Chapter 1
[Urgent System Mission}
[Survive the incoming wave of devils, angels and fallen angels]

"Fuck!" cursed Stephen. He was looking up at the sky where countless winged figures were constantly appearing via magic circles. The wind blew his long blonde hair away from his face revealing smooth cocoa skin and bright blue eyes. In front of him and the hundred or so people besides him was the body of a small boy with red hair whose blood had drenched his clothes and formed a puddle beneath him.
He had woken up a few seconds ago with an entire life worth of memories of a dude who coincidentally had the same name as him. If that were his only problem he wouldn't have cursed as the moment he woke up he instantly felt as if he had been this universes' Stephen and himself at the same time. He could have easily lived as this new Stephen without suspicion if that were his only problem.
But No, the universe had greater issues to plunge him in the middle of. The previous Stephen had been kidnapped by the Hero Faction along with a few hundred more misfortunate souls, who forcibly raised their power to High Class before they assassinated Milicus Gremory and left him and his unfortunate friends on the scene. The worst part of the situation is that he and his fellow unfortunate friends were priests the Catholic church and that this assassination happened right in the heart of Gregori territory.
Currently Stephen did not have time to focus on the system message in front of him or the fact that he had transmigrated into the Dxd universe because he, like all the other high class and below beings were under unimaginable pressure from the 12 beings currently standing hundreds of metres in the sky staring each other. There were 4 from each of the biblical faction and their power was clearly way above everyone else's pay grade. Everyone else below them stood frozen in their spots, eyes glued at these 12 knowing all too well that a war was about to start.
One of the beings from the fallen angels threw an enormous spear made of bright yellow light at the Devils and instantly all hell broke loose. Light spears and magic from all known spectrum started raining on the battlefield and the melee-oriented soldiers from both sides charged at each other.
Luckily in that split second the 2nd Great war was initiated, all three sides seem to have forgotten about Stephen's little group which gave him a split second to charge at the nearest fallen angel who was busy chucking a light spear at an angel. If there was one thing Stephen had experience in, it would be surviving. You couldn't become a law student from being an orphan street kid without seeing a good amount of shit.
On instinct Stephen activated his light sabre rip-off light sword from it's hoister and plunged it straight into the fallen's skull killing him instantly.

The Hero faction gave them their weapons back before they were teleported here to make the setup look more realistic.
Before anyone could notice he jumped onto the devil who was also distracted blocking a light spear and jedi sliced his freaking head off.

"Bastard!!!!!" shouted another devil in anger as he realised that his friend had just died before his eyes. With a sword in hand, he recklessly charged at Stephen with out a plan and like all those idiots before him without plot armor he got his sword hand sliced off before his head followed.

Before the low-class devils' head hit the ground, Stephen jumped to side on a whim and a white light spear sped right where his head was the previous second. Looking in his assaulters' direction, he saw an angel preparing another light spear and Stephen charged at her instantly no wanting to give her a distance advantage as she clearly was able to attack at a long range and he couldn't.
Seeing him approach the angel grabbed her light spear and prepared for a block as he was already a few metres away from her position. Luckily for her, the spear was enough to block Stephen's ruthless slash aimed for the neck and the impact blew her away a few metres away.
Jumping to the side again, Stephen dodged a book-thick bolt of lightning. This time the attacker was a devil who had a very familiar red and gold gauntlet on his right hand.
[Ding!!] [Sacred Gear {Twice Critical} User detected]
Even without the notification Stephen instantly recognized the gauntlet and charged at the devil before he could double his power.
*BOOS-*
Before the devil could finish boosting his right hand was sliced off and his head followed a split second later.

Stephen instantly jumped to the side on instinct again and another Light spear flew past where his head was.
[Ding!!] [Danger Sense skill gained]
The angel girl he had repelled a second ago had returned and she looked furious as she chucked another light spear in his direction which he sensed a mile away and easily dodged. But in the instance, he dodged his danger sense skill went hay wire as he saw another light spear headed for his abdomen and he had no way of dodging. Bracing for a severe injury, Stephen felt something hit his abdomen but something was amiss. The spear didn't have the amount of power he had expected. Instead of a gaping hole through his stomach, there was a bruise.
[Ding!!] [Mana Hardening skill gained]
The angel girl had confusion written all over her face but that disappeared instantly and replaced with more anger before she threw another spear. This time his danger sense did not make much of a fuss and he instinctually knew why. This time instead of his abdomen, he hardened his hard light sword and he, with not much force sliced the incoming projectile in half.
