they are, but only the volturi only really know that. to everyone else, Adam is just a myth. most of the volturi, except for the three heads, were killed during the battle with the Romanian coven.
Also the reason most vampire covens are taritorial is because they are afraid that if too many vampires are in one place at the same time, they will draw the attention of the residents which will force the volturi to come and kill them all.

apparently, they can. I use "Fandom" for a lot of the research I do on the characters for this story. it also has a lot of interesting facts on there about most fictional worlds. Twilight included. on there, it says that they can cry with tears. except the tears are their venom.
