I was in the desert from a long time ago, walking around and observing the land. Although this was an aerial view of things, so it was drastically different. I noticed more of the larger creatures in the desert, had I not followed those knowledgeable merchants my life would have been in peril back then.
Each step I ascended higher and higher, I couldn't handle the pressure to high so I stayed to a certain height. This was part of my new training routine, lower air and more pressure from the weather phenomenon. That combined with tearing and repairing my inner physique was boosting my physical prowess.
When I felt tired I would just get down from the skies and lightly walk enjoying old memories. Maybe I was just crazy but I found some memories of the desert sentimental. I had a few ideas, I wanted to try out soon; so the moment I was tired of doing too much. I would make a quiet place and run my experiments. I first worked on rearing starbugs, I got the materials from the school before I left.
As well as around 200 captured ladybugs on my way here. The goal method to make starbug was too supply them with immense vitality. Then reroute that energy to its sensory part of the brain, overload it and then it loses its eyes. Then to make it devour magic power and starlight using a certain method only beasts knew, the technique lets the bugs see in a far more interesting way since the eyes it lost.
It can examine moods based on chemicals it smells, it can even go as far as predicting your thoughts. But raising them taking a huge amount of energy and time. Most don't even survive as they are cannibalized in a crazy stupor of emotions from the vitality.
I had already sealed them and fed them massive vitality from the winged serpent blood. I also added a bit of the distilled essence of the sun saffron and watched them bite at each other.
There were about 100 ladybugs left, reproduction has allowed the number to stay fairly stable. I am waiting for the time that they are reduced to about 20 then I'll separate them and start their training. Which by my estimates should be fairly soon, maybe even before I reach Dread Empire or a little after.
I went back to the bazaar for a while back, I didn't see the fat merchant from before. The only thing left of his shack was a small stack of wood on top of some miscellaneous items. I didn't care too much though, I just wanted to thank him for the help last time. Even though he was paid, he gave some very helpful information when I desperately needed it.
I went back to my journey occasionally training and experimenting until I reached the gray area between Vermillion Country and Dread Empire. I found the Dread border town, and instead of bothering to enter the embassy and get approval. I walked the air and passed the town, with my abilities they wouldn't even bother me.
Their job is to manage the mortals, not the true experts they have a branch dedicated to that. It had taken a week to reach Dread, but my speed was rather slow since I did other things. But for now, I decided to accelerate my speed moving at full Mach 1 in the air. I was a flying bullet with no limits, and it required only 2 magic power.
With my stats boosting so fast, it took less and less to be extremely capable. I flew for 2 hours before stopping as I approached the Dread Empire. I descended a few miles out and meditated on the ground for a moment.
"Illusory Body," I muttered as my black and blonde hair metamorphosed all of a sudden becoming an old graying color. My body grew taller and bulkier, my facial features becoming mature and different.
I looked completely different from my previous self. Between the gray hair, and the sword on my Glabella. I seemed like an undying Daoist monster. my magic power significantly dropped becoming just 8 points.
"Illusory is useful, just very taxing," I remarked almost laughing at how great this ability was. I altered my fundamental body structure using my magic and vitality. The gravity of such an accomplishment would leave even the most respected Legendary knights utterly dumbfounded.
For me that meant, I was unable to be discerned from my previous self. Even with a prying and capable eye, it would be fairly tough to notice my special state.
I laughed a little and burst into high speeds. Reaching the city in moments, and slowing down just before the entrance. The guards seeing my great speed, and transcendent demeanor they quickly got out of the way.
At my side was no longer my void sword, instead, I had 2 of the sabers I bought from the school. I walked around the debauch crime-ridden city, reminded of my home and I passed by an orphanage.
I sat near a tree and watched the children play. I saw a large older woman chase the kids around yelling for them to go back. I looked at her in a cold and indifferent light. She had previously kicked me out, for stealing due to the pressure of the vendors that I stole from.
I felt a little dissonance from my darker emotions at that moment. In the grand scheme of things what she does is just insignificant. I stood up and quietly left walking in the city, blending in with the crowd ignorant of the rampant crime. I could see children stealing, and their mother's being beaten in retaliation.
The world only got darker as I went deeper into the city, people were being extorted and raped. Even murdered in some cases, but I never raised my hand. Because it was pointless to do so, their lives were meant to end. As one's altitude increased they came to see that all things in the grand scheme of things were inherently meaningless.
I got close to the sewers and walked into it slowly. Following the old pathway, I took years ago, reminiscing as I destroyed the traps. Nothing could harm me, so I went down and I was finally at the Guild. I took a deep breath of the rancid sewer air and started to chuckle. It became laughter, and then I became a little maniacal.
"I'm Home," I said as I deeply exhaled
I opened the door, the guild members were half asleep it was night time now. But seeing me they all woke up abruptly and looked at me in confusion. I looked over and saw the dark colored man that knocked me out. Although he didn't recognize me, he was still on edge when he saw me.
"How can we help you?" The dark skinned man said nervously
"Don't worry that part will be easy," I said as my palm went flying through space and gripped his skull. I released my bedevilment power from Providence into his brain, and cut apart his consciousness. The lotus seed quickly absorbed the fragments and grew into a sprout.
"I understand." The dark skinned man said in an affectionate tone, his eyes turned black and he jumped at another guild member.
He started to claw off the guild member's face and bit at his body making him battered. I sent more seeds to the guild members, making them crazy as they killed each other in gruesome ways. I looked on in calm and cold rationalism, as I observed the effects of bedevilment on the mind.
After all, this kind of mind breaking would ruin my targets, but I couldn't ever do this to anyone at the academy. As they went crazy and killed each other, they started to break the tables and walls to the sewers.
Lewis came down confused and looked around as he saw them go crazy. Then he looked at me, and he saw the look of schadenfreude in my eyes and his face went pale. He moved back quickly hoping to escape quickly, but I didn't give him the chance.
I followed him at high speeds and he started to move fast. I realized Lewis' had been hiding his strength, after all, to be related to demons. He must have a higher level of strength than I had expected.
But I had almost nothing to fear of even real knights, then what of Lewis who I estimated to be at most peak level 19. I unsheathed my two sabers and sent my malevolent sword intent into them. The shined in a dark light, my hate and anger repressed contained in them. I swung my sword at an absolute speed, he was just a little bit ahead of me.
"Spatial Slice!" My sword was burned with the power of the void and flew into his arms cutting his nerves and meridians. I burst in front of him and sheathed my 2 sabers as he fell down unable to move.
"Why?" Lewis uttered as he drooled on the ground.
