The Exodus is also very significant. The Israelites were enslaved in Egypt, and Moses, with God's help, led them out. There were ten plagues sent upon Egypt before the Pharaoh finally let the Israelites go. This journey included the parting of the Red Sea which allowed the Israelites to escape the pursuing Egyptians.
The story of David and Goliath is well - known. Goliath was a giant Philistine warrior, and David, a young shepherd boy, defeated him with a sling and a stone. This showed God's power working through the underdog and David later became a great king in the Old Testament history.
One important event is the creation story. God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh. Another is the story of Noah's Ark. God, seeing the wickedness of man, told Noah to build an ark and gather pairs of every kind of animal. Then the flood came and wiped out the rest of humanity, but Noah and his family and the animals on the ark were saved.
