Chapter 23: Secret Revealed-II
"You are not Ezra! " Arthur asked with a grave tone
"Bingo! " The man who Arthur previously thought was Ezra , answered
*Slash* A sword swung at Arthur's neck and sliced him in half
*Poof* a wooden log appeared in the place of Arthur
"Who are you!? where have you kept Ezra! " Arthur appeared few meters back and asked while brandishing his sword
"You have already met him no? that corpse over there is Ezra! " the man licked his sword and replied with his eerie and hoarse voice
"What.. " Arthur looked at the decomposing corpse, his voice quivering "What do you mean!? "
*Kekekeke* the man started laughing " You asked me how did I survive when I was surrounded in this bamboo forest didn't you? "
The man ran towards Arthur while swinging his sword imbued with holy qi.
*Clang* Arthur parried it with his cleavers
"The answer is" the man smiled and slowly spoke each word "EZRA- DIDN'T- SURVIVE- THAT- DAY"
"He has been death for over half a year! " the man smiled eerily and Arthur slowly turned towards the decomposing corpse.
*BOOM* both of them seperated from their clash leaving a small crater behind.
"The one you were travelling with all these days , whether you call him tom Or Ezra, was me all along who had consumed Ezra's memories" The man laughed "And I? I am the person you are searching for, the one who was supposed to be trapped inside the vase.. Moryo! "
*Boom* an explosion was happening inside Arthur's mind, all types of thoughts were running amok inside his mind, he remembered the kind tom who called him his younger brother and was ready to sacrifice himself to save Arthur... was this all a lie? nothing was making sense then he remembered something.
"How are you using holy attribute! " Arthur asked in astonishment as demonic cultivators weakness was the holy light attribute!
"This? " moryo laughed while looking at his sword which was glowing with holy light attribute
"This is the fruit of my grand scheme! I am finally free from my weakness! " moryo shouted while laughing non stop
"Well since I am about to kill you , letting you know about it won't matter either way! " moryo laughed and his face started transforming
"I sealed myself inside this vase for 200 years to weaken my cultivation, addressing my followers to unseal me when the right time arrives.
The right time arrived and they unsealed me, since my cultivation was weakened, I could easily fuse my own soul with a person who was far weaker than me using a special ritual that required hundreds of human cultivators as sacrifices. And the soul that I fused with was Ezra's soul! " moryo smiled eerily
"I took his soul out from his body and fused it inside my own soul and sealed him inside my own body , then I sealed my soul away to let Ezra take full control of my body so that I can slowly refined his soul. The ritual for this happened inside this very bamboo forest itself! " Moryo widely opened his arms.
"From the outside, it looked like only Ezra's soul was present inside my body thus, even fooling the high heavens!" Moryo laughed proudly
"The one you met was indeed Ezra whose soul was trapped inside my body and was slowly getting refined! " moryo laughed "Kekekeke that's why he kept getting weird dreams, the more I refined his soul, the more he remembered about his past"
"Didn't he tried to warn you? " moryo mocked Arthur while black bones started sprouting from the ground
"Didn't his behavior drastically changed everytime he remembered something? that's because I was slowly taking over him! "
Arthur face was blank
"You don't understand Arthur! "
"I am his prey! he won't let me live! please run away! leave me behind"
he remembered Ezra shouting and warning him inside the cave at the holy lake, trying his hardest to warn him about something that he couldn't even remembered himself
"Didn't the other souls also tried to warned you" moryo laughed
'Run away kid while you still can!? '
"Run away! he will kill you! "
"It's too late for him"
"He's already on you! "
"He's watching you"
"Hide! "
" You still have a chance, run away! "
"He is not what you think he is, run away while you still can lad"
Arthur started remembering all the warnings of the soul which were making much more sense now
"The more I refined his soul, the more I was freed from my seal and after getting this vase and key, My soul was finally set free and I fully took control over this body! " Moryo laughed
"What about the heavenly oath of the dao heart" Arthur asked with an unknown expression [AN: See Chp 5]
"That? that was made by Ezra's soul wasn't it!?
Kekekeke that has nothing to do with me, moryo! "
"I fooled the heavens itself !!! that's why I was able to attain this holy attribute! it was previously Ezra's but since his soul has already been refined... it belongs to me now! " Moryo smiled eerily
Black bones slowly started sprouting out from the ground, slowly covering the forest and trapped Arthur inside a cage made out of black bones.
After a moment of silence
"I will kill you. " Arthur said with a chilly voice inside the cage, his aura radiating with pure murderous intent
"kekekeke" moryo laughed in amusement
Arthur quickly performed hand seals and slammed his right hand on the ground "Uchiha flames formation! "
The cage vaporized and the entire 100 meter area around Arthur was covered in a barrier made of red flames.
