Chapter 11: Departure to The Dead Forest
A little details before we continue
Most of events took place in 3rd layer of city which is known as Commoner's District. Arena, Owl's Inn, Owl's Guild are also in Commoner's District. Adger only visited Slum 4th Layer, 3rd Layer, 2nd Layer of city until now
The Palace which Adger found himself was in 2nd layer of city
City name is Rangtel.. Surrounded by tall walls, 4 gates in each side..
Next Morning, The Day of Departure.. Everything was set and ready, Russhel was waiting for Adger near wagon and Adger was still in his room
Adger, Checking bullets in his guns
Adger - aaaaahhhhhh... i still have some bullets in magazine but they are not enough, damn it i shouldn't have wasted ammo there just like that ( referring to incident with Russhel )
Adger has two guns on him, beretta 92 and magnum
Beretta 92 with extended magazine, 30 bullets maximum magazine capacity.. ( Beretta 92 is gold plated with tattoos on it )
Magnum, ( actually it's model 686 .357 magnum but customized and Adger calls it Magnum only. it's black) Magnum holds 6 bullets in it's chamber
Beretta 92 with 14 bullets remaining
Magnum with 4 bullets remaining
Adger - well i hope... it will enough for a mon.....no way.. there is no way i can survive a month in dangerous forest with these left over bullets
On The Way Down, To Wagon
Adger - damn it i have no choice but to take exam with leftover bullets.. i should have asked that messenger to grant me unlimited bullets
At Wagon, Russhel was waiting
Russhel
" how long you were planning to stay there in your room ? we are already late.. come on now let's go"
Adger
" hey... at least you got us something to ride on "
Russhel
" oh, don't worry.. they will leave us at border of dead forest " yea just 3 km of ride, we could have walked that distance but you insisted on getting a wagon
And they both headed towards the border of Dead Forest, which was in South
Russhel -Adger doesn't have a sword nor a shield but two weird looking stuffs on his.. i been curious about weapons of his... but i never had chance to ask him about his weapons
Russhel
" Hey, Adger... we going in a dangerous and we will have to depend on each other there... so i wanted to ask you about your weapons, how they works ? "
Adger
" oh, i never told you anything about my babies.. "
Russhel - The heck ? babies ?
Adger
" these are called guns where i came from, and they shot projectiles at high speed just like crossbow that you guys use "
Russhel - uh ? like crossbow ?
Russhel
" where did you come from ? "
Adger
" from far distance land. i live at gun slider, and i am the leader.. isn't that cool ? "
Russhel - Leader ?

" Like a king ? are you a king or like a prince ? seriously ? "
Adger
" heck yea, i am king of that land... " i ruled almost whole world
Russhel - no way.... he is stupid and with such short temper how could it be ?
Adger
" you are doubting me aren't you Russhel ? you think people won't follow me with me being such personality "
Russhel
" hmm i don't mean to offend you but i do think that "
Adger
" Then why are you following me ? "
Russhel - huh ? why i am following him ? but i am not followi.... Instead he kind of forcing me
Adger
" you don't know huh ? Mortals, they are kind of creature, who will follows a strong person with strong personality it doesn't matter if that person is cruel or not....as long as that person could protect his subordinates.. they will follow him " or at least that what i came to know when i started to think about it
Adger - i always have this weird feeling, that i also followed such person long time ago
Adger -oh this village, i been here
They Reached a village which was just outside of city..
Russhel
" this village, guild master said that everyone was killed here by a demonic being but i don't think it's true "
Adger
" demonic beings ? "
Russhel
" yea demonic beings, that's what we call them, they worship a evil god.. and that god grants them unusual powers.. a alone human would not stand chance against them but from what i seen, in this village there quite few people here and someone of them were also adventurers from owl's guild and they should've had chance defeating a demonic being "
Adger
" i don't know what are you saying but beings who attacked this village were mortals, humans "
Russhel
" yea, demonic beings wouldn't attack a village so close to town, they are intelligent just like us, humans "
Adger - huh ? why they can't ?
Adger
" i don't understand politics and strategy that well "
Russhel - that's why i said you can't be a king
Adger
" but i seen wounds on villagers when i came here first time and those wounds were from a sword and that sword should have been really sharp because there wasn't sign of another strike on people who died here "
Russhel - but demonic beings also use a sword and with their strength they could cut through a high level armor easily... Adger your reasoning is rather stupid.. now i have even more doubts about you

" let's just leave it be.. Owl's Guild can handle it so, we don't have to worry about it "
Adger - naa i am not worried.. but whoever killed them... i hope it's not related to gun slider.. the method of killing is somewhat similar to us
They reached Border of Dead Forest
Wagon Driver
" Sir, we have reached border, i can't take you any further inside "
Russhel - so we reached Dead forest huh ?
Russhel
"oh okay... here take this 30 copper coins "
Wagon Driver came down from wagon, he was wearing something like hoodie and when he uncovered his face

" no need to pay me... it's free for you kids "

" sir.... Curtis, what are you doing here ? "
Adger was standing behind wagon.. he came in front side

" hey what's the hold up let's go already Russhel "
Russhel - this guy

" Adger... "
Adger
" huh ? old man Cemtis Crosby was it ? what are you doing here ? "
Russhel
" Hey, don't be rude.. "
Curtis Crosby
" don't worry russhel... Well Adger, i was your driver "
Adger - huh ? oh i forget about driver.. i never.. i didn't know who was driving this wagon
Adger
" oh, but why are you here ? "
Curtis Crosby
" i heard that you were going to take s rank exam, and this time your exam is to survive inside dead forest, Boy, aren't you scared ? or you are just putting up an act ? "
Russhel
" of co.. "
Adger
" na.. i am fine.. i been here before "
Curtis Crosby and Russhel
" Huh ? "
Curtis Crosby
" boy ? what are you even saying "
Adger
" is that strange ? i came from South so, of course i crossed this so called dead forest " it took few me while to cross this stupid forest
Curtis Crosby - i can't believe this kid, even people who came from south would avoid dead forest because of aura that surrounded dead forest
Adger
" well, gotta go now.. Russhel let's go "
And Adger started walking towards the entrance of dead forest which seems to be normal from outside, at least for Adger

" there he goes.. as if dead forset nothing more than normal forest, Russhel i came here to give you guys a advice "
Russhel
" Thank you sir, it will help us a lot "

" don't go try to run away from dead forest... just face it just like this boy Adger.. the more you are afraid of it, the higher chance of it devouring you "
Russhel - huh ?

" i don't understand "

" don't worry when times comes you will understand.. now take care of yourself and come back alive"

" thank you for worrying about lowely adventurer like us "
As Russhel said that Curtis Crosby drove wagon towards city...
Russhel - i promise to myself if i made it back alive.... i will take my revenge
and He started running towards adger

" Hey.. wait for me ! "
Russhel.... -if i made it back alive.... i will take my revenge on you Adger
Adger.... -Yea sure.. thats what we agreed on from start, come at me whenever you feel like it
