As she could feel some movements in the surroundings as she was surrounded from all direction.
Smiling with closed eyes, she didn't feel threatened at all.
[Ten, twenty, thirty, nah, forget it.] She shook her head in mind as she gradually opened her eyes.
She enjoyed this feeling, this moment, the time when she still had everything under control.
[The one over there should be the alpha.] She looked at one direction, far from her current position. It was a dark-fur Grey Wolf with its size much bigger than its peers.
Not sparring any more glance, she swept on her surroundings to see the Fierce Beasts.
[A Grey Wolf? But their size is bigger than what I saw at the Wolf Forest for sure.]
With the pack of Grey Wolves trapping her, Mingyue still stood in leisure as if she was walking in the park.
Unlike the usual careful Mingyue, now she didn't care at all about the Gray Wolves.
"Xiao Jing, Xiao Wu, focus in each of my movement." With serene voice, Mingyue reminded Xiao Jing and Xiao Wu as she walked step by step.
The vigilant Gray Wolves kept its distance from Mingyue at first.
But after not seeing any danger for the woman in front of them, the 'alpha' of the Gray Wolves ordered its pack to attack. One by one, the Gray Wolves pounced at the Mingyue.
Each of their movement was fast and hard to follow, and especially each of the Gray Wolf had a good understanding of its peers.
With splendid teamwork and guidance from their alpha, not many of their prey could hold on for a long time. Their prey would be done by them, sooner or later.
But they were unable to land on Mingyue.
Not even once!
The opposite of the Grey Wolves fierce momentum, Mingyue was at leisure to explain each of her movement as she avoided each of the incoming strikes.
"There is no need to use so much Elemental every time you move. Look at my movement, how each of my steps is incorporated into the essence of the Shadow Step itself."
Mingyue's every move was not very fast, but there was not even any Gray Wolf that could touch Mingyue at all.
"Even though the enemy think that I have narrowly avoided their attack, it is not the truth. It is the basic of manipulating enemy's perception. By making the enemies think that they almost hit you, the enemy will definitely exert more strength and Elemental unconsciously as they are trying to land a clean hit."
"It is the basic of the Frost Step, misperception. Always make the enemy think that it is close even though the reality is not. Or even you can make the enemy think that you are far even though you are beside the enemy."
Each time any Gray Wolf's claw or bite almost reached Mingyue, she didn't evade. But the Gray Wolf's claw and bite never touch any part of Mingyue.
Sometimes the Gray Wolve's attack appeared to be very close to touching her, and the other time Mingyue would turn into an after-image as the real her would appear in another place.
The Grey Wolves turned fiercer as the time passed by, no one spared their stamina to take Mingyue down.
But no one could touch the hem of her clothes, not even Mingyue herself.
"All this time, both of you know that you are not allowed to leave any trails. Even if you leave any trails, you will definitely cover those trails. Now I will show you the proper way of using these trails to confuse the enemy." Mingyue explained as she danced with the Gray Wolves.
If before, Mingyue was in the passive position as she waited for the incoming Grey Wolves, now she took the initiative and strode forward.
"AUWUOOOOOOOH!!!!!" A howl resounded and at the same time, all the Grey Wolves leapt back and retreated.
But contrary to the other Grey Wolves, their alpha stood tall in front of Mingyue.
Its eyes were filled with determination and challenge, as it had a 'let's fight' air while looking straight at Mingyue.
There was a prideful pressure came from the alpha Grey Wolf.
[Is it ordering its pack to retreat while their alpha covering their back, or this Grey Wolf is a battle junkie?] Mingyue scratched her cheek as she was disappointed about losing a sparring partner.
But even so, having a strong sparring partner was a good bargain, thus Mingyue didn't chase after the pack of Grey Wolves.
She focused all of her attention on the big and dark-furred Grey Wolf.
"Xiao Wu, Xiao Jing, watch it carefully." Not bothering with their reply, Mingyue prepared herself.
The fierce expression of the Gray Wolf became softer in a flash, but it returned back as it was accompanied with its howl.
"AWOOOOOO. . . ."
Its body grew a little bigger as a few red lines appeared on its fur. The ground under the Grey Wolf cracked as if it received a huge pressure.
In the short time, the pressure that was exuded by the alpha Grey Wolf multiplied
Mingyue didn't just wait for the alpha's preparation as she unfastened the raiment draped around her shoulder.
The alpha pounced forward, but Mingyue could see that it was a feint or there would be a follow-up attack.
Not looking down the red-lined Grey Wolf, she used her raiment to counter its attack while stepping to the side.
"BAM"
The first clash, no one had the advantage as the alpha Grey Wolf's attack was deflected.
But making use of the terrain, the alpha Grey Wolf leapt from one tree to another, making a new feint as Mingyue was in the middle of its movement.
It was planning to catch Mingyue guard while utilizing its speed and nimbleness in the forest, as it was its special trait.
Smirking a little, Mingyue planned to play along.
[Shadow Form!] She followed the alpha Grey Wolf's trails as she followed it from behind.
She didn't remove her presence as she blatantly was taunting the alpha Grey Wolf.
After the probing attack, it turned into a speed fight as Mingyue followed the Fierce Beast's rhythm.
The alpha Grey Wolf couldn't handle it anymore as it launched its attack directly. It understood that Mingyue was way above its league, but clearly suppressed herself to make an even fight!
It felt like being disdained, it was being looked down!
It, the alpha of Grey Wolves pack, was treated with contempt by its enemy!
Moreover, its enemy still had leeway to play along with!
One strike, tens strike, hundreds after hundreds exchange and the alpha Grey Wolf had no capability to land even one hit!
Every its strike was being deflected by the raiment on her hands! It was like a living being, the raiment understood where the strike would come and intercept and disturb each of the momentum!
Its strength was drained, but the fire on its eyes burnt brightly!
"AAUOOOOOOOOOOO. . . ."
It launched its final strike!
Seeing the domineering strike from the alpha Grey Wolf, Mingyue didn't hold back anymore as her surroundings were covered by snow.
As the alpha Grey Wolf was right in front of her, her majestic figure glowed. Unlike the bright shine of the sun, but the lonely speck of light akin to a moon.
"Boom!"
In a short time, the world became quiet as the snow fell to the ground.
Mingyue turned her body as she left.
Not long after she left, the snow disappeared and the tranquility returned to the jungle.
