Chapter 4: What's wrong with me?
"ummm..Lyn? If you need any help or any requests, just tell me. If i can do it, I will."
oh? Why is the demon so nice suddenly? Could it be that he feels bad for pranking me? LOL!
Since he offered, I should just make him feel the same way as me!
"really? Then.. please confess to old greggy how much you love her hair, in front of the whole class"
Devon seems flabbergasted at my request although he was the one that offered LOL
Eh will he really do it?
Lyn stared at Devon, full of curiosity.
After all, it's not an every day thing for Devon to do such thing
However, looking at the clock, Greggy's period was almost up. If Devon don't do it now, he probably won't.
Oh well, maybe he's fooling me again
To think I, Lyn, was fooled twice!

"What's the matter Devon?" a seemingly surprised Greggy asked
Oh? He is actually doing this?
"I..I really lik-"
AHHHCHOOOO!
The class burst into fits of laughter at the sneeze.
Dammit! I just ruined my own moment!
Seeing Devon stared at me confused, I had to tell him I was just joking. After all, I can always take revenge on him again! Lyn chuckled while thinking before replying to Devon that it's just a joke.
Devon was quite frustrated, for he kept staring daggers at Lyn
"eh you can't blame me for that. After all, YOU started this first and I merely learnt from YOUR ways"
Lyn was a little intimidated at him but was also pleased with herself for making him angry.
Fortunately (for Lyn) or unfortunately (for him), that moment was interrupted by Greggy
"I'm waiting, young man" greggy grumbled, waiting impatiently for Devon's response
"I really like... your lessons!"
The class was shocked at his response. They really thought he meant it
LOL really Devon? Hahaha how can you even like greggy's old and boring lessons?
Lyn giggled. Although she knew Devon did not actually mean it but since he had said that, Lyn is sure to use it against him
"Is that so? Then please pay more attention to my lessons." greggy replied curtly before leaving.
Lyn could hear Devon heaving a sigh of relief before seeing him scowl at her.
Heh since I'm in a good mood today, I will let you off. Lyn made sure to remember to draw Devon the next time he scowled at her.
*Devon's POV*
After the Greggy's lesson was recess, hence everyone went into cliques.
Well.. all except Devon. Sure, he's popular but, his personality and cold look made him unapproachable. Girls that wanted to get close to him can only dream as he never gave them a chance to speak before leaving. As a result, people named him 'demon'. Not the scary looking kind but kinda hot demon. Maybe because his name is Devon and it sounds really like Demon. Whatever the case, he can't be bothered. Although he himself chose to do this, sometimes he was really lonely after all, he is an only child and his parents are always overseas. Maybe, since today was the first time in years that Devon sat with a girl, he kinda liked it.
Ugh what's wrong with me?! I actually liked sitting with that girl Lyn?

*Lyn's POV*
After Greggy's lesson, everyone got into cliques and chatted about their day but Lyn saw that Devon just went to eat alone. The cold gaze that hides a tinge of loneliness Lyn pulled Lyn's heart strings. He may be mean to me but he's honest, aand he is not that bad after all..
"LYN??" Yennie, Lyn's best friend, called out
"Huh?"
What's wrong with me today? Ugh why am I even thinking of Devon
"I've been calling you for sooo many times! Whatcha thinkin? Aaand what's with you and Devon today? Fancy telling Greggy how much you love her hair and lessons seriously? Like do you even look at her hair? It's so dry and looks like it fried it in an oven before coming to school!"
Both Lyn and Yennie giggled as they shared the happenings in school
"OMO U WHAT? U ACTUALLY GOT DEVON TO TELL GREGGY THAT HER HAIR IS NICE?! WHAT"S WITH YOU AND YOUR HAIR FETISH? AND YOU REALLY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE PAIR WORK THINGY? ITS GRADED FOR GOODNESS' SAKE!" Yennie nearly choked on her drink when she heard Lyn talking about the mischief she made in class
"Well Greggy said our seating is arranged by grades. Since most girls have bad grades, I need to sit with them. After all I..." Lyn did not have to finish for Yennie understood that she was worried about the curse and getting hurt yet again.
Although Yennie think that there's nothing wrong with Lyn, Lyn's conversations were really peculiar. Their conversation started off with a simple hi then they asked each other for help in their homework. As they grew closer, they joked around and even talk about personal stuff like their crushes, embarrassing moments and secrets. However one day, they just stopped talking altogether. Poor Lyn did not know whether to acknowledge their existence or treat them as strangers. In the end, they just.. grew apart and become strangers. Although it's not like Lyn fell for any of them, it still hurts to lose someone you care about, especially for someone so sentimental like Lyn. With Yennie's personality, she would encourage Lyn to not care about that and that the problem lies with the boys however she knew that the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment.
"It's okay you still have me! I will never leave you like those idiots"
that was the only thing Yennie could say without making Lyn feel worse. Yet, such simple words of assurance meant a lot to Lyn.
Even if the whole world ditches me, if I still have someone to live for, I will not crumble.
After recess, they all went back to class. Once again, Devon was alone.
How is he even considered popular when he doesn't even have friends? Lyn wondered.
