Chapter 2: Chapter 1; The Start of The Journey

{The Start Of A Journey}

It was a peaceful morning. She breathed softly as she slept comfortably in her bed. Not expecting anything. The sun shined only lightly through her curtains and chirping could be heard by the birds that sat on a tree. Everything seemed calmed and delightful...

...But what she wasn't expecting was a grown man coming to her door.

Bang, bang!

Cara's brother loudly knocked on her door.

She instantly shot up as she looked around her room. Thinking someone had broken or something had fallen but no…

It was only her older brother, Jimmy.

"Cara! Wake up! Don't over sleep now! Don't forget you need to go buy yourself some supplies for school!" Jimmy loudly said as he continued to bang on her door.

"Yeah, yeah! I'm coming!" Cara yelled back at her brother.

Cara groaned as she ruffled her long messy hair. She Had forgotten about today. She was supposed to wake early and go out to buy supplies for school. She looked over to her clock that stood on her nightstand.

{It read; 8:30 AM.}

Tomorrow was the first day she was supposed to go to Hogwarts. The Magical school she heard so much about. She will actually be the new student there besides all the first years. She was gonna be a third year because most of her life she went to normal public schools or what she likes to call it, muggle schools.

Cara then began slowly getting off her bed and sat at the edge of it. She rubbed her eyes gently and let out a yawn. Then she stood up and stretched her arms up high above her head. She walked over to her drawer and pulled on one of the drawers and began shuffling through the varieties of clothing. Trying to pick what she wanted to wear for today. She grabbed a simple grey warm sweater and a pair of blue jeans. It is a bit chilly in London compared to California but she has gotten used to it. She quickly went over to her closet and grabbed a folded towel. She quickly ran to her door to the hall and opened it.

As she walked out, she stood on the second floor of her house and as she walked to the bathroom, she smelled food being cooked in the house. She stopped midway in her step to smell the food more that was being cooked. She smelled a whiff of it and her mouth began watering instantly and drool slightly hung from it. She could smell many things, like the delicious smell of soft pancakes and leftovers from last night. She loves leftovers. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and quickly ran to the bathroom so she could eat soon.

{Few minutes later…}

Cara stepped out of the bathroom, with brush in hand, brushing her long hair. She quickly and carefully walked down the stairs as she still continued to brush her hair. She quickly ran right through the living and right into the kitchen. Both her sister in-law and Mom were already getting the table ready. Cara then noticed the plate of leftover cut steak meat on the counter while her mouth was watering. She began walking over to it quickly and tried to get a piece of it-

Slap!

Out of nowhere Cara's hand gets slapped away from the delicious steak meat and she backs off hurryingly.

"Hey come on now. Just wait for your two brothers first then we'll eat." Cara's sister says as she stands in front of the food and laughs.

Cara frowned angrily as she rubbed her hand.

"Well you didn't have to hit my hand that hard, Euy Karen." Cara says sassily.

"You're such a big baby. I didn't even hit you that hard." Karen says as she laughs a little again.

Cara frowned more as she went to go sit at the dining table. The woman who had hit her hand was her sister but not blood related. She was her brother, Jimmy's girlfriend but Cara just preferred to call her as her sister. She was also a full blooded wizard and her other brothers were blood like herself. Her Mom is a full blooded wizard while her dad was a human.

Cara waited patiently to eat or at least tried to wait. She just occupied herself by brushing her hair as she watched as many plates and bowls of food were placed down and began slowly inching her face close to the food. If she dared touch a single one, she would be dead by now. So, she didn't touch anything and just stayed seated in her chair, still brushing her hair.

Then footsteps could be heard coming down the stairs and came her two older brothers; Simon and Jimmy. Cara was slightly worried now. No not because she'll have to wait to eat but that her two brothers are like Pac-man's and will eat everything.

Then Cara's bowl of rice was placed in front of her and her attention got turned away. She quickly dug in as she grabbed food from left to right and kept eating away.

"Looks like someone's hungry." Cara's, other older brother Simon, spoke as he sat down.

Cara ignored his comment and kept scarfing down food. She let out a sigh as she felt like she was in food heaven.

{Few minutes later... }

Cara finally finished her food. She slouched back into the chair and held her eyes closed.

"That was so good…" Cara mumbled happily.

Her family laughed at her posture as they all began to clean up. Cara let out a sigh and began standing up as she grabbed her bowl. She went over to the sink and placed it in. Then she started cleaning the dishes while the rest of her family walked off doing other things. Her sister came over to her and began rinsing off the ones that were soaped.

"So you're excited to go to Hogwarts?" Karen asked as she began putting the few dishes away.

Cara raised an eyebrow as she thinked for a moment. Was she excited..? She mostly had mixed feelings about it. It's just she'll have to make new friends and learn magic she has not learned before.

"Ehh...I don't know. I guess it will be great for me to go to a different school but one that's far away? Far away from my own family and even worse…" Cara said as she grumbled.

Cara's sister laughed quietly as she stared at her.

"Now what's more "worse" ?" Karen said as a small smile crept onto her face.

Cara noticed how her sister didn't take this seriously and began frowning.

"Well what's even worse is that I'll be the only third year student who will be new there and the only third year who doesn't know how to even do any magic." Cara says with a slight angry tone.

Her sister laughed again as she gave Cara a sympathetic look.

"Well that's completely fine. There's nothing wrong with learning something new." Karen began saying as she smiled.

Cara then gave her sister the side eye look and groaned.

"No it's not "fine". Yes, I'm a wizard but I'm only half wizard and no one has not taught me a single thing about magic. Not even about spells that I could use to defend myself." Cara says in a slight sad tone.

"Now Cara...You know we talked about this before and so did your Dad talk to you about it. He just wanted you to be normal and...protect you." Karen said as she sighed.

Cara frowned more as she placed the dish down onto the drying rack and began leaning on the counter.

"Yeah, I know...But he promised me one day he would teach me! He told me one day I could be like him but every time I asked if I could finally learn about magic, he would always say "I'm too busy" or "Not now sweetheart"..." Cara says while sounding upset.

Karen walked over to the upset girl and gently patted her head comfortingly, while also frowning. Then she began wrapping her arms around Cara in an attempt to make her feel better. Cara stood a bit stiff but began slowly melting into her sister's embrace. Cara just laid her head on her chest while trying to collect herself.

"I just miss him…" Cara says quietly.

"Yeah...I know you do." Karen says sympathetically.

They stayed like that for a moment until Cara quickly broke out of the hug. Karen was surprised by this but did not question it. Cara was now smiling while fidgeting with her hands but her smile seemed to be a bit nervous in a way...Or maybe embarrassed?

"Uh...I'm gonna go grab a few things from my room then we can go, alright..?" Cara says and quickly goes to run up the stairs.

Karen watched the petite girl run up the stairs and let out a sigh. She began frowning now and shook her head. She covered her mouth in a nervous manner as she thinked for a while. Of course It wasn't because of Cara.

Just, she had a lot on her mind...

{Few minutes later…}

Cara ran out of her room and down the stairs of her home. As she reached the first floor of her home, she saw her sister waiting at the door patiently while a book in hand. She was reading a book about cooking recipe's since she did like cooking.

Cara then ran up to her sister while excitingly saying "Hey! I'm ready now to go."

Karen then lifted her head from her book and smiled. She observed what Cara wore and what she wore was a simple jean jacket and her small but stylish side bag and her hair was tied with a silk red ribbon. Still, some strands of hair fell onto her face.

"Well don't you look stylish. You know, we're just shopping for school supplies, right? Not looking for a boyfriend for yourself." Karen said in a playful tone as she laughed.

Cara also laughed as she spoke," Yes, yes i know! But you know me. I like to dress up a bit sometimes and also, I am so not looking for a boyfriend!"

Karen laughed again as she gestured to the girl to the now open door. Before they both went out, they said bye to their Mom and headed to the car. Cara opened the car door to the front passenger seat and sat down. Of course, her sister sat in the driver's seat. It was a nice and comfy car. The car was a white on the outside while the inside of it was a dark brown interior and all four seats were made of a leather texture.

"Now, you got your letter?" Karen says as she brings her keys out.

Cara then quickly unzipped her bag and brung out the Hogwarts letter.

She brought it up for her sister to see and says," Yup! Got my letter right here."

Karen nodded her head and was now already to go. Cara began fastening her seat belt but realize something out of place. No she wasn't forgetting and nothing was wrong with her seatbelt just...

Where would they go to get a wand..?

Cara has not seen any type of wizard shop in sight while all her years being in London and not even another wizard as herself.

"Wait a quick second." Cara says out of blue as she had a confused look on her face.

Before Karen could do anything yet, she quickly diverted her attention to the confused girl.

"Yes?" Karen says, also confused.

"Where are we gonna go to get all of these magical stuff? Is there even a magical shop in London?" Cara questioned her sister.

Karen then laughed a little and smiled.

"Well the place we're going to is out of sight from all these muggle's and only us wizards can find it." Karen say's with a bit of excitement to her tone.

"Then what is it called?" Cara questioned her again.

Karen start up the car and answered Cara's question with,

"Diagon Alley."
