Chapter 2: Rebirth
The cold air of winter felt like fire burning the wounds made by the gunshots. Far away Kiel could hear the police sirens playing in the distance, but it wasn't enough to comfort him as his end was nearing.
His ragged breath kept ringing in his ears as all other sounds started to fade away. The security of the hotel barging in was also ignored, not because Kiel couldn't hear him, but because of what he was seeing.
The blade of a huge scythe made of the purest white bone was resting on Kiel's neck, but the thing that shocked him the most was the being that held said weapon.
A skull as white as the bones that make up the scythe, with hands and feet only made of bones too, were the only part of this being that Kiel could see coming out of the robe it wore.
"Thy timeth hast not cometh to an endeth human, thy life is only beginning. Cometh with me, young one."(Reaper)
Kiel wasn't dumb enough to not recognise the Reaper. But even though the emotions that should have struck him simply disappeared, only the fear of dying or the reaper itself in front of him, remained.
With as slight movement of its boney left hand, the scythe plunged into Kiel's neck, severing the connection of his soul and his body.
From Kiel's position, the fear assaulting him plus his already weakened body, only made it impossible to escape the attack, yet when he closed his eyes to embrace it the pain never came to him.
What Kiel felt was peace and the burning cold pain from his gunshot wounds disappearing, as he fell into slumber.
The Reaper was holding a whitish blue flame, with a little red on its edges and a small, severely tiny, black spot in the center.
"Thy soul is quite quaint human, yet the c'rruption is tempting right? What shall beest thy choices, I wisheth I couldst seeth, but mine own w'rk is nev'r ending"( Reaper)
With those words leaving his 'mouth', the Reaper looked around, seeing the paramedic humans arriving along with the cops. The girl inside the apartment seemed to survive the shot in her chest, yet he wasn't concerned as he disappeared with Kiel's soul.

Edem, or what was left of it anyways, was once a paradise but today is nothing more than a living hell for all the mortal races who lives there.
This planet is facing a war that has lasted more than thousand years, so much blood has spilled that even the once peaceful plants turned aggressive, the once vegetarian animals became omnivore. On earth the nature's rule is survival of fittest, but here is survival of the strongest.
In a certain village being attacked by 'monsters', a young child's body was being toasted inside a flaming house, but he wasn't the only one, as several houses were just like his, even with living people inside while they were burned alive.
As the fire burned, the house came apart crushing the child's body. His life was already gone when the fire begun. Raising a young kid in this war is not only difficult, but impossible for those who are poor. Famine took many lives, and were not even talking about one of the four horsemen actions.
When the Reaper appeared next to him the fire flickered and disappeared around the child's corpse and the wood over his body began to rot at astonishing speed. The floor around the Reaper's feet began to turn to ashes as well.
"This realm is out of mineth owneth jurisdiction, but t's truly a shame what happeneth h're"(Reaper)
From inside his mantle, the Reaper took out a sinister looking heart and a metal sphere with strange runes all over it, in each of his hands as his scythe hoovered in the air next to him.
With a twist of his wrist, the heart fell from his hand and went into the corpse open (crushed) chest, as for the spherical metallic object, the Reaper took Kiel's soul and pushed it into the spheric, being consumed and making the runes glowing with the colors of his soul.
"Hest, activateth and repaireth the shell"(Reaper)
{Initiating systems. Systems activated. Soul acquired. Warning, soul possess traces of other elements besides holy and light attribute. It is recommended to purify the soul before completing the fusion.}
"Ov'rride function and continueth."(Reaper)
{Function overwritten. Proceed with shell's restoration and synchronization? YES or NO?}
The voice coming from the metal sphere was neither feminine nor masculine, also it wasn't mechanic, it was neutral and emotionless.
"Aye"(Reaper)
{Unknown command.}
The reaper greeted his white teeth and answered in the common language.
"Yes"(Reaper)
{Confirmation acquired. Initiating shell's restoration and synchronization.}
After completely absorbing Kiel's soul, it flew and went into the child's shattered head, absorbing the brain matter and blood to restore it after receiving its order.
The corpse's head was regenerating rapidly as the cylindrical metal object released a metal liquid, almost like mercury, or like that liquid metal android of a certain sci-fi film.
The liquid soon appeared in the chest, coming through the veins and covering the heart, connecting its open, and cleanly cut, veins with the wrecked ones in the body.
While the sphere was doing its job, the Reaper realized that its two previous commands were accepted in his normal way of speech while the answer he gave wasn't.
Not wanting to dwell deep in whatever reason why it did it that way, the Reaper waited for the metal sphere to finish its job and so he could leave soon, as he wasn't allowed to stay much longer in the mortal realm.
When the sphere had finished repairing the corpse, the fire that burned the house had already brought it to the ground, but only the area around the Reaper had turned to ashes completely instead of burnt wood as the fire died away.
{Synchronization complete. Warning, the user possess an organ that wasn't totally compatible with the rest of the body, thus it was weakened and restricted. User is in weak state. Complete recover will take three days to a week.
Three days if resting completely and receiving a good amount of nutritions. One week if having proper rest and receiving normal amount of nutrients. Prolonged time to recover as those two factors decline in quantity.}
The child's body breathed after a long while, the night had already came and the fire warmth was starting to fade. The flames on other houses were still burning brightly, casting light and shadows around.
The Reaper would be smiling if he had muscles, yet he couldn't, thus he only gave a nod and said his farewell.
"This is thy second chance human issue, may thee strife m're and bett'r this timeth, because th're's nowh're f'r thee to wend aft'r dying a second timeth. Yond is, if 't be true thee kicketh the bucket, because thee can acquireth imm'rtality h're"(Reaper)
The Reaper disappeared into thin air as a shadow could be seen in another house, watching the scene unfold.

Tressida I'm very sorry for posting this late after the first chapter. Truth is, my brother fell head on the asphalt and almost died, but he is well now and so is our concerned family. I'll try to post chapters once a day.
