Chapter 5: 5
Robert entered the classroom slowly with his cheap school bag and the hood covering his face.
His head was bowed low.
"Now my dear, introduce yourself, "the teacher said.
Still looking down, Robert spoke up.
"Hello everyone, i'm... Ro. Robert blacks"
"Encourage him with applause," said the teacher but no one applauded.
They all stared at Robert.
"Go find a seat that you like." said the teacher.
"Yes, auntie" Robert replied and started walking slowly to the end of the class.
He sat beside Caesy and put his bag on the floor.
Some students began to mock him but he didn't care about them.
He kept his head bowed low.
"Hi," Robert said and waved at Caesy.
"What's your name? I'm Caesy" Caesy introduced himself.
"I'm Robert. I thought I introduced my self just now" said Robert as he drew the hood to cover his face.
"I'm sorry i zoned out. Robert, can we be friends?"Caesy asked.
"If you say so," said Robert.
"Alright, it seems the newcomers like each other. That's good. Enjoy yourselves then"the teacher said and left the class.
When the students were sure that she was gone they started to make noise.
The three girls that Robert insulted earlier walked up to him.
"You think you can hide under our cupid's umbrella huh?" the leader of the three asked.
"Err...what's a cupid? Is it edible?"Robert asked.
"You.. you wanna play dumb?" the third girl asked angrily.
"What is dumb? Is it a kind of food?"Robert asked again excitedly.
"I will swat you to death if you don't behave yourself." the leader of the girls said angrily.
"Swat? I have swats."Robert reached his left hand into his bag and brought out sweets.
"Here do you like swats?" he asked as he extended his left hand full of sweets to them.
"My mama bought them. It's delicious" he advertised.
"You...annoying!" the leader said before turning to leave.
"Leader? Leader wait!" the two girls called as they ran after their leader who stormed out of the class.
"You are smart Robbert," Caesy said with a smile and patted Robert's shoulder.
"Is smart food?"Robert asked.
"Stop pretending! They have left already," said Caesy.
"I know," Robert said and covered his face more with the hood.
"Hey rookie!" a boy who had dyed his hair blue said.
"Is it me or Robert?" Caesy asked with a raised eyebrow.
"You two are rookies," the blue-haired boy said.
"Everyone knows that, "Caesy said lazily.
"You are a cupid. You've come to steal our titles" a brown-haired boy said with gritted teeth.
"Well it's not my fault that i was born handsome," said Caesy.
"You.." the brown-haired boy was at a loss for words.
"What if he did plastic surgery?" a red-haired boy asked.
"I did plastic surgery? You're welcome to investigate everything about me. I think my infant pictures will prove my innocence. If i were a girl...forget it! I don't wanna hurt my pretty girls here" said Caesy.
Robert rolled his eyes under the hood and scoffed.
"He's too proud," Robert thought.
"You are handsome and have taken our title but what about your new friend. Hey! Remove your hood"the blue-haired boy commanded.
"Am i your dog?"Robert asked.
"Then what are you? If you don't show your face then it means you're a monster" the red-haired boy said.
"Please don't regret what you said, "Robert said before raising his right hand to take off the hood.
