"Be my mess"
'Wait. Did I heard it right?' Elaia thought.
"What did you say?" she asked D.
"I said be my mess. You said that you'll open up with your special someone. So I want to be that someone. Given that I'm special, I guess I'll be the best choice for that role."
Elaia pinched the space between her eyebrows.
D, you're such a pain in the ass!
"You're just saying it coz I intrigued you. Right?"
"Yep."
"Wow! You didn't even bother to deny your intentions."
"Should I?"
Elaia hugged her knees and said, "I never had a boyfriend. And with clock ticking on me. I don't think I'll have a chance on having one."
"Then I'll be your boyfriend. I'll do things that boyfriends do with their girlfriends."
"Like what?"
D tried to recall the things he read in one of the romantic novels. "Like... like... like tying your shoelaces!"
"I'm wearing sandals right now. Better luck next time, lover boy." Then she laughed.
D massaged his temples. "Ooh! Like go in a date, eat ice cream. Or go in a carnival, play games, then watch fireworks."
Elaia shook her head. "I appreciate the offer. But still... no."
"Come to think of it, Elaia. It's a win-win situation. You can experience having a boyfriend while I search for answers for my questions about you." D explained.
She gave D a look like she way saying 'Really?' Note the sarcasm.
"And.. I... I'll cherish you. Like those in the movies."
"They weren't real, D. They're just actors doing their job on making people believe that boy meets girl then BAM! They fall in love!"
"But we're not on movies. So this is the real deal. Why don't you give it a try? Dating Death can be cool you know? Coz I'm cool!"
Elaia rolled her eyes. Is there an end to D's narcissism?
D looked at her trying to figure out how to make her agree on having a relationship with him. Then he thought, "Okay. Try me."
"Try you?"
"Yes. For a month. If you don't want to continue the relationship, then I'll find other ways to stalk you."
Elaia laughed. "A stalker never tells the person of his interest that he was stalking her."
D was dumbfounded again. 'Really?' He thought.
"Then how do I stalk you?" He asked. He really wanted to stalk her in the right way possible.
Elaia blurted another laugh. This time there were even tears forming at the side of her eyes and her stomach is kinda painful because of too much laughing.
"D, you also don't ask for advice about stalking to the person you want to stalk." Then she continued laughing.
"Fuck! This is harder than I thought!" D complained.
Elaia thought to herself, 'It's really cute when D is clueless'
