Chapter 6: Plans and training.

"What!? The kid has what!?"

Inside the court chambers, there was a on-going meeting but then the King suddenly stood from his throne and shouted.

"Uhh...sorry..." The King sat back down and thought to himself. "Well i'd be damned, that brat actually has dual elemental affinity?"

That daughter of mine...just what kind of trouble did you brought back?

The king already thought of numerous possible things that could happen should the news about Samael's dual elemental affinity got out and he was sure that it will. He needed to brace himself for the incoming headaches that will happen in the future.

To the other court official it seemed like the king was listening to their reports but the truth is that the king's mind is occupied with other thoughts. Moments later, the meeting was finished and the king immediately sent someone to call for his daughter.

...

Inside his room, Samael sat on a chair with a glass on wine in hand. He twirled the glass, letting the wine sway as he contemplated. He recalled his past...

Born a cripple...he suffered the scorn and insults of his own family members. His only protection was that his parents were influential characters in their clan. With them protecting him, he spent his life quite peacefully but that didn't stop people from spreading rumors. So, his parents thought that he should spend his time doing something so they sent him to the clan library to be it's librarian.

Of course, clan members who went there to browse would always cast disdainful gazes at him and insult him deep inside. But it didn't mean that he couldn't get back at them, he was the librarian, he could always not authorize their borrowing of the clan books and scrolls, and the clan would not intervene because his parents put him there.

Angered and humiliated, his own clan member hasn't left a chance but to act nicely towards him. Samael spent most of his life inside the library where he read and studied till he learned almost all of the information recorded within the books, scrolls, and manuals inside the library. These include information about historical figures, heavenly fruits and artifacts, countless holy lands, and many more. But most importantly, he has read and understood the mysteries and teachings about the Martial path from countless cultivation arts.

He was only able to gain the ability to cultivate after his parents secretly stole an abundance of their clan's resources during the calamity that befell them to perform a grand ritual to wrestle away a sliver of heaven's blessing. The ritual was a success but at the expense of his parent's cultivation.

Essence...Body...soul...combat techniques, forging, and alchemy. He had read all these things and engraved them in his memories. Others may have their money, their background and countless other privilege but Samael has whole reservoir of martial techniques in his arsenal. Even if he can't train in all of them, he could still establish a powerful force using these arts. He has unlimited potential for the future in the palm of his hands...

After contemplating his past up until now, he began to plan for his own future. He knew he wouldn't be able to beat the White City who reigned in the Heavenly realm and the Black Citadel in the Devil realm on his own.

He must establish his own force...A mighty power that can make even the heavens bow its head before him...

Samael would settle for nothing less than the best but before he could do any of that, he must become powerful and influential. For that to happen he must plan for his own future, he now knows that his elemental elements are Lightning and Ice.

"I now have a starting point, now how should I proceed..." Samael closed his eyes.

In the darkness, he saw a barren land that stretches for miles, covered in snow and dark clouds loomed the skies. A mountain could be seen far across the distance, the top of the mountain was cut clean, as if cleaved by a sword.

There, Samael saw a throne...a simple stone throne. It faced the vast world before it as if it all belonged to it. Samael then saw a person walking forward from behind the throne, he wore black clothes with golden accents.

Thud...Thud...

Suddenly he heard thunderous sounds echoing bellow, he walked over and he saw countless soldiers in armor, they bowed towards the mountains. Samael marveled at the scene before turning towards the throne and his eyes narrowed and looked back at the soldier's bellow, he couldn't believe it at first. He then walked towards the throne where the person sat.

Slowly...his body superimposed on that person. After all...that person is himself.

Finally, Samael opened his eyes and from them the fires of determination and unbending will burned. He saw his ambition, his dream, he wants to build a mighty army to subdue his enemies and the heavens themselves. Even God would have to bow under his quest for revenge, that is his ambition.

Scouring his memories for the perfect cultivation arts to train in, Samael found two, which suited his ambition.

Strike with the power of Heavenly Lightning and the grandeur of an Emperor, that is the essence of the "Lightning Emperor's Nine layered Heaven"

Leave behind frozen, dismembered corpses as you slaughter your way into the battlefield with a cold Heart, that is the principle of the "Terminus Frozen Hell"

Samael immediately started training, taking off his upper clothing, and sat cross-legged, his hands forming hand signs as he sunk himself deep into meditation. It didn't take him a while to connect with the Natural Essences of the world, with two supreme arts aiding him Samael began to control the energy to enter him like a storm and it began to refine his body.

Because of the two arts he choose, the energy that went inside his body took on the form of a lightning as it coursed inside of him like a raging beast. Outside his body started forming layers of black ice started forming till it covered his whole body.

While he's deeply immersed in cultivation, Samael didn't know the commotion he had stirred.

...

In the courtyard, The king and the Princess were talking when the two of them suddenly stood up and stared in the direction of Samael's room. Above his room dark clouds loomed over, it was very easy to see as its the only place where a patch of dark clouds appeared.

"This sudden streams of Profound Energy...there's so many. How can the brat cause such a reaction from the world on his first cultivation session?" The King blurted out his thoughts because of his shock.

"Samael...What are you really?" The Princess thought to herself.

It wasn't only them that saw this scene, countless cultivators and experts so this scene and had their own reaction, even the normal people was dumbfounded by what they saw.

Soon, rumors spread about the young man that the Princess brought back, how he had the rare dual elemental affinity. Because this information was being passed on by word of mouth, people couldn't resist adding their own take on the issue. To the point where the story evolved to Samael being the princess' boy-toy or how she is having an improper relationship with him.

If he could only hear the things people are saying to him, Samael would laugh his ass off at the creativity of people.

The new youngster that the princess brought back and the peculiar sight of the dark clouds above that specific spot in the royal castle...It didn't take long for the big shots to connect the dots.

...

At the courtyard of the Clyde Family...

"Young master! Young Master!" A young boy's scream could be heard outside the courtyard. There was a young man at the center of the courtyard practicing his sword. His movements were graceful and deadly, his eyes contained a sharp glint that shone with every sword stroke.

"Ha!" the boy's scream made the young man stop his training.

"What made you run here with such urgency? Speak." He said.

"Young Master, the whole city is bustling outside. People are all talking about the Princess."

"What about my Fiancee?" The man asked.

The boy looked down, not knowing if he should speak or not. Then the young man spoke. "Well? you've already disturbed my training, speak already."

The boy braved himself as his mouth opened. "Word is spreading that the Princess have brought back a mysterious young man with her just a few days ago and he's been staying at the castle ever since. They say that he and princess are engaging in some improper acts while in the castle."

"And you believe these words? People, when they have nothing to do add their own venomous imagination to whatever they hear before they spread it. Then others do this as well, it becomes harder for others to know the truth this way..." Along the way the young man paused.

"But, there is no such thing as baseless rumors...There must be some truths in the rumors. Come, ready my horse and we'll ride to the royal castle. I want to know who this young man is..."

At this moment, Samael couldn't care less because he is fully immersed in his cultivation. Little did he know that his first actual challenge is coming...
