Chapter 29: Accepting Disciples
Tian Long's words silenced the crowd as they all held their breath, awaiting the following words.
The families of the 10 participants couldn't help but be filled with both excitement and anticipation, wishing that their respective representatives would be picked and become an official disciple of the Eternal Glory Sect.
Tian Long smiled and continued. "The following 4 disciples that will be accepted are the following: Long Wang, Long Xue, Chu Feng, and Zhuang Yan."
Silence...
The spectators were shocked, the supreme families were stunned, the powerful sects were flabbergasted.
The Lin Family members were shocked as well. Jian Chen and Lin Hui Yin were shocked as well but they recovered pretty soon since they know that their sect master had a different way of thinking.
After a while, a clamor started until it spread everywhere.
"No members from the supreme families were picked? Not even those from the prominent sects?" said someone within the crowd scornfully.
"Is the sect master of Eternal Glory playing with us? I agree that those four might be the apex of the younger generation in the Endless Forces but they have no credible background!" yelled an elder of a supreme family.
"I agree to that! The four of them might be incredibly rare geniuses but their backgrounds are totally ordinary! Why not pick someone like Shi Hong from the Supreme Shi Family? Or Su Xinyue from the Verdant Wood Sect?" shouted an unsatisfied young man.
"Now now, I'm sure that sect master Tian has his own reasons for doing so. We cannot fathom the mind of a monstrous apex genius like him." said a young maiden shyly.
"Indeed, I'm sure that young noble Tian has a good reason for picking the four of them." said a beautiful noble lady passionately.
"Cheh! Good reason? There better be one."

While the audiences were in an uproar, the 10 participants remained silent when they heard Tian Long's words.
Even though the ones that weren't picked were a bit indignant about the decision, they didn't dare show any unsatisfaction and disrespect in front of Tian Long.
Meanwhile, The Long twins and Zhuang Yan were surprised and elated that they were picked by Tian Long even though they didn't originate from a great background or influence. They knew that entering the Eternal Glory Sect would change their lives forever, of course, in a great way.
(Note: Long twins = Long Wang and Long Xue.)
Chu Feng was only a little bit surprised that he was picked despite his lowly background even if he had confidence in himself. He knew within his heart that this sect master of Eternal Glory Sect is definitely a transcendent person.

As the commotion within the crown started getting out of hand, the same clear and calm voice resounded everywhere.
"Enough!"
Everything suddenly went silent as nobody dared to speak any further. They respected and feared this mysterious and powerful sect master of the Eternal Glory Sect.
Tian Long then looked towards the other 6 participants and smiled.
(Note: Remember their names: Shi Hong, Li Kang, Han Gang, Su Xinyue, Yao Ya and Xiao Ning.)
"Are you all unsatisfied with the decision?" he asked.
Shi Hong, Li Kang, and the others looked at each other for a bit before replying in unison.
"No, we are not!"
Shi Hong then continued. "Simply the experience that we got from climbing the Celestial Stairway was already enough and the increase in our cultivation by a whole realm could be said to be an impossibly wondrous gift already."
The others nodded their heads to express their affirmation.
The increase in their cultivation by a whole realm was already an awe-inspiring gift that they couldn't really ask more.
Tian Long laughed and nodded his head. "Good, this answer doesn't disappoint me."
The other party all sighed in relief when they heard his words.
He continued. "However, your achievements definitely gave me a good surprise. You all didn't give up and continued climbing despite your low cultivation levels which could be said to be unbelievably hard. This is also why I will give you six a gift, which is a chance, a chance to enter and become official disciples of the Eternal Glory Sect.
As Shi Hong and the others heard Tian Long's words, they couldn't help but be proud of their achievements which were indeed incredible.
However, what truly shocked them was that they would also have a chance to enter the sect. This could be considered to be the greatest gift that they could receive since they knew that their future would simply be limitless once they enter the Eternal Glory Sect.
Their faces reddened as they held their breath, waiting for Tian Long's following words.
Tian Long smiled at their reaction and continued. "You could consider this chance as a challenge and another trial. To get the chance to enter the Eternal Glory Sect you all must complete the two following conditions. Firstly, you must enter the peak of Energy Refining Realm and second you must personally defeat 5,000 cultivators at the peak of Energy Refining Realm, try not to kill them if possible. You six will have a total of 3 years time to finish these two tasks."
Shi Hong, Su Xinyue and the others were shocked speechless when they heard the heaven-defying tasks that Tian Long proposed to them.
Achieve the cultivation of the peak of Energy Refining Realm within 3 years?! Hard, simply heaven-defyingly hard. And we even have to defeat 5,000 peak Energy Refining cultivators?! All in 3 years time?!
Before they could even voice their complaints, Tian Long cut them off.

The 6 geniuses were stunned as their hearts were stirred and their blood left boiling with heroism as they continued listening.
They could feel Tian Long's indomitable and fearless heart as he spoke his words that were as if he was challenging not just the entire world but even the heavens itself.
He continued with a calm yet valiant, and fearless voice. "And with your talent and increased cultivation level, finishing this trial is definitely doable. It all just leads to one simple question. Do you have the will and heart to complete this challenge? Can you do the impossible and prove to the entire world that you all can be hailed as one of the peaks and apex geniuses of this generation, not just of the Endless Forces Continent, but instead, of the entire Boundless Heaven World."

Chapter 30: Trial of the Apex
"Can you do the impossible and prove to the entire world that all of you can be hailed as peak, apex geniuses of this generation, not just of the Endless Forces Continent, but the entire Boundless Heaven World."

Shi Hong and the others were speechless as Tian Long's words reverberated within their mind and heart.
Being hailed as peak geniuses of the entire Boundless Heaven World could be said to be simply an everlasting glory! And the Eternal Glory Sect could help them achieve this dream that they had never dared to dream before.
They didn't doubt his words since they have seen Tian Long's actions which could be deemed to be an impossible feat in the whole wide world.
Fiery-like fighting spirit burned within their eyes and their blood boiled with excitement that they had never experienced before.
Shi Hong, Su Xinyue, Li Kang and the others looked at and nodded their heads at each other.
They then all replied in unison. "We wish to accept these tasks, master Tian."
Tian Long let out a carefree smile and nodded his head. "Good answer. I applaud you all for fighting for this chance which simply seems impossible to complete."
He continued. "Anyway, you all are probably a bit confused on how the tasks will be overseen, how I'll find out the progress, whether you guys have completed the tasks or not."

Tian Long asked the system. "So the Apex System is capable of doing thing this as well?"
[ Ding! Correct, the system shall brand the targets with the Trial of the Apex mark. The host is then able to give them the "quest" that they must complete and the host will also be able to monitor their progress whenever you want. ]
Tian Long praised. "What a mystical function! It's just a bit similar to how an NPC would give a quest to a player if this was an MMORPG."
(Note: Pretty sure I don't need to explain what an NPC and MMORPG is right?)
"System, I need six Trial of the Apex marks." he continued.
[ Ding! Activating the Trial of the Apex function...20%...70%...100%! ]
Suddenly an incredibly pure wave of heavenly energy started gathering towards Tian Long very quietly.
[ Ding! Condensing six marks of the Trial of the Apex...10%...40%...90%...100%! Complete! ]
Within a blink of an eye, Tian Long saw a magical scene took place in front of his eyes.
All of those waves of pure heavenly energy started gathering in one place and began condensing into a shape.
"How mystical..." murmured Tian Long as he stared at the scene in front of him.
[ Ding! The host must pick a shape of the mark to continue condensing and to finally be created. ]
When Tian Long heard the system's words, he started thinking of the shape that he would like for the Trial of the Apex mark to be.
"Hmm..." Tian Long took a few minutes to think before finally deciding on what the mark would look like.
[ Ding! Completing the Trial of the Apex mark now...80%...90%...100%! ]
Tian Long then saw the gathered and condensed pure heavenly energy started to separate into 6 marks and transform into six golden hexagrams.
(Note: Just look up hexagrams if you don't know what it is...)
He walked up to the hexagrams and reached his hand towards it.
As if answering his calls, the six golden hexagrams softly flew to his hand and landed on it.
Tian Long smiled. "Ok, now things would be easier."

The 6 participants all nodded their heads in affirmation.
Tian Long lifted his hand and six small golden hexagrams began floating above his palm. He then said. "These are the marks for the Trial of the Apex. These marks will be the one that will record your current progress in the task."
Shi Hong stepped forward and asked. "Master Tian, how exactly will those marks work?"
The others also looked at Tian Long since they also wanted to know.
"Your hands will be branded by the mark of the Trial of the Apex and it shall record your cultivation level and the number of peak Energy Refining Realm cultivators you have defeated. With the mark, I'll be able to monitor your progress whenever and wherever I am. Of course, you all would also be able to view your progress with it." Tian Long smiled.
"You all will understand once you have the mark."

The 6 gasped and exclaimed in unison.
Such a mysterious and useful technique was probably impossible in this world. Either that or only those at the peak of Boundless Heaven World would know of such a convenient method to track one's progress if they're in a task or a mission.
"All six of you, lift your hand and the marks shall be branded on it." he ordered.
Shi Hong and the others looked at each other and raised their hands towards Tian Long.
Then, the six golden hexagrams became smaller and flew towards them.
Within a second, the marks of the Trial of the Apex were branded on their hands as they looked at it in wonder.
"You all are able to advance in cultivation however possible but at every level, your foundations must be strong and steady. Through the mark of the Trial of the Apex, I'll be able to check your foundations and judge for myself if it's good enough, therefore, if you have a weak and shaky foundation then I'll find out and you will fail." said Tian Long seriously.
He then continued. "Also, the required peak Energy Refining Realm cultivators must be defeated by you personally! With the mark, I'll also be able to find out whether you defeated them by yourselves or with the help of your families, friends, etc. The ones you defeated with their help will not be counted so forget about asking for other's help!"
"You are only able to use treasures and weapons that are below King Grade. The rest of the rules, you'll find out in the mark of the Trial of the Apex. I give you all the best of luck and you guys can start whenever you want, of course, the earlier the better! You all can now head back to your families, dismissed! he then waved his sleeve after talking.
Shi Hong and the others couldn't even respond before being covered with a bright light, they couldn't move or speak at all so they could only look at Tian Long with respect and awe in their eyes. They then, suddenly disappeared from their places as they were teleported outside the Celestial Stairway.
"Being the owner of the Glorious Celestial Stairway is indeed convenient." he laughed.
Being able to teleport someone out of the Celestial Stairway is one of the abilities he obtained after he became the master of it.
After sending them out, Tian Long then turned around and looked at the four young ones which were precisely: Chu Feng, Long Xue, Long Wang, and Zhuang Yan.
The four of them had been listening since the start and they had been long dumbfounded at the things they had seen and heard from this master of theirs.
Tian Long flashed them a smile.
