Chapter 15: Dark Ritual pt. 2

After I escaped, I had to change my plans. A sneak attack wouldn't work anymore. They are now fully aware of the danger by their side. Because of this, I decided to first gather some intelligence without taking direct action. I hoped their level of security would lessen over weeks of security.

Although that was the plan, reality thwarted them. Apparently they had a traditional enmity with the Chickasaw tribe. My assassination was therefore apparently interpreted as an act of war. Security didn't lessen in succession, but a full blown war started.

For me this was one of the best and at the same time worst possible outcomes. On one side I had the chance to farm lives from both tribes. On the other side I couldn't let them kill each other and deny me the life's I need.

Even though I knew this was both a problem and a chance I couldn't influence the future. I could only take advantage of the present, so I waited patiently.

At first it developed only into little skirmishes, I couldn't get anything out of. Deciding to change the situation I did kill quite a few troops of both sides. The further development of the situation finally gave the chance I had waited for. The Chickasaw launched a full blown assault on the Cherokee tribe.

Deciding that this was the moment to take action, I made my plan to join the attack forces sneakily.

I didn't take any weapons with me. I didn't need to. My connection with the Great Spirit was all I needed, but my actions had to be fast. The attack started almost at the same moment I got the information.

Not waiting any longer I mounted my horse and started to follow the attack force. Hate was apparent in their eyes. The war paint was the scariest and aggressive one I have ever seen. It was irritating to the point, that one couldn't see humans, only a horde of demons horse-riding at full speed. The war cries also didn't lose out to demons; hate had found a place to dwell.

I smiled; good. It would be way easier to tear spirit and physical form apart.

The defenders were awaiting them already, the same amount of hateful aura lingering around. The moment both sides started to clash, I started to sing. A melody so terrifyingly disharmonious, that it had an otherworldly feel to it. A strange language I never learned made the hate in the eyes of both sides slowly turn into confusion and then fear. I raised my arms and head to the sky and sang. The melody was helping me connect to the disharmony around, influencing the balance of harmony and disharmony around. Slowly the humans in my vicinity started to lose colour. Their skin became black and they started to look like life was being sucked out. The baleful wars paint still on their faces, only now was I truly surrounded by demons. The people more far away were stunned in fear. The image of a bare chested warrior with war paint on his face singing the strangest melody ever heard by human ears, not caring about the bloodshed around, was an eerie sight. Some had even mistaken my person as a personification of the Great Spirit; how naive. The balance between harmony and disharmony was no longer existent. A whole absolute zone of death, lingering hate and fear started to form. The disharmony had won the everlasting fight for now. This was the right time to take out the spirits. My dark horse opened his mouth and two glowing balls of harmony exited. They lingered in the air only a moment, till I used the spiritual force field of disharmony to forcefully push them into my physical form.

When they connected with my mind I realized, the life-force collected wasn't enough. The spirit balls were trying to expand explosively in my body. The force field, in his dominant nature, tried to convert every bit of harmony, to fight against the spirits. So after all the other lives were taken, it started to take my own life. I realized how I became frozen in my posture. With raised arms and head, I sat still mounted on my horse. My body started to turn dark. With sunken cheeks, I slowly become a skeleton coated only with my skin. The only things that kept me alive were the 3 totems I gathered in myself. They completed the change into the disharmony the last moment I lived and were thus seen as the same dark energy. The moment I regained control over my body, I realized that it wasn't the kind of bond I wanted. My very own spirit was now only black and a mix of all spirits within. Even though my physical form is human I became a beast. Even though, my knowledge of human kind was the same, I became a monster. And the worst of all, even though I become nothing more than a soiling bundle of disharmony, I still got a human like intellect.

I realized right at this moment. This was the time; the battle between harmony and disharmony became entry into human kind. I didn't achieve the desired higher realm. I achieved the loss of my humanity, physically as well as mentally.
