Chapter 2: A Few steps
After some sad thoughts, that reminded me, how I can't play internet games anymore, I put my focus back on manual.
I asked: Why only one manual?
Maria: I don't mind granting you another love session.
I shuddered after recalling the last eight hours and hastily told her: Don't do it, one is enough.
Maria laughed, with her enchanting laugh, and told me to focus on manual, I get rest manuals soon, on paper.
As I focused on the manual, I could remember it flawlessly. If I wished, I could even sing it, without a single mistake.
The manual name was Elemental Wizard King.
For me, the name was a bit lame, but I hope it's worth it.
The first page started with apprentice steps below Mortal stages, and by achieving the 1st Mortal stage I have become a mage.
To become a Mortal stage wizard I have to go through nine apprentice steps and to become an apprentice I need to start cultivating and absorbing world energy.
Because I had an elemental Wizard king manual that focused on metal, lightning, blood, and space, I had to absorb the correct elements.
Manual explained everything very clearly, because of that I laid back on a bed and focused on feeling energies. For my luck, I soon felt, but absorbing the correct energy was hard, and I had to take an equal amount.
It didn't take long for me to feel a sudden pain, I sat up and coughed blood out, but it was black.
Maria: Well done finally on the first step, eight more to go, before the wizard first stage.
Maria continues: Don't cultivate anymore, I will tell you when to proceed. Currently, you need to get a feel of how your body works, you are a bit out of sync.
I told her: You are right about that.
And then I asked about cleaning tools, but she told me not to worry, her goblins will clean.
After she finished, I heard someone knocking on the door, and after knocks goblin pushed the door open, and came near the blood, waved hand black blood was gone, goblin went away as well.
I asked: Your goblin?
Goblin was dark green, really short like hobbits from the Lord of the Rings movie, and very ugly.
Maria: Yes he is, I got exactly a hundred goblins, I used them to build this tower, and when you reach stage 1, they will build you wizard tower, but, not the problem currently. The main problem is that I can't issue quests until you aren't stage 1.
Me: I will be stuck here for a while?
Maria: Not that bad, I can bypass some rules set by Wizard King. That's why the tower was great, I also sent them to get materials for you to advance stage 1. For your luck with that manual, it's easy to get to stage 1, but that's where it all starts to go downhill.
I asked: What's wrong with the manual?
Maria: Nothing is wrong with the manual, but elements you cultivate are a problem, I found a good spot for you to live, but getting better materials, you need rare or unique materials.
Rest days I spent peacefully, I also looked around and made myself familiar with the tower, because the wizard tower according to Maria will be similar.
The tower was made of three floors, on the first floor was a hall and one classroom and barren library, according to Maria, the hall took the largest space with stairs to the second floor.
On the second floor, there were ten one person rooms, with two bathrooms, for females and males, and stairs continued to the third floor.
And on the third floor contained my bedroom, bathroom, and empty room.
There was also a basement, but access was from outside, because of that I haven't seen it yet.
When I broke through the third step, to fourth which was a qualitative leap, I felt far more powerful, not just my physical, but energy inside me as well.
I was happy, but that wasn't the only happy news, Maria finally managed to dmg her programmes enough or so she told me, to get me quests.
I could see a paper floating, and on it were my quests and rewards:
Main quest: Reach your first Mortal grade. Reward: Wizard Tower.
Sub: Leave the tower and find a human settlement. Reward: Kingdom Map.
Sub: Show mortals your superiority. Reward: Maria helps you find a talented student.
Sub: Take ten students: Reward: How to get paper for books.
Sub: --- Hidden ---
I asked Maria: What's with the hidden quests?
Maria: You have to complete the quests to unlock more, and I think it's good that you can finally start progressing.
I agreed in mind with Maria, but I will never agree openly.
Because I was so happy to leave, I rushed down from the third floor to the door, but I saw a goblin blocking the way.
I asked Maria: Why is he blocking it?
Maria: First of all you have only been training with energy, you got no spells, and the second reason, look at the sun, through the window.
I was too impatient I thought and apologized this time to Maria, and I thought, I wish to see outside, sucks here. After that I slowly made my way back to my room on the third floor, when I reached there I found out quest floating paper was gone and asked Maria where to find it.
Maria answered angrily: Just think, and it appears.
After I did what Maria told me it really appears every time I wish and disappeared as well, and after inquiring about it bit more, I found out, that others can't see it.
Quite convenient, I thought, while I let myself back on the bed.
Maria: I will now start burning spells into your memories, be prepared!
Me: Huh?
And suddenly I felt massive pain, I screamed and wriggled around the bed like no tomorrow, but luckily soon I passed out.
When I opened my eyes, it was bright again, very bright.
