A dissapointing battle with a goblin

"Finally, that was the last one", me and Isao are traveling through the "Passage cave". Now that I think about it, isn't "Passage Cave" quite a common starter dungeon name?

"Look! There's a Demon hound!" Isao shouted, terrified.

"Hmm, where?" as I turned around, there was a giant wolf in front of me. It was growling and seemed threatening, it startled me when I first spotted it. Which made me let killing intent out. Which ended in it fleeing to the back of the cave.

I followed the hound and confronted it, even though it was afraid, it still growled and attempted to scare me away. It has good courage, it may be a little small for a Demon hound, but maybe it can actually be of use in the future? The ranking may be low now... but it can get better.

I patted the wolf on the head, the wolf was really surprised by this. "I'm not here to kill you," I said with a friendly smile. The wolf tried to bite my hand, but stopped half-way and accepted his fate

The scary and frightened wolf was now energetic and obedient. While making our way through the "Passing Cave", I spotted a moving silhouette. The silhouette was human shaped, with a something that looked like a cloak… Let's hide just to make sure. I signaled the wolf, now nicknamed Wolfie and Isao to come to hide with me.

"DAMN! Where did that dark elf bastard go!" It was the voice of an old man, who has likely put many "heretics" on a pole.

He is a Hunter-type. They specialize in finding and eliminating their targets without being spotted. He is stupid for underestimating a pair of dark elf children since looks can be very deceiving.

"Show yourself!" The man shouted.

That's when I decided to make a move.

Making it appear like I just came from the other end of the cave, I approached him. "HM!" He hastily turned his head, after seeing me, he calmed down, I do appear to be an elf after all.

"What is an elf doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in the forest, little one?" These types of people were nice to everyone who wasn't branded as heretics. Heretics being people who weren't human, elves or mountain people.

Mountain people refers to people who live in the mountain region, commonly dwarves, draknoids, and giants.

He obviously won't believe I'm simply lost. "I was visiting a friend of mine, he lives close to one of the dark elf villages," I said in a cute voice.

"Hmm, is this friend of yours a dark elf?" He asked with a skeptical tone.

"Is there something wrong with that, mister?" I tilted my head a little.

"No, not at all. If I see this friend of yours I'll make sure not to kill- I mean I'll make sure to say hello!" Seems he accidentally revealed his intentions, not like it matters.

"That's a relief" I smiled as the old man left.

We continue to the end of the cave, as we saw the light- well, the moonlight, we thought it was a good time to set up camp.

"Young master?" Isao was curious about something,"What are you gonna do about the wolf?"

"What do you mean?" I asked

"You know, when we return home" Isao had a good question.

"I'll hide him my bag or something," I said, acting like nothing.

The next morning, we pack our gear and head back out. Nothing special happened on the road to the goblin village, well, Isao has gotten better at handling the knife I gave him. He'd make a splendid thief.

More and more goblins were charging at us. We were getting close, after fighting our way through the forest. We finally arrived at the village, the village was at the foot of the mountain in the middle of a big forest.

We arrived at the gate of the village, the gate was closed and it seems they haven't noticed us yet. So, I decided to blast their door open. This managed to get the goblins' attention.

"Isao, ready your weapon. They are coming at us with all their troops" I said while pointing towards the mages.

"Got it" Isao started to sneak past goblins and assassinate the mages.

Meanwhile, I made Wolfie attack the archers, shouldn't be too hard. The archers were Rank 4 at most.

I was going to take care of the 30 warriors that simply charged ahead. Some of them were only ordinary goblins as well.

I unsheathed the two swords I got off a dead body in the forest. "Hope these work!" I shouted as I used a dual-wielding technique that cut at least four of them in half. More goblins jumped towards me, I simply cut off their heads.

As more and more goblins tried to attack, more and more goblins had to be cut down. Which lead to one of my swords breaking. Luckily, one of the warriors had a sword on him, not a good one, but it works. So, by simply piercing the warrior I was able to take his sword with ease.

After having killed all of the goblins and broken literally, every sword that was ever unsheathed during this battle. The sleeping king woke up.

Wolfie returned to my backpack.

Then Isao suddenly appeared beside me. "Master, what is that?"

"It's the King," I said, "The one you're supposed to kill" I continued.

"I'd prefer not to, but if master thinks I can beat a king by myself, then I will believe that is so," Isao said, this guy is almost fanatical.

We went to the center of the village. It looked like a marketplace, it was there we were assaulted by the goblin king. The king was big, I would guess it's almost 2 meters in height. It had long, thin arms with slightly bigger legs. The torso was small in height but was really fat, the goblin itself was ugly. The face looked no different from a normal goblin, the biggest difference being the scars and beard.

*SHRIEEEEEK* As Isao heard this weird scream coming from such a tough looking creature. He had no choice but to laugh. "Did you hear that? Rank 6 my ass" Isao made fun of the king.

"Don't underestimate someone just because their battle cry sounds like a dying pig" I replied jokingly.

The pig- I mean the goblin king attacked first with a devastating attack that hit the ground and made his hands hurt and loses his sword. "The hell, I expected more from a king," Isao said. The king was jumping around blowing on its hand.

"I don't think it's actually a king. Oversized goblins do get born every once in a while" I said. "But piggie here might've had good leadership. I mean, this village is just too well-constructed to be a goblin village"

"Anyways, this is the end of it all. All the goblins are dead, might as well kill their leader, so an actual king doesn't come and takes the village" Isao made a good point. Although this king might be weak, no goblin king is stupid enough to ignore a village this good. And if an actual king where to establish a community here, then it might pose a threat to dark elf settlements.

"Do the honors, I don't really have a sword to begin with," I said. Isao was the one who going to fight it anyways.

"Alright," Isao agreed and stabbed the pathetic king 12 times. Seems he actually wanted a good fight.
