[For Writing Prompt Contest #274 - Cultivation] 18 year old Phineas is a peaceful and pathetic man who grows up under the harsh conditions of poverty inside a religious village. Bullied most of his life, he reconciled in his mother who told him, "Don't blame them for their behavior, they only know what they are taught." On one fateful day his village is attacked and subsequently destroyed by a rich noble for not paying taxes. The sole survivor of the ordeal is Phineas, who doesn't blame the noble for the destruction of his village, but rather blames the gods for teaching humans how to commit travesties. He curses the god his village worshipped, and disrespected her. In retaliation, she appears before him. However upon laying eyes on her, his eyes melted. So helplessly he wondered helping anyone and everyone that he came across, all the while he marches with blind rage. With a single goal in mind, to commit the worst travesty to all the Gods.

Jangan dengarkan mereka.” -Raihan- Raihan adalah penyelamat hidupku yang pertama. Ketika usiaku 15 tahun dan aku hampir mati rasa. Waktu itu, tidak ada kehangatan dalam duniaku. Semuanya membeku. Sejauh mata memandang, aku hanya melihat warna hitam dan abu-abu. Aku tidak tahu apa yang harus kulakukan di dunia yang seperti itu. Sampai suatu hari Raihan datang mengulurkan tangan padaku. "Apa kau keberatan jika aku menjadi temanmu?" tanyanya. Aku menggeleng samar dan kami pun menjadi teman. Sejak saat itu, dunia tempatku tinggal tidak lagi menyeramkan. Pelangi bermunculan setelah hujan. Kunang-kunang beterbangan, dan dunia yang gelap itu pun berubah menjadi tempat yang sangat nyaman. Terang, hangat, dan penuh warna. Sayang, kehancuran datang disaat yang paling tidak kuinginkan. Telalu cepat bahkan sebelum aku bisa bersenang-senang. Raihan menghilang dan semua lampu di duniaku padam. Lalu aku dipaksa untuk melanjutkan hidup dalam kegelapan. Sendirian. Waktu berlalu dan aku mulai terbiasa dengan keadaan –kegelapan, dan kesendirian. Sampai suatu ketika seseorang datang dan mengajakku untuk melihat dunia luar. Aku menolak. Aku memilih untuk tetap tinggal di dunia yang gelap berteman kesendirian. "Kenapa?" tanyanya. Tapi aku hanya diam. Bukan karena aku tidak mau melihat dunia yang dia ceritakan. Dunia luar yang indah dan banyak teman. Tapi aku takut melangkah ke luar. Jika nanti aku mengiyakan ajakannya dan menjadi nyaman berada di luar, aku takut kejadian sebelumnya akan terulang. Aku takut dia menghilang dan meninggalkanku sendirian. Seperti Raihan yang mengubah duniaku menjadi lebih menyeramkan. "Meskipun nanti ketika aku tidak ada, kau tidak akan sendirian. Kau akan menemukan banyak teman di sana." Bujuknya. Aku berpikir cukup lama untuk memutuskan. Tapi akhirnya aku menyetujui ajakannya. Aku melangkah ke luar, meninggalkan dunia yang gelap tanpa kehangatan. Dunia tempat aku mengjalani hidup sendirian. Seperti sebuah festival perayaan, dunia di luar sangat meriah. Ada banyak makanan dan minuman. Udaranya hangat dan wangi. Orang-orang pun menyanyi dan menari mengikuti alunan musik yang menggema di sana-sini. Aku suka tempat ini. “Kau tidak sendiri lagi sekarang.” Ujar seseorang yang mengajakku ke dunia luar. “Kau tidak harus menahan semua beban sendiri. Kau bisa berbagi dengan teman-temanmu di sini.” Aku tersenyum. Merasa sangat bersyukur karena memilih untuk pergi dari duniaku yang gelap dan beku. Di duniaku yang baru, hari-hari terasa begitu panjang dan nyaman. Aku sama sekali tidak merasa lelah meski harus melakukan banyak pekerjaan dalam satu waktu yang bersamaan. Aku memiliki banyak teman yang siap mendengarkan keluh kesahku. Mereka bahkan tidak keberatan jika aku meceritakan tentang masa laluku. Sayangnya, aku belum siap untuk itu. Aku tidak ingin mereka tahu bagaimana aku menjalni kehidupanku di masa lalu. Sendirian, dalam kegelapan. “Kau tidak perlu terburu-buru. Aku akan memberimu waktu sebanyak yang kau mau.” Kata seseorang itu. “Untuk apa?” “Untuk sembuh dari luka-luka lama.” Aku pun mengagguk setuju. Lambat laun aku mulai jatuh cinta dengan dunia baruku. Di sampingku, ada seseorang yang selau mengkhawatirkanku dan dia menjagaku dengan baik. Dia adalah seseorang yang mengajakku ke luar dari dunia lamaku yang gelap dan beku. Aku menyukai kehidupanku yang baru. Tentu saja, sebelum kematian merenggut semua kebahagiaan dariku. Saat aku mulai mempercayai teman-temanku dan hampir membuka diri pada duniaku yang baru.

He stares into her eyes like a mirror. He tears his shirt and she bites down on her lip as his body seduces her. He puts an arm around her and draws her close to his body. Rachael’s heart pounds in her chest like a drum. She can feel his hot breath against her neck. “Rachael,” she hears a familiar and alluring voice. Rachael can hear Samuel’s voice but she cannot see him. “I want to hold your small hands and kiss them,”. She feels little kisses on her fingers. “I want to touch you,” his voice says and she closes her eyes. Rachael feels a soft hand press hard against her nipple and she lets out a moan. She raises her head to see Gabriel still looking at her. He bends and kisses her neck, he nibbles her neck and traces his way to her collar bone. Gabriel smiles as Rachael’s body grows weak against his. He says something but Rachael cannot hear his words. His mouth moves but he has no voice. “Rachael,” Samuel’s voice calls out to her, a voice without a body. Rachael is a girl trying to come to terms with her father’s death. Things seem normal until she meets the twin supernatural. Things change when the twins develop feelings towards her. Bonds are tested between them as they long for her all the while running from Dracula. Rachael learns about her family secrets. She endures pain and finds courage in her journey. The twins face Dracula in a grand finale and their love for Rachael will be tested with a heavy sacrifice. Secrets will be discovered. Bonds will be tested. Will Rachael survive her new chaotic world?
