Chapter 240: 240. Surprise!

Paige cursed endlessly in her head and didn't move for a few moments, trying to calm down her racing heart, before remembering that she had to hurry.

She cautiously shoved Meier off her, who himself was startled by the shot that had nearly hit him. His head turned in the direction of the closet, looking at the hole on the side.

"Why the hell are you here?" She hissed, standing up, and after a bout of dizziness from the fright, she went back into the corridor, ready to look in the room next to hers.

Meier trotted behind her, mumbling,

"You said if I manage to sneak in..."

Paige sighed deeply and resolved to find out later about the ins and outs of Meier's presence here. 

She looked at James,

"We may have a creator here." She finally acknowledged his presence and said so to him, while at the same time explaining what she was doing right now to Meier.
