Chapter 46: The Guest Arrives
3rd person POV:
It was a comical scene where the fighter was knocked out before the competition even begin but here we are, arthur and jiang li nursing the unconscious feng li back to health in what appears to be a hospital room of some sort.
The doctor or healing saint (self proclaimed) reassure that there was nothing to worry about as the patient will regain his consciousness within 5 minutes, it was his guarantee otherwise he will shave of his beloved beard which he so painstakingly maintained for the past 20 years.
"My prediction can never be wrong!" the healing saint announced with pride.
but opposite to as he had foretold, feng li open his eyes exactly after 5 minutes.
'May you rest in peace healing saint's beard' I give it a quick prayer as the supposed saint ran out of there, whistling and acting completely nonchalant as if he never said anything , he did loved his beard a bit too much but i didn't care to press this matter anymore.
The first thing Feng li did after waking up was to ask hurriedly "D-did the Martial arts competition started? "
Jiang li sadly look at him and replied "Sorry dear... But you have missed it... The competition had ended 2 hours ago. "
*Ting-Ting-Ting*
Bell started ringing all over feng li's mind as panic overtook him , all these years of practicing day and night wasted just because he stupidly climb the arena! He started hyperventilating, the world around him started spinning rapidly as he blacked out, feng li felt unconscious again.
"I was just joking!!! " Jiang li shouted and repeatedly slapped feng li's face in a panic, trying to wake him up.
All this was happening in front of arthur as a small smile formed on his face watching this shenanigans.
'Fcking idiots. ' he thought.

Arthur's POV
'I don't know when I started to change so much but when I killed moryo, I felt a part of me dying.
A part of me which I didn't know existed.
yet when it broke, it felt like I was leaving behind my previous self.
fixated on solving the mystery behind the moryo case, everything became objective oriented for me as getting into feng li's carriage, getting into his good side and even this friendship was all a pre planned act by me but still when I look at these two, smiling and laughing so happily, I started feeling things which I am trying to forget.
Maybe I am wrong, maybe that part of me never died but instead, I buried it deep in my self pity.
Buried in the debris of my self regrets yet when I see these 2 together who claim to be my friends...
I feel like my old wounds are healing.
I want to change...But this time for the better. Maybe laughing and taking it easy isn't so bad after all. ' I laughed loudly but this time it was a genuine laugh, the laugh which the old arthur of the earth maybe use to do... I don't know as I am starting to forget those things..
3rd person POV:
Arthur suddenly started laughing loudly as a tear drop form in his eyes. Perplexed and confused, Jiang li stopped slapping feng li and blankly stare at arthur.
"Now that's a surprise. " She commented.
"Indeed" Feng li replied which caught Jiang li off gaurd.
"When did you wake up dear? " She asked
"Who can sleep after he is slapped 100 times? " He calmly replied with his red cheeks...
The three of them started laughing again seeing Feng li's red face when suddenly a butler came up to them announcing that the ceremony was about to begin.
The three of them immediately stop what they were doing as all of them followed behind the butler but of course, Jiang li didn't quite down as she kept on jabbering throughout the way.

Arthur's POV:
Both feng li and I quietly followed the butler through the grand hallway yet Jiang li kept on talking to herself.
She indeed has the gift of bringing out the good side of people but her gift tends to incline on the talkative side which sometimes become slightly annoying if I am being honest, for instance, right now!
Soon we enter the same old grand hall but this time it was filled with rich and important looking people.
I did a quick scan and the most powerful person among them was a 1st level deity transformation realm expert! Suiting of the grand name of the prestigious li clan yet I know the real important people had not even arrived yet!
We enter the pack of social elites party like a bunch of oddballs as right now, the people were divided into multiple groups of their own social circle, adults had their own and teenagers had their own as well and we weren't a part of any of them.
We stick out as a sore thumb but do you know who stick out even more then us?
At the centre of this grand hall, a big group comprising of powerful and influential young masters and young ladies were surrounding a certain lady like a bunch of moths drawn to a torchlight.
Of course it was none other then Huan li, the talented and beauty huan li who is not only a prodigy at the 8th level foundation establishment realm but also an influential captain.
Truly a jealousy inducing stature as she is the dream of many, both males and females.
She was wearing a simple yet elegant dress which truly focused on her curves yet the noble air around her prevented others from thinking otherwise.
Suddenly our eyes met as I was examining her.
She laughed coquettishly and motion her finger seductively towards me. Telling me to come to her.
'Such a sly little girl, the entire noble air around her vanish when she flirted with me. I am damn sure she is scheming something but lucky for you, I am not interested in playing your drama games. ' I thought for a while and completely ignored her which pissed her off.
But nonetheless, she said something to the people surrounding her as all of them suddenly stare at me.
"He is quite handsome! " One girl whisper to her friends hoping that others didn't heard her but well she was wrong as I heard it loud and proper and what can I say, I am indeed quite handsome.
"Why don't you join us friend? " One of the young master invited with the smile of a corporate salesman and others joined him.
"Yes, join us instead, friend, since we are a much more entertaining bunch then those oddballs. "
Like a typical wuxia side characters, the boys and girls started to mock my companions indirectly but not all the people in huan li group made fun of us as some of them even tell their friends to shut up while most just remain silent.
I knew they were mocking us to either impress huan li or gain her favour but nonetheless, I wasn't amused.
"Sorry but I am afraid I can't join you all as I don't associate with donkeys. " I politely decline them which caused a silent burst of laughter from Jiang li but our feng li was rock steady in his expression like all these insults were a regular to him.
"You dare! " A young master growl and so it continues the journey of face slapping or so I thought.
"Please refrain yourself from such idiocracy my friends." A young master politely requested but judging by his words, he was passive aggressively warning them.
"Our guests will arrive soon so stop embarrassing the li clan's name." He politely adviced and asserted his dominance as the other boys quickly shut up.
This young master had a tall built with sharp handsome feature, tho he was a bit older then us but like a prominent young master in a cultivation novel, he too had lackeys following him.
Seeing him, Huan li turned away in disgust as she walked away from here along with her entourage.
The passive aggressive young master smiled for a while, 'Maybe he likes being insulted? ' I thought as he approached me and bowed slightly.
"I am sorry for showing such a disgusting sight to our young guest. " He apologize but his words were still passive aggressive like usual, undermining me as a "young guest" and the other young masters as "disgusting".
'A sly politician' I thought but I didn't showed it in my face as I also smile
" I am Li sheng my young friend, I hope you don't take these fools words personally. " he introduced himself but didn't asked for my name as it suggested that either he was too proud to care about my name Or he already knew it!
"It's alright young master but how did you know I was a guest. "
I probe trying to find out if he was keeping a track of me.
"Of course I know every face of my clan members and yours resemble me of an "outsider" So of course I kept tabs on you ever since my friend feng li brought you here! " He openly admitted that he was spying on me and pressed the shoulder of feng li in a "friendly manner" but the grunts of him in pain tell otherwise.
Feng li hands tremble in anger and Jiang li's tremble in fear, seeing such extreme reaction from both of them took me by surprise as I immediately helped them out by pulling the young master's hand away from feng li's shoulder.
The raccoon like young master looked at me with surprise, maybe he was shocked by my strength or by my courage to defy him but nevertheless, I didn't care.
"It would be wise of you to not continue this any further" I warned him while small arcs of lightning flew from my fingers.
"Bastard! " One of his follower tried to attack me but the young master stop him with a wave of his hand. He then stared at me like I stole both of his kidneys and commanded his lackeys to follow him as they started to walk past us towards the opposite end of the hallway.
"The Guests of Honor have arrived" Someone shouted as the trumpets and musical instruments started playing along with the shower of golden rose petals. All the people present there turn their heads towards the colossal gate but my eyes were fixated on somewhere else. Someone else was also staring at me with hatred in his eyes, The young master. As our eyes collided, I knew one thing for sure,
'He will surely try to do something funny' I smirked at him playfully as he gnash his teeth.
'Fcking 4th realm foundation establishment realm' I mocked him
but at time, I didn't knew that taking light of him will become one my biggest mistake.
