Chapter 12: The talk and The practice
Ed got back to the castle. He wasn't in the mood to play so after taking a bath with his companions he asked Becky to get them some food and not let anyone enter.
After eating Ed slept. He later found out that his sister was very upset with him since she wanted to play with Raikou.
In morning Ed woke up by Becky's knocking. She informed him that his father wanted to have a talk with him. Ed guessed it was because of the matter with Eric.
While he was heading for his father's office, Ed noticed Bella hiding behind corners and looking at him with upset eyes. He tried to talk to her but she hid immediately.
'How cute' Ed thought that his angry sister was very cute.
"So you don't want to talk to me, Bella? So that means you don't want to play with my new companion Suika?" As soon as Bella heard him say new companion, she stretched out her head looking at him with anticipation rather than anger this time.
"Aaah too bad then, I'm gonna have to play with it alone..." Ed then summoned Suika and got her to come out.
"I wanna play! I wanna play!" When Bella saw Suika, she forgot about her grudge and turned sweet again. Ed got Suika to play with Bella, both of them were happy with the arrangements.
"Let's go play!" "Suu~~!" They wandered off jumping around.
Ed got to his father's office and knocked. "Enter" He heard his father's command and entered the room.
"I heard you got into a fight with your brother"
"Yes I did" Ed had nothing to hide as he wasn't ashamed of what he had done.
"I heard the story from Becky and Griffin. I just wanted to tell you that you weren't wrong. It seems some bad company found their way into your brother's mind" His voice had a hint of worry in it.
"You won't be punished, however, I'll warn you, fights between family members are prohibited. Understand?" "Yes father"
"Good. Moving on, the reason for your brother's actions is a couple of disciples of the sect. They will be punished along with Eric." Ed couldn't say anything as he knew his father made up his mind. He also thought that such behavior couldn't be tolerated.
Ed, after all, was thought that all lives are equal. He believed no one should be mistreated just because of his social position.
"You may leave now" Arthur spoke and got back to his work which seemed to always be increasing.
"Understood father" Ed likewise spoke and left the room. He called Raikou and searched together for his sister. It was time to fulfill his promise and teach her some sword techniques.
Luckily they found her playing with Suika in the training hall so that saved them some time.
"Brother you're not here to take Suika back right?" Bella got in front of Suika and looked like she wanted to protest in case her bother wanted to take her away.
"No no, I'm here to teach the sword techniques you liked," Ed told her what he was here for.
"Really brother you mean it?!!" Bella was sparkling.
"Let us start!" Ed got a wooden sword for both of them.
Ed then performed some sword techniques with only one sword. Bella mimicked them while Ed kept correcting her moves.
About an hour passed and Bella was already tired, Ed then got Becky to take her away to his mother's place and he started sparring with Raikou.
Raikou was now stronger than Ed. This only served to motivate Ed to spar with him; he knew his opponents wouldn't always be weaker than him.
Ed activated his Sharingan and went full power from the start. He was using two wooden swords instead of Murasame and Murata-tou.
Raikou's increased speed proved more troublesome than Ed thought. He could only see a blur when Raikou moved at full speed even with his Sharingan. However, after being in so many battles, Ed's instincts started blossoming and his body could react a bit faster.
About 2 hours passed as they were sparring. Ed could now use Sharingan for an hour before his eyes start to hurt him. After the 1st hour passed his performance dropped and he barely held on in the 2nd hour.
As Ed was heading back to his room he saw his mother coming towards him.
"Ed! Who told you to teach your sister sword techniques? What if she got hurt? What if she becomes a sword maniac? Who would want to marry her?!" It was his mother's signature machine-gun questions.
Ed saw Becky behind his mother and asked her what was wrong with his eyes.
"Young mistress got fatigued from the training, so she fell in a deep asleep" The answer was short and simple. 'As you would expect from Becky' Ed was thankful for Becky's character at this moment.
"Mother you don't have to worry, Bella is just tired she will be fine. Besides I only taught her some techniques, I didn't spar with her and I didn't teach her how to fight either" Ed was trying to explain himself to his mother. "You know I would never do anything to hurt my little sister."
As soon as his mother heard his last sentence she calmed down and knew he was right.
"Just let me know if you want to do something like this again" His mother left after telling him that.
"Becky I'm planning to leave to hunt, but I want to leave alone" Ed wanted to try and have more liberty when hunting.
"I'll inform his majesty and we'll see" Becky didn't seem like she would back down so he couldn't do anything.
After Becky spoke with Arthur, she came back and told Ed "His Highness agreed but he told you to be responsible and not bite more than you can chew". Ed could hear a bit of disappointment in Becky's voice but dismissed it because it seemed ridiculous.
Ed knew this was how his father told him to be careful. He then wore his usual outfit and got on a carriage, this time Becky only drove him there and went back after she told him to be back here by sunset for getting back.
Ed nodded and made his way inside the familiar forest.
