged this thought off and moved on.
"I wonder how this tournament will be." Stephanie who seemed a bit nervous asked her friends.
"Well since our teacher said he bet on us, I'm guessing we won't be fighting each other." Ed deducted this from how Harry had spoken. He was also a bit relieved since he didn't want to fight his friends.
Soon enough, they reached the great hall of the academy. The king and the general from the tests were present. The king's daughter wasn't with him this time; instead, she was standing with her classmates. All classes grouped up in a square with their teacher in front of them. When everyone was present, the king started speaking.
"We meet again! Let's quickly get to the point; I want to get back to sleep- to do my job!" The king never failed to amuse the people present. It showed that he was a nice person, easy to get along with. "The tournament will be a little different. Each class will send in 5 people at the beginning, after every five minutes, five more people will go inside. This will go on until all twenty people have entered the ring. To win, you need to eliminate all other classes or have the most students when the time limit of 30 minutes is up. The time starts when the first batch of students enters." The king finished explaining.
Ed could see that all classes, except class A, had a disadvantage. Class B to E had mock-battles, but A didn't. This meant that their abilities were unknown. 'Guess this is the advantage of being in class A' Ed wasn't nervous. He was simply thinking if his team should be first or last to enter the battle.
The group of students and teachers moved ahead to the ring. When they got there, everyone was surprised. The ring was enormous. It was about as big as a football field. It was made with the idea of having a group battle.
"Why don't you let all your students enter, Harry? I'm sure all twenty of them need to be present to at least survive!" The person who approached Harry was A class' teacher. He seemed like a smug man who was in his late twenties. He reeked of arrogance.
"We already have a bet. Just make sure to pay up when we win."
Hello everyone! The tournament is about to begin. Enjoy.
