Orion's eyes were cold as he gazed at the stitched monster not far away. A gleam of light flashed in his eyes.
In his field of vision, the entry panel of the Stitched Monster was immediately generated.
[Stitched Monster]
[Level]: Intermediate
[Talent]: Eat Corpses (green), Mental Immunity (green), Unstoppable (green)
[Eat Corpses] (Green): The Stitched Monster can permanently improve its various attributes by devouring corpses.
[Mental Immunity] (Green): Every piece of the Stitched Monster's flesh and blood contains a living soul, greatly improving its psychic resistance.
[Unstoppable] (Green): The Stitched Monster has no fear, no emotions, is fearless, and will fight for its life!
"Intermediate level?" Orion muttered. " on the same level as the Violent Rat?"
Orion was puzzled. This was his first time participating in a hunting operation as a guardian sorcerer.
Through the entry panel, he could read more information. However, other guardian sorcerers had to rely on their experience and knowledge to judge the combat effectiveness of the Stitched Monster and then take appropriate measures.
To prevent further disaster, the bearded wizard Doren, Eva Feynman, and David Simmons immediately began setting up barriers to prevent the Stitched Monster from escaping.
Buzz!
Brilliant rays of light appeared one after another. Invisible mystical spells immediately enveloped the space and isolated the real plane. Through the space magic array, a temporary mirror dimension was opened.
[The Mirror Dimension is a parallel dimension that mimics Earth's plane of existence. It is complete with the same surroundings and inhabitants, but its visual appearance is distorted like fractured mirror]
This spectacle caught the attention of Orion and Sally Valence.
"What are you still standing there for?" Daniel Drum commanded. "Kill him! We must not let the Stitches evolve again!"
With that, Daniel grasped his magic staff, brilliant light flowing through it, and smashed it towards the burly and powerful Stitched Monster.
The Stitched Monster let out a scream of pain. Its fierce and violent eyes immediately turned towards Master Drum, and it raised its sickle high!
Clang!
The sickle and the staff collided with a bang, and a string of sparks burst out instantly. Daniel Drum's shoulders sank, his footsteps paused, and he stumbled, leaving a mark on the ground.
At the same moment, the Stitched Monster's other hand clenched into a fist and, with tremendous force, swung towards Drum's head.
"Drum!" Bearded Doren flew to the rescue, raising a magic shield to block the Stitched Monster's fist.
Eva Feynman and David Simmons chanted mysterious ancient spells, their magic power surging in their hands as it condensed into two whips. They instantly tied up the savage and ferocious Stitched Monster.
"Cytorak's Crimson Chain" Sally Valence's eyes lit up. She stayed out of it, enjoying the battle between the guardian sorcerers and the temple sorcerers like a thrilling drama.
However, a loud noise erupted from the nearby house. Another huge Stitched Monster, as big as a mountain, suddenly broke through the house, its face showing a fierce look as it charged towards Sally Valence.
"Another one?!"
"Two Stitched Monsters!"
"Oops!"
"Careful!" Daniel Drum, Doren Geyer, Eva Feynman, and David Simmons exclaimed in alarm.
Sally Valence, unable to react in time, rushed to meet the enemy. A dazzling ring of Raggadorr had just taken shape when the piercing sound of wind breaking through the air was already upon her.
Facing the majestic and powerful giant Stitched Monster, Sally Valence's eyes revealed a sense of despair.
[Stitched Monster]
[Level]: Advanced
[Talent]: Eat Corpses (green), Mental Immunity (green), Unstoppable (green), Flesh and Blood Fusion (blue)
[Flesh and Blood Fusion] (Blue): It can fuse the remains of a corpse into its flesh and blood, gaining some of the abilities of the deceased.
"High-level spirit monster!" Orion was shocked.
[Flesh and Blood Fusion]? With this blue entry, the giant Stitched Monster was promoted to a high-level spirit monster. How much luck value could it provide?
Orion pushed forward with both hands.
"The Wind of Watum!"
A strong and powerful whirlwind suddenly picked up Sally Valence and threw her to the side. After losing its target, the giant Stitched Monster turned its fierce and sharp eyes towards Orion.
Orion retreated violently, the energy in his hands surging as it transformed into an automatic rifle. He pulled the safety and squeezed the trigger in one swift motion.
Bang! Bang bang bang bang!
Energy missiles, as fast as arrows, densely packed, hit the giant Stitched Monster. The bullets left deep marks on the Stitched Monster's skin.
Seeing this, all the guardian sorcerers were stunned.
"Is this… a mystical weapon?"
"Orion!"
"How did you develop this thing?"
"My Orion is awesome!"
The bearded wizard Doren let out a deep breath and gave a thumbs up. As a battle-hardened guardian sorcerer, he could immediately see Orion's fighting talent—decisive, cruel, and without hesitation.
Not only did he rescue Sally Valence, but he also dealt tremendous magical damage to the Stitched Monster, directly drawing a lot of its anger.
"Mystical firearms…"
"The source of Orion's magic power…is Not Kamar-Taj?"
Eva Feynman and David Simmons also noted the difference in Orion's magic. Their minds were filled with doubts.
However, there was no time for idle chatter. The Stitched Monster had to be dealt with quickly. Three guardian sorcerers and one palace guardian sorcerer working together could easily take down a Stitched Monster.
Almost in an instant, Master Daniel Drum wielded the Sacred Sword of Vishanti and decapitated the Stitched Monster.
[Luck Value +20]
Afterwards, everyone rushed towards the remaining Stitched Monster, using their unique moves. Colorful magical sparks swirled and danced.
Sally Valence, the descendant of a famous family, was quickly defeated and left powerless.
"Orion…" she said, astonished. "he saved me despite past grudges?"
Orion's eyes were sharp. He held the gun and aimed. An energy missile wrapped in hot flames shot out of the barrel like a meteorite, piercing through the Stitched Monster's head.
There was a loud explosion. The giant Stitched Monster stood dazed for a moment before collapsing to the ground with a resounding thud.
A large cloud of dust was immediately stirred up. The Stitched Monster was dead.
[Luck Value +100]
"Phew." Orion looked delighted. The two Stitched Monsters had provided him with 20 and 100 points of luck, respectively.
Now, he could upgrade the blue item [Self-Taught]!
[Do you want to use the luck value for [Self-Taught]?]
"Sure!"
Ding!
A clear and pleasant voice sounded.
The entry was officially upgraded!
[[Self-Taught] (blue) has evolved into the term [Innate Knowledge] (purple)]
[Innate Knowledge] (Purple): Your talent in the field of magic is incredible. No matter what kind of mysterious knowledge you have, you will be able to master it at a glance without having to learn anything.
"Nice!" Orion exclaimed. "Born with knowledge?! The name of this entry is really domineering!"
Orion was ecstatic. The talent term [Self-Taught] was limited to the field of arcane magic. The term "Innate Knowledge" now included any kind of mysterious knowledge. This naturally encompassed rune magic.
In this way, he would not need any other reference materials and could decipher the secrets of the rune by himself!
"Orion!" Daniel Drum said with admiration. "Thanks to you! I really didn't expect that you've been acting all this time, but you're actually so fierce!"
The bearded Doren laughed heartily. There was no doubt that Orion had been completely integrated into the New York Temple.
Eva Feynman and David Simmons also showed approval and were extremely curious about the source of Orion's magic.
"We all have our secrets," Orion replied. "Don't ask any more questions."
"Orion," Drum said, "I will report your contribution to Master Hamill."
Drum tried to smooth things over, his eyes full of admiration. Only Sally Valence couldn't save face. Finally, she whispered softly when Daniel Drum glared at her.
"Thanks…"
End of Chapter
[Cyttorak]
Cyttorak existed as a deity (or demon) who received worship on Earth until, under unknown circumstances, he was banished from the Earth. He took up residence in a dimension known as the Crimson Cosmos, where time did not pass.
