Spirit’s Awakening: The Path of Lightning and Water

Spirit’s Awakening: The Path of Lightning and Water

7/31/2024~ In the process of editing and updating my earlier chapters. I personally believe the story starts to improve and find it's way a bit more around chapter 50+. Hopefully can make some adjustments in earlier chapters when I have the time, but pacing slows down into a more measured rate as I start finding my groove. I give the content more time to breathe instead of going so fast. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the realm of Nexaria, where elemental spirits and divine beings shape the fate of the world as a land of mortals striving to become gods against the demons of the Abyssal universe, a young boy named Lassim Vanthar embarks on an extraordinary journey of advancement, adventure and becoming a bastion for those around him in their fight against the Dragal. Born into a noble family with a legacy of Fire elemental martial prowess, Lassim possesses an unparalleled gift on his 8th birthday—a connection to two differing elemental spirits, a feat unheard of in the history of his world. A gift and a tampering of the order until now that is an omen. It is a sign of the Gods influencing the future fate of Nexaria on a more serious level. Lassim must harness the power of his dual spirits to protect his loved ones and confront the looming threat of the Abyss' encroachment on his universe, but one step at a time as he grows from just a tool of the God's to a major power as the hero of not only Nexaria, but the entire universe. Lassim faces daunting challenges, battles fierce adversaries, and unlocks the mysteries of his own destiny that has been tampered with by the Gods of this universe. How will he react and adapt to his situations? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is my first ever novel. I’m a new author and still learning how to tell a story. Please understand that when reading. Thank you.

Serenica Ingram is a brave witch in her twenties. She would do anything to be even better at healing. Mariana Kinley, a witch-hating witch and a ruthless businesswoman, doesn't like competition and drives Serenica out of her home. She joins the pirate crew of the necromancer, Captain Spade. The city of Neul that Serenica calls home is a hostile and degenerate place, ripe with rich merchants and homeless witches, but the mythical island of outlaws, Aja Vana, is even stranger. The western islands are populated by outcasts and Serenica would do anything to avoid them. Becoming a rich and respected pirate healer isn't easy, especially with both other witches and royals wanting Serenica dead. Black In the Water

Black In the Water

Where mystery meets romance... —Excerpt— We lay next to each other, both of us not saying a thing, but I feel comfortable. I don’t have the impulse to have to talk to him to avoid an awkward silence because it has never been awkward with Ash, I realise. “You asleep?” he whispers to me. “Nope,” I reply quietly. “It’s weird because my body is so tired but I can’t seem to shut my brain off.” “Me neither,” he says. I hear the crackling of the fresh sheet under us move and realise Ash has turned to face me. “Uhm, what?” I ask dubiously. “Nothing, I’m just trying to find a comfortable position.” “Okay,” I say as I stare at him in the dim glow of the candles. Ash stares back at me, his hand lifts to push away a strand of hair that has fallen into my eyes, then he closes his eyes. He is asleep in the next moment, with his hand frozen on my cheek. Usually, with anyone else, I would push his hand away because it feels wrong and uncomfortable. But his caress felt good against the slight burn on my skin. And as he rests his hand on my cheek, I can’t help but think about how no one has ever held me close to them and makes me feel this way. Even though Ash and I are far from holding each other close, just a touch of his hand comforts me in ways that others’ hugs have tried and failed. Without much thinking, I push Ash’s fallen hair out of his eyes and rest my hand against his cheek. In the next moment, as my eyes start to droop, I feel a pull of his cheek against my palm and realise he is smiling. —————————————————————————————————————————— When an apartment building is plagued by a strange substance in its water, its residents uncover a foreboding mystery that will perish them all. With a deadly fog that blocks their escape, they must now forget their differences and work together to overcome the horrifying events that ultimately threaten their survival.

Once upon a time, in an old, creaky house, there were strange noises at night. Every midnight, a scratching sound would come from the attic. One night, a young girl decided to investigate. As she climbed the rickety stairs, the noises grew louder. When she reached the attic, a cold wind blew and she saw a shadowy figure. She screamed and ran out of the house, never to return again.

To write noises well in a novel, you need to consider the context and the mood you want to create. Maybe describe how the noise affects the characters or builds tension. Like 'The constant drip of the leaky faucet was driving her crazy.'

What are the 'noises through the wall' in the 'dark stone stories'?

Well, the 'noises through the wall' in the 'dark stone stories' might be related to the nature of the dark stones themselves. If they are some sort of special or magical stones, they could be emitting noises as a form of communication or as a warning. Or it could simply be the result of the environment around the stones. For example, if there is water flowing nearby, the sound could be carried through the stones and seem like it's coming from within the wall.

It depends. If you're someone who gets easily frightened by unexplained sounds in a mysterious setting like that of the 'dark stone stories', then yes, they would be scary. However, if you're more of a skeptic and look for rational explanations, you might not find them as scary.
What are some common elements in noises horror stories?
1 answer
2024-11-10 02:30
One common element is the unexpectedness of the noises. For example, in many stories, the main character is in a seemingly normal place like a house or a hotel room, and suddenly there are strange noises that break the silence. Another element is the mystery behind the noises. It could be a ghost, a monster, or some unknown entity making those sounds. And often, the noises build up tension. As they get louder or more frequent, the fear of the character (and the reader) increases.

The strange noises in the abandoned house could be due to some stray animals that have made it their home. Rats, for example, can make a lot of scurrying and squeaking noises.
