She checked the backseat of her car before getting in. As she drove, she saw a pale face in the rear - view mirror that wasn't there before. It was just a short drive home, but it felt like an eternity. The face in the mirror just stared at her with empty eyes.
I walked down the dark alley. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a shadow that was not my own, and it was growing larger as if something was approaching me stealthily. I tried to quicken my pace, but my legs felt like lead. The shadow loomed closer and closer, and I could feel a cold presence behind me.
I woke up in the middle of the night. There was a figure standing at the foot of my bed, its eyes glowing red.
One could be: 'I woke up to a noise. It was coming from inside the closet.'
One example could be 'The last man on Earth sat alone in a room. There was a knock on the door.' It creates horror through the sudden and unexpected event in a seemingly desolate situation.
I was alone in the house. A cold hand touched my shoulder from behind and I dared not turn around.
Here's another: 'I saw my reflection smile at me. I wasn't smiling.'
One example could be 'I woke up to find a cold hand on my shoulder. I live alone.' Another is 'The old doll in the attic blinked. It was facing the wall before.'
I woke up to a strange noise. When I looked under the bed, I saw a pair of eyes staring back at me.
My phone took a picture of me while I was sleeping and sent it to an unknown number.
I heard a baby crying in the attic. When I got there, no one was there but a tattered doll.
One example could be 'I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a figure at the foot of my bed. When I turned on the light, it was still there.'
