Generally speaking, a novel is fiction. It allows the author to build a whole new world, characters, and plotlines that don't necessarily exist in reality. Biographies, on the other hand, are based on the true lives of specific individuals.

Most often, a novel is considered fiction. This means the story, characters, and events are created by the writer's imagination rather than being real. However, some novels can be inspired by real-life events or people but still have fictional elements added to make it more engaging and interesting.
