Chapter 16: I'm Death
She fuckin' squealed like a horny teenager.
But that was now least of her concerns. The important thing is that when she looked at Arion, she was sure that he can actually see D. And maybe the event in the coffee shop earlier were just because Arion didn't saw him at the angle of his line of sight.
Meanwhile, in Arion's mind. He can sense that even though Vainos and Akila were giving Elaia some flirty comments, they were just being friendly. But the guy who just arrived, the man who is called D were giving him an aura of dominance.
As if he was just a peasant and D was a king. A bit of jealousy were emanating from Arion right now. For the first time in his life, even being a successful doctor, he felt threatened by another man's presence.
Vainos could feel Arion's whereabouts. He chuckled lightly and said, "Elaia, I think you need another doctor here with you."
Elaia turned her head towards Vainos and asked why.
Vainos answered, "It seems like your personal doctor were experiencing some heart issues right now."
Arion was stunned for a minute. Was he that obvious?
Akila then asked, "So, Elaia. What's your business in Arizona?"
"We're going there to visit Arthur Jacobos." Elaia answered.
D, Akila, and Vainos looked at each other. If Elaia wanted to see Arthur Jacobos, then it is something serious. Arthur is one of the lightning servants of the God of heaven.
"Elaia, can I talk to you for a minute?" D asked.
Elaia nodded and followed D inside the private lounge of the first class area.
The moment she stepped inside the lounge, D turned to her and looked at her immensely. "I'm not good at lying, Elaia. I'm different from you. But because of my curiosity about you, I just feel like I have to be close with you. And if I want to do this the right way, I have to be completely honest with you."
Elaia gulped and nodded, "Then be honest with me."
"What I'm about to say would really shock you. But I can promise you that I meant no harm. Because if I do, then I wouldn't admit this in the first place. Elaia, I'm.."
Elaia and D blurted out at the same time.
"You're in love with me!" - Elaia
"I'm Death" - D
Then Elaia's expression was as if she was struck by a lightning.
What. The. Fuck. Just. Happened?
