Chapter 10
I stood there, shocked. What did he just call me? Why is it our destiny? I ask myself as I stand there dumbfounded.
"Why am I called Phoenix?" I ask, confused. He looks at me calmly.
"You are called Phoenix because you are immortal, you can't be killed. Each time you get close to death you are healed, your fire powers are a part of that, but also a curse." He said, raising his head.
"WHAT?!" I scream, my mind blown. Is that why my wounds disappeared? I asked myself.
"When you are wounded, you automatically heal everything with your fire element. You are a descendant from a fire mage that befriended this worlds only Phoenix, that Phoenix in turn gave him a curse." Night said, tilting his huge head to the side.
"Why did he give him a curse? What kind of curse?" I asked, Intrigued. I walk over to Night, sitting down beside him.
"The Phoenix didn't want the female to die by Unnatural causes, the curse was that she couldn't be hurt by anyone but could only age and let old age kill her." he explained, curling his tail Around me. Oh, I'm guessing that curse is hereditary.
"Come, let us return." He said, disappearing. Where did he go? I thought as my thoughts turned to black.

I come to, on my bed, a spare blanket over me. Wait, why is there a spare blanket over me? I look around to see all my roommates sound asleep. How long was I asleep? Was that just a dream? I asked myself, getting up and going to the bathroom.
"No Phoenix, it wasn't just a dream." NightFlame said inside my head. Where did you go? I ask him through my thoughts.
"I am inside you, at least... until you need me." He said, laughing. He's inside me? How? I asked myself.
"I am your familiar now, so of course I can go inside you, until you need me I will stay inside you. If you don't know something just ask and I'll hear it since I can now read your thoughts." He explained. I open the bathroom door slowly, walking through and taking off my clothes. Setting my clothes on the counter I stand still, looking into the mirror, shocked at what I see. I have a dragon shaped tattoo across most of my body. The head was on my jaw, the neck went down till my mid-chest while the wings went around my back. the tail wrapped around my waist while, each front leg on the dragon tattoo went on each arm while the legs of the dragon went on my legs. WHY DO I HAVE A TATTOO?!?! I screamed in my head, backing away from the mirror.
"It is there because of me, I am inside of you so you have a tattoo." Night said. I stare at my new tattoo, so noticeable as the robe I wear doesn't cover my jaw so you can see the dragon head.
"Why can't it be tiny?" I ask, out loud. Scared at how everyone was gonna react. I turn around towards the shower, walking into it. I guess all we can do is wait and see tomorrow. I think.
"Yes. Just tell them you have a familiar, the teachers at least will understand." He says. Alright. I say to him through my thoughts. I finish my shower, dry off and go back to bed.

I walk into the classroom earlier than the other students. Mr. Spooky beat me this time. He looked up from his book and stared at my jaw. I turned away from his gaze and walked to my seat. He watched me walk to my seat before opening his mouth.
"Tattoo?" He asks, setting down his book. I start sweating, turning back I just nod. "Where did you get a tattoo from? Tattoos are rare to come by." He said, frowning. I just nod.
"Hurry and tell him already dammit." Night said. I could get yelled at! What happens if I get taken to the headmasters office, how will I explain that? I yelled in my head.
"Just tell him, you can easily have me come out to prove it, just need to be in an open space!" He yelled back.
"I have a tattoo because I have a familiar, I don't know how that would make me have a tattoo but he told me that's the reason." I said. Mr. Spooky stared at me. He then gets up.
"Follow me, you are excused from today's lesson." he said, walking out of the room. I ran to catch up to him.
"Where did you get this "Familiar"?" He asks, looking at me. I struggle to keep up with his pace.
"I don't know, all I know is that yesterday after classes I passed out or something and when I woke up I was in an unfamiliar place. There was a huge black dragon named DarkStalker, he asked if I wanted to make a deal. He would help me control my powers if I let his son become my Familiar." I explained as best I could keeping what happened about my curse out of it.
