28.57% "Woolhead"'s misery / Chapter 6: 3. Three Against Many

Chapter 6: 3. Three Against Many

The forest was suprizingly loud, but as they were getting closer to the beast's lair, the singing birds were getting quieter, and even larger animals were appearing in lesser quantities. These aspects made their guide got nervous, and more by any moment.

Soon a loud roar was heard:

„Wooargh!"

„It's coming to us, take cover!" Vile told to our guide. (which was sh**less scrared btw.)

Sil drawn his quarterstaff ready. She binded two summoned katanas, made of pure idea of sharpness. One was imbued with frost, other with paralysis magical poison.

The ground was trembling now, stronger with every moment. Sloth was appeared much larger than they thought, or…

„There are two, no three, oh sh**"

As the words rang, four beasts approached the company, but a moment later there were five of them, and were still multiplying.

„They are clones, must be!" Sil shouted and stroke nearest one with a quick blow, it's head exploded.

„No, they are parting!" Vile replied, stabbing one sloth through it's neck.

Kil was busy too biting foes with fury, slashing them with sharpened talons.

There were too many enemies, with every moment their numbers were doubled, but in particular were much smaller.

Suddenly team found themselves surrounded by tiny sloths. Sil's mind was grinding on high-speed while he used his breath to stop the shorten. Vile was desperately chanting area spells, which were doomed from the very beginning due to sheer numbers of the enemy.

„Impressive, but not enough to stop us!" Sil shouted with power, gathering mana from all the world around, even sloths.

'Gravity: Vortex' Sil recalled his first own spell. „You are doomed..." He whispered out weakened by the pure force he wielded.

The ground began collapsing under it's own weight, all the sloths were grounded, and their little bodies broken by the impending weight. Vile was panting under her now heavy body, as well as Kil, and even Sil as well.

He was going to collapse, if it was to last longer, and their blood stopped flowing, heavy as quicksilver.

„Stop, you're killing us!" Vile managed to say fraily.

But Sil was overcumbered by his own's magic gaze of death. Luckiny Kil stomped onto him, interrupting the chant.

Everyone alive collapsed exhausted nearly to death.

The fight was over, none sloth survived til the aftermath.

All three's counsciousness faded, to turn off all of sudden.

Sil woke up seeing fire's shine on the ceiling, then checked his surroundings.

Head – check, body – checked, mana – drained.

Everything seemed alright, for now. He tried to sit, but only managed to turn his head to look for his friends.

'You've done well.' He mind told to Kil, answered by cheer.

„How do you feel, I was worried you won't make it alive, even gave you my mana."

„Eerthendrbrr." Sil couldn't even talk.

„I gave your weapon to the smith, after you totally wrecked it, and nearly killed us all likewise. I'm glad I met you woolhead though.

At those words he fell asleep, dreaming pleasant dreams.

„You've done well, now rest." Vile sang like a lullaby.

And here's the story sang til today by one's village's folks every year in Warmt on certain day, legendary, and appreciated by all the bycomers.

Sil woke the next morning feeling very dizzy.

Kind of wrecked, but was given a good breakfast, served by a villageress.

It was going to be a painfull, but pleasant day, he thought.
