Chapter 85: Hestia Regaladeus

Ezra expected Hestia to arrive the next week but since Voxis' told him, he prepared for the event. Ezra donned his suit looking dapper, his blonde hair had streaks of white and was combed and styled with pomade. He wore a three-piece suit which was made from fine wool, on top of this he wore a light chain mail.

His aqua blue cape dangled to his waist while steel pauldrons protected his shoulders. Blue capes were the sign of upper nobility in the empire while red was the colour of the Emperor and his family, for the longest time house Regaladeus were the ones who could wear red capes.

Ezra was quite impressed with the dyes in the empire, back on earth he read that dyes were hard to make during the medieval times. Fabrics also in Rex Imperium were quite impressive for their technology.

He told his parents that Hestia was coming to Bren after returning to Castle Blackfyre, and they hastily prepared rooms inside of the castle, the maidservants worked overnight to provide the most suitable rooms for Hestia's visit.

Her procession arrived late morning, she was met by maids sprinkling flowers along the main road, Ezra and his family waited at the north gates of Bren. The procession was not large, rather it was medium in size. Sixteen knights surrounded the carriage donning emblems of house Regaladeus' twin fires.

Voxis joined Ezra and family in receiving Hestia's convoy, he donned his nobility suit and with his royal blue cape. Upper nobility preferred different shades of blue and Royal Blue was house Rosenkrantz's preferred shade.

Upon arrival of Hestia, two trumpeters stepped up and announced the arrival of the Royal Princess. There were actually two types of prince and princesses in Rex the Royal Prince or Princes, and the Princes who held domains. Ezra never really understood the Principalities and never got to visit any of them yet.

He had asked his father before, Reitz said that some of the principalities answered to the Empire in fealty only but they did whatever they wanted. Princes were shrouded in mystery, they never competed for a Primarch seat but they were regarded as powerful beings some rumours say that they are even just as powerful as the Primarchs.

It was really weird for him, having read all of the books in the library in Bren, there was a lot of missing information. It was really suspicious he had asked his father casually about the books in Castle Blackfyre and why they were lacking. Reitz answered that upon joining the Legio Imperia, his library was rummaged by the Empire and decommissioned unsanctioned books.

Reitz told him that he was disappointed at the time but he didn't protest when it happened. The only books left were cookbooks and general knowledge books, some maps and local history spanning fifty years in duration. There was some sort of information blockade among, Legio Imperia which puzzled Ezra.

Hestia alighted from the carriage to meet Ezra, her steps were very light. She was smiling at everyone peasant and noble alike, but when she turned to Ezra she gave a curt nod donning a frown.

"Imperial Princess, we welcome you to Bren," Reitz bowed.

"Earl Blackfyre, thank you for your hospitality, I apologize for the short notice."

"Nay, Princess, it is a pleasure to be in your presence, Your Highness."

"I hope that your travel was pleasant Your Highness," Aerwyna commented.

"It was quite uneventful actually, Lady Blackfyre" smiled Hestia.

Hestia was actually a bit taller than Ezra, She had wavy ash blonde hair with streaks of white. She had high cheekbones and she had a pleasant atmosphere about her, she looked cheery. It was obvious that when she grew up she would become a very beautiful woman.

Hestia then turned to Ezra, whose cheeks were flush. His face looked like it lacked blood altogether. He had been observing as his parents and Hestia were exchanging pleasantries.

She frowned at Ezra.

"My betrothed," she nodded.

Ezra nodded back.

"I see that you still lack some manners. You don't even greet me properly,"

Ezra gulped. "I apologize, Your Highness, I hope you see that I did change these two years past. How did your journey go by the way?"

"Now you ask," she snapped while still wearing the frown.

Reitz and Aerwyna wore tense smiles while observing the scene. The onlookers whispered, no one dared laugh.

"A proper gentleman would greet me first, Look at Earl Blackfyre, could you at least learn from him?" she rolled her eyes. "Honestly, you have the manners of an Arcanist. There have been many stories about how smart you were. But if you were you would have already known basic manners,"

Ezra didn't know how to reply, he wasn't bothered by powerful mages or knights, but with Hestia, he felt intimidated which he found really baffling. He was supposed to greet her first but instead, he froze up. He kept on telling himself that this was supposed to be beneficial to Bren and he even tried to use magic to control himself but he didn't succeed because he blanked out when Hestia was reprimanding him.

He thought that her actions were too refined for a seven-year-old, she seemed to act more like a teenager. However Ezra understood that nobles who had greater magic capacity developed faster than commoners, they learned faster and had greater physical abilities. He was no exception. Hestia's magic aura was comparable to some barons at her age it was truly amazing.

Ezra suppressed his magical capacity, his magic control was great enough to even fool magic sensitives, and his magic aura was nearing his mother's resplendence already. His magic had been steady now and he could control amp and his other abilities better and it cost him less mana. It seemed that his brain was better adapted to his consciousness now and this lessened the magic consumption.

When Hestia stopped ranting he was startled. Hesta was staring at him with a disappointed look. She shook her head.

"Ezra, will you ever pay attention to a girl when she is talking?" Hestia sighed.

Ezra expected her to be furious, but instead, she wore a look of sorrow instead, which puzzled him.

"I was paying attention," Ezra said

"Really now? What did I say?" Hestia asked.

Ezra then repeated her rant word by word.

"There is that everything you told me?"

Hestia's ears turned red. She didn't expect that Ezra to do what he did.

"You, You scoundrel!" Hestia shouted. Now Ezra was utterly confused he didn't understand the outrage of the princess.

The princess ran back to her carriage.

"What did I do now?" asked Ezra as he turned to Voxis with his bewildered gaze.

Voxis chuckled, "Well, you humiliated my sister."

"What? I don't understand,"

"I'll tell you later."

"EZRA BLACKFYRE I'LL MAKE A GENTLEMAN OUT OF YOU YET THIS COMING FIVE YEARS." Shouted Hestia as she went back to her carriage.

"What?" Ezra asked Voxis again.

"Oh I forgot to tell you, she will be staying here for a while," Voxis smiled.

"Huh?"

"Yeah, five years to be exact."

Ezra almost fainted from the shock, he didn't know how he could endure the next five years.
